-________. Jane, but I have promised my mother to do washing and cleaning.
    A. Take it easy B. Forget it C. Thanks D. Not at all
A.Take it easy别紧张;B.Forget it别在意;C.Thanks谢谢;D.Not at all别客气。根据“will you join us in going camping this weekend”可知,此处应先感谢对方的邀请。故选C。
    2. —Tony _______ what I did annoying though he didn’t say anything.
—So you think you will have to make an apology?
    A. could find B. should have found
    C. might find D. must have found
由“what I did”可知,此处是对过去事情有把握的推测,must have done“一定是做某事了”。
It must have rained last night, for the ground is wet.
He can't have finished the work so soon.
They may not have known it beforehand.
I needn't have bought so much wine—only five people came.
    5.“should / ought to + have + 过去分词”表示过去本该做某事但没做,其否定式表示过去不该做某事但做了,这种句式含有不满或责备之意,ought to的语气比should强一些.如:
You ought to / should have studied harder.
    He oughtn't to / shouldn't have done that.
I guess the poet would have been about twenty when she wrote her first poem.
Another worker wouldn't have acted like that.
    3. In the face of unfair phenomenon, we should not________ from defending social justice.
    A. swallow B. swell C. shrink D. stroke

    A. that; what B. what; that C. what; what D. that; which
    【答案】A
I wonder后是when引导的强调句式的特殊疑问句,可以复原为“It was (when) that you came to realize…” 故选A。
    5. After experiments on COVID-19, medical experts conclude that the infected person still has the possibility of survival, ________he or she tests positive twice.
    A. as though B. even if C. in case D. so that
A. as though好像;B. even if即使;C. in case以防,万一;D. so that以便于。由“still has the possibility of survival”和“he or she tests positive twice”可知,句子表示“受感染者仍然有生存的可能性,即使他或她的检测结果两次呈阳性”,空格处意为“即使”,用even if引导让步状语从句,故选B。

I’d done it before, and so I had no reason to believe that this time would be any different. I was sure that when I returned home from my mission trip, as always, I’d bring back nothing more than some mud on my boots, a hole or two in my jeans and, of course, a lot of great memories.
The summer before my high school graduation, I went to West Virginia with others as volunteers to repair the homes of those in need. Arriving at our destination, my group was assigned the task of rebuilding sections of a home that had been damaged by fire. No sooner had we parked on the home’s dirt driveway than we saw an excited little girl, no more than six years old, standing in the doorway of the family’s temporary home. Shoeless and wearing dirty clothes and the biggest smile I’d ever seen, she yelled, “Ma, Ma, they really came!” I didn’t know it then, but her name was Dakota, and four more days would pass before she’d say another word near me.
Behind Dakota was a woman in a wheelchair — her grandmother, we’d soon learn. I also discovered that my job that week would be to help change a fire-damaged dining room into a bedroom for this little girl. Over the following days, I noticed Dakota peeking at us every now and then as we worked. A few times, I tried talking with her, but she remained shy and distant, always flying around us like a tiny butterfly but keeping to herself.
By our fifth and final day, however, this was about to change. Before I went to work on her home on that last morning, I spoke for a moment or two with the grandmother. I was especially pleased when she told me how much Dakota loved her new room — so much. As we talked, I noticed something I hadn’t seen before — Dakota was hiding behind her grandmother.
Cautiously, she stepped into view, and I could see that just like her clothes, her face was still dirty. But no amount of soil could hide those bright blue eyes and big smile. She was simply adorable. Slowly, she began walking toward me. It wasn’t until she was just inches away that I noticed the folded piece of paper in her tiny hand. Silently, she reached up and handed it to me. Once unfolded, I looked at the drawing she’d made with her broken crayons on the back of an old coloring book cover. It was of two girls — one much taller than the other — and they were holding hands. She told me it was supposed to be me and her, and on the bottom of the paper were three little words that instantly broke my heart: “Please don’t leave”. Now almost in tears, I couldn’t control myself anymore — I bent down and hugged her. She hugged me, too. And for the longest time, neither of us could let go.
I left for home early the next morning. I was returning with muddy boots and holes in my jeans. But because of Dakota, I brought back something else, too — a greater appreciation for all of the blessings of my life. I’ll never forget that barefoot little butterfly with the big smile and dirty face. I pray that she’ll never forget me either.

