New rules and behavior standards (行为规范) for middle school students came out in March. Middle schools are going to use a new way to decide who the top students are. The best students won’t only have high marks. They will also be kids who don’t dye (染) their hair. The following are some of the new rules.
Tell the truth. Have you ever copied someone else’s work on an exam? Don’t do it again! That’s not something an honest student should do. If you have played computer games for two hours in your room, don’t tell your parents you have done homework.
Do more at school. Good students love animals and care for other people. April is Bird-loving month in China. Is your school doing anything to celebrate? You should join! In that way, you can learn more about animals and how to protect them. When more people work together, it makes it more fun for everyone.
Have you ever quarreled with your teammates when your basketball team lost? Only working together can make your team stronger. Be friendly to the people you are with. Try to think of others, not only yourself.
Be open to new ideas. Have you ever thought that people could live on the moon? Maybe you’ll discover Earth Ⅱ some day. Don’t look down on new ideas. Everyone’s ideas are important. You should welcome them, because new ideas make life better for everyone.
Protect yourself. Has someone ever taken money from one of your classmates? Don’t let it happen to you. If you have to go home late, you should let your parents know.
Use the Internet carefully. The Internet can be very useful for your studies. But some things on the Internet aren’t for kids, so try to look at web pages that are good for you. You can use the web for fun or homework. Can’t you find any good websites for children? Here are some: Http:// kids.eastday.com, Http://www. Chinakids. Net. Com, http://www. Cycnet.com.

二、佳作欣赏
A. 段落编写
段落编写(一)allow because chance support important
I think teenagers should be allowed to make their own decisions, because it’s important for them to be independent and take care of themselves. When they make decisions by themselves, they will take it seriously and make every effort to work. There is no doubt that teenagers won’t succeed easily without their parents’ support. With their parents’ support, the teenagers who can make their own decisions will have a great chance to achieve their dreams.
段落编写(二)whose valuable belong must policeman
I went to my friend’s house to attend his birthday party yesterday afternoon. On my way, I noticed that there was a bag beside a car. Whom does it belong to?
I picked it up and found that there were some documents in it. I couldn’t find out whose bag it was, but I thought it must be valuable to its owner. So I gave it to a policeman standing nearby. I hope the owner could get it back soon.

We have many rules in our school. Some are good for us,I think, but others are not. For example, we are required to wear school uniforms every day. It helps us have an easy life without too much attention to dress and appearance, so we can just focus on our school work. However, as for “It’s not allowed to bring mobile phones to school”, I don’t think it’s a good rule. Nowadays we are in IT generation, and mobile phones are really necessary for people in everyday lives, including teenagers. In my opinion, the rule can be changed a little like this “It’s not allowed to use mobile phones in class.”
We do need some rules both in schools or families. They are very helpful for us to make fewer mistakes when we are too young to know how to do right. But it would be better for teachers or parents to sit down and listen to our opinions about rules often, so that they can be always effective and acceptable to us.
