El Capitan
Ppular amng climbers, El Capitan is a 3,000-ft sheer rck face n the nrth side f Ysemite Valley. Althugh it may nt seem like it, El Capitan is actually 1,000 feet higher than the face f Half Dme. El Capitan gained interest with the free sl climb f Alex Hnnld in June f 2017, and the Academy Award winning dcumentary film, Free Sl. He became the first persn t climb El Capitan withut rpes, and cmpletely unaided.
Tunnel View
The mst classic view f Ysemite Valley is frm Tunnel View. This vista, which will feel very familiar t mst visitrs, stretches ut t El Capitan n the left, Bridalveil Fall n the right, Half Dme in the distance, and als takes in the lush valley at the base f the huge granite walls. The best time t appreciate this scene is in the afternn, when the walls are bathed in sunlight.
