Glad to hear from you again. In your last letter, you asked me about our school clubs. It so happened that it was the right time for the clubs to take in new members. Based on my own interest, I have studied all the clubs and chose one favorite. Now let me introduce our school clubs first. There are many varieties of school clubs like debate club, music club, stage club and badminton club to satisfy our needs and interest. We often meet regularly on Tuesday afternoon, when we will have no other classes. That will be the most unforgettable time, I think.
As for me, I prefer music club. You know I have learnt piano for many years. And I want to learn more about music from others. What’s more, I can make more friends sharing the same interest with me. Life in senior high school is quite different. We are so busy every day. Therefore, that will be a golden opportunity for us students to relax ourselves.

书面表达评分标准
一、评分原则
1. 本题总分为20分,按5个档次给分。
2. 评分时,先根据文章的内容和语言初步确定其所属档次,然后以该档次的要求来衡量,确定或调整档次,最后综合给分。
3. 词数少于85的,从总分中减去2分。
4. 评分时,应注意的主要内容为:内容要点、应用词汇和语法结构的数量和准确性、上下文的连贯性及语言的得体性。
5. 拼写与标点符号是语言准确性的一个方面。每错误书写3个单词从总分中减去1分,原则上不超过3分,重复的不计。英、美拼写及词汇用法均可接受。标点符号错误,将视其对交际的影响程度酌情分。
6. 如书写较差,以致影响交际,将分数降低一个档次。

W: Surely not! India tops the list with three million homeless people.
M: Well, it depends on how you look at it. Although we have a million fewer homeless people than India, we have the highest percentage of homeless people.

W: Wonderful! How much time do you have each week to work?
M: I’m a freshman so it’s about 10 to 20 hours… I need money badly. My parents are retired, so I need to support myself for my study.
W: I’d advise you to take baby steps while you get used to university life. You’ve got to learn how to balance your study, work and free time.
M: OK. So…what do you recommend? Is there a job I can do?
W: Now, I would suggest something that’s about a few hours a week to start with. That’s, say, two hours a night, three nights a week. The other thing I recommend is to get something that gives you time to study while you’re working.
M: Great. What kind of job lets me study while I work?
W: How about something in the library? You can study there.
M: How much does it pay?
W: It pays $10 an hour. So if you work six hours a week, you’ll pocket $60.
M: All right. Um, the library sounds fun, but could I check out some other jobs before I decide.

Do you think your school could be the greenest school in the country? If so, the IC Bus Company wants to hear about it. The company has started a nationwide competition to find America’s most eco-friendly school around the country, and they need everyone’s help. Students, parents and teachers from around the country are invited to present a 500-word essay on the subject. The essay explains the actions that their schools have taken to help protect the planet, such as organizing an in-school recycling program, planting a garden and even turning off the lights in an empty classroom. These are all ways in which you and your classmates can be green. The organizers hope that the contest will encourage children and adults to think about how they can help save the earth. The winning school will also receive a hybrid school bus from IC Bus and some money for school materials. The bus creates less pollution than ordinary cars and buses.