    A. enjoyed meeting me B. feared to talk with me

Many science fiction stories tell about explorers arriving in a new world. The explorers then use some kind of high-tech device to test for breathable air or signs of life. But here on Earth, science fiction is becoming reality through a new sampling technology called environmental DNA, or eDNA for short. Scientists can use it to identify rare species or estimate fish populations with just a little air or water.
“Essentially we can take a sample of soil or air - and in our case-water, and we can sequence the DNA out of it and tell you what is there.” says Ryan Kelly, an ecologist at the University of Washington .
Environmental DNA can be used in two ways. One is to identify the creatures that live in a certain place. The other is to confirm the presence or lack of a specific creature.
“It is extremely useful for species that are really hard to find. I have spent many hours looking for species that I was pretty sure were there - looking under rocks, looking in water, doing all kinds of surveys.” says Caren Goldberg, one of the first biologists to take the technology from the testing stage to actually using it. She sees eDNA as a way to get answers more efficiently and with less destruction compared to traditional survey techniques. Until recently, scientists depended on snorkeling (潜水), netting or using an electric current to temporarily catch fish.
This newer way to identify what lives in the environment is becoming popular around the world. Animal experts in Vietnam are using the eDNA to find the last, wild Yangtze giant softshell turtles. One researcher on the Caribbean island of Trinidad is using the sampling technology to find endangered golden treefrogs. In Mad a gas ear, it is being used to identify amphibian(两栖动物) diseases.
Ms Goldberg has used eDNA testing to confirm the local extinction(灭绝) of a leopard frog in the American state of Idaho. She has also been asked to document the spread of the New Zealand mud snail in the state of Washington. The creature has been found in lakes and other waterways across the state.
Scientists working with the technology say they do not expect robots to replace field biologists anytime soon. But the old-fashioned fieldwork could soon be more targeted.
    46. Environmental DNA can not be used to___________.
    A. identify what creatures live in a certain place.
    B. make clear when a certain creature disappeared
    C. prove the a specific creature exists
    D. warn the lack of a specific creature
    47. Compared to traditional survey techniques, eDNA is more___________.
    A. time-consuming B. eco-friendly
    C. dangerous D. convincing
    48. By using eDNA, Caren Goldberg has___________.
    A. succeeded in catching many fishes
    B. found the existence of golden treefrogs
    C. documented the spread of softshell turtles
    D. confirmed the disappearance of the leopard frog in Idaho
    49. What can we infer from the last paragraph?
    A. Robots will replace scientists soon.
    B. Some scientists are against using eDNA.
    C. The old-fashioned fieldwork may disappear.
    D. Many biologists are unwilling to do the fieldwork.
    50. What is the best title for the text?
    A. Science Fiction Becomes Reality for Species Surveys
    B. Biologists Explore Space with the Help of eDNA
    C. Scientists Found Methods to Test for Signs of Life.
    D. New Technologies Are Presented in Science Fictions
B 47. B 48. D 49. C 50. A

根据第三段的内容“Environmental DNA can be used in two ways. One is to identify the creatures that live in a certain place. The other is to confirm the presence or lack of a specific creature.”
根据第四段“She sees eDNA as a way to get answers more efficiently and with less destruction compared to traditional survey techniques.”
根据第六段“Ms Goldberg has used eDNA testing to confirm the local extinction of a leopard frog in the American state of Idaho. ”可知Caren Goldberg 使用 eDNA确定了Idaho这个地方豹蚊蛙的灭绝。故选D。

