六. Teaching procedures
Step 1: Lead-in
Greeting and lead in the topic
Step 2: Presentation
- Present the new words which they need to master this class through talking about Tom’s family.
- Work on 1a to consolidate the new word they have learned.
- Check the answers
4.Ask some students to read aloud the words.
Step 3: Listen to 1b.
- Play the recording for the first time.Students circle the words they hear. Check the answers.
- Play the recording for the second time. Ask students to fill in the blanks and pay attention to David’s introductions of the family.
Step 4: Pair work ( Work on 1c )
- Ask students to introduce Cindy’s family members within two minutes by using the sentence patterns which are shown on PPT
- Ask several students to display
Step 5: listening
Let students try reading the names in 2b and offer help if need
While listening
- Then play the recording of 2b
- Check the answers.
Step 7work on 2d
- Read and answer several questions
- Listen to the tape and ask students pay attention the pronunciation
- Role play the conversation
Step 8: Pair work ( Work on 2c )
Talk about your family
Step 9 Make a summary
Step 10 Emotional aims : play a short video to let the students know about the real meaning of family.