    【49题详解】
推理判断题。最后一段“scientists working with the technology say they do not expect robots to replace field biologists anytime soon, But the old-fashioned fieldwork could soon be more targeted.”
ButhereonEarth,sciencefictionisbecomingrealitythroughanewsamplingtechnologycalledenvironmentalDNA,oreDNAforshort. ”可知探险者使用某种高科技设备来测试可呼吸空气或生命迹象。但在地球上,通过一种叫做环境DNA(简称eDNA)的新采样技术,科幻小说正变成现实。所以短文的最佳标题为“ 物种调查——科普小说成为现实”。故选A。
    D
Confucius said, “In a group of three people, there is always something I can learn. Choose to follow the strengths of others, and use their shortcomings to reflect upon ourselves.”
As you can see from what Confucius said, everyone that we come across can teach us something useful. As long as we reflect on the lessons learnt from and by other people,we can continuously improve ourselves. But take note that when you reflect on these lessons, you apply some wisdom to each lesson because each situation is unique although they share some common principles.
We can learn a lot from everyone. We always tend to think that we can only learn from those who are higher in status or have more knowledge than us, but that is not really the case. We learn from those who are lower in status than us as well, because the experience and knowledge of each person is very different.
The best thing about this type of learning, reflecting other people’s strengths and shortcomings onto ourselves, is that we do not to pay for the mistakes that are made. The only cost to us is the time that is needed to learn about and reflect on these lessons from other people’s lives.
As we all know, some mistakes can be ones which people cannot afford to make, for instance, a broken friendship or a financial loss. Thus constantly using other people’s strengths and shortcomings to reflect upon ourselves makes us realize the costs of these mistakes and reduces the possibility that we will make similar mistakes.
What can we do now to learn from others? By keeping our eyes and ears open. Be observant and able to realize what strengths and shortcomings other people have. A lot of people in this world like to complain about their lives. Listen to them and make your own assessment and from your own assessment, reflect upon your life and make improvements where necessary.
    51. According to the passage, which of the following is NOT true?
    A. Confucius thought we should learn from strengths of others.
    B. Only from those who have more knowledge than us can we learn
    C. It is by reflecting on the lessons learnt by others that we can improve ourselves.
    D. Reflecting upon other people’s strengths and shortcomings can help us make fewer mistakes.
    52. The underlined part “this type of learning” in Paragraph 4 probably refers to________
    A. learning from other people’s mistakes
    B. learning from others experiences
    C. finding what strengths and shortcomings other people have
    D. reflecting others strengths and shortcomings onto ourselves
    53. From the fifth paragraph, we learn that________.
    A. sometimes we can afford the costs of a broken friendship
    B. our reflection will necessarily reduce our mistakes
    C. some reflection will help to improve ourselves
    D. reflection will stop us from making any mistakes in life
    54. The passage is probably taken from________.
    A. a magazine about life B. a book about travel
    C. an advertisement D. a research report
    55. What does this passage mainly talk about?
    A. How to improve oneself.
    B. How to use the shortcomings of others to reflect upon ourselves.
    C. How to reduce the mistakes in one’s life.
    D. How to learn from other people’s strengths and shortcomings.
B 52. D 53. C 54. A 55. D

About 43 years ago, I spotted an advertisement in the paper for the YMCA wildness program. I was 15 and wanted to do something different. My first experience was a boat trip. I still have the images of sunrises and sunsets with all beautiful colors on Lake of the Woods.
As a teenager, I didn’t know that I was having the best adventure a teenager could have. Even now I can feel the cold water dripping down my arm as we sat in the boat pulling the paddles awkardly through running water. It was my first experience in a boat and my arms became tired after many hours of paddling.
We stopped for lunch in the boat by assembling all the boats together. Our guide handed out chocolate, cheese and dried meat.
At night it was time to camp at our site picked out by our guide. There we learned to start campfires and cook some of our meals. This is where I felt in love with noodles. It was wonderful to share simple meals over the fire and talk with new friends. We cleaned up our mess and put up our tents and slept on the ground. We learned to carry the heavy packs to our next destination. I developed a sense of accomplishment and had arm muscles after that trip.
There were no phones , makeup, hair dryers...just us and the bush. We came from different backgrounds with different personalities and we all had to work together as a group.
I liked the boat trip so much that I joined the “Survival” trip the next year. I kept a journal from that second trip and often go back to it.
    56. Where did the author experience his first boat trip in the wild?(No more than 5 words)
    57. What did the author think of his/her first boat trip?(No more than 10words)
    58. What does the underlined word “assembling” in paragraph 3 probably mean?(1 word)
    59. What did the author learn to do from the camp of the first boat trip?(no more than 10 words)
    60. What do you think of a trip without phones?(no more than 20words)
56. On lake of the Woods
    57. It was the best adventure a teenager would have.
    58. Gathering
    59. To start /starting campfires, cook meals and carry the heavy pack.
    60. It’s a great opportunity to completely enjoy a trip without any one disturbing, which should be encouraged.
