    1.Where I'm frm, we are pretty relaxed abut time. 我来的那个地方对时间非常放松。 句子中的 “Where I'm frm” 是一个由 “where” 引导的地点状语从句。
    Explanatins
    引导地点状语从句的副词除了where 还有wherever。如:Just stay where yu are.就留在你原来的地方。
    Wherever yu are, yu can see new factries and stries, new schls and hspitals. 无论你走到哪里, 你都能见到新建的工厂, 商店, 学校和医院。
    2.We are the land f watches, after all! 毕竟我们是手表王国。(1)句中的land 是一个名词, “国家” “国土”的意思。如: After living in freign lands fr many years, the man went back hme. 在外国居住了多年之后, 这个人回到了自己的祖国。
    land 还可以表示 “陆地” “土壤” “土地”等意思。如: We traveled by land until we reached the sea. 我们在陆路旅行, 一直到大海。
    (2)句子中的 “after all'' 意思是 “毕竟”。如:S yu see, I was right after all. 你看, 毕竟还是我对吧。Yu decided t cme after all.你毕竟还是决定来了。

    1.table manners 餐桌礼仪 manner 是 “礼貌”的意思, 常以复数形式出现。 如: It's bad manners t talk with a full muth. 嘴里吃着东西说话是不礼貌的。
     manner 还可以表示 “风俗;习惯”,也常以复数形式出现。 如: The manners f the ancient Egyptians 古埃及的风俗习惯 manner 还可以表示 “方法;方式” “态度;举止”等意思。如:
    Dn't yu think that David has gt a very arrgant manner? 你难道不觉得戴维的态度很傲慢吗? Why are yu talking in such a strange manner? 你为什么用这种奇怪的方式谈话。
    2. My biggest challenge is learning hw t behave at the dinner table. 我最大的挑战是学会餐桌上的礼仪。 behave 动词,意思是 “行为举止; 举止”   
    The by behaved very well last night. 孩子昨天晚上表现挺好。 The teacher encuraged the children t behave well and nt t be a discredit t the cllective. 老师鼓励孩子们表现得好一些,不要给集体丢脸。
    The little by behaved with great encurage in the face f gunman. 在持枪歹徒面前,这个小男孩表现得极有勇气。 它还可以表示 “守规矩;举止适当有礼”的意思。如: Please behave yurself. 请礼貌点儿。
     Will yu children please behave! 你们这些孩子们能不能守规矩点。  它的相应的名词是behavir, 意思是 “行为”。如:
    I am used t it. 词组 get/be used t 意思是 “习惯于……”词组中的 t 是介词 其后如果跟动词 动词应该用动名词形式。  The astrnauts sn gt used t the cnditin f weightlessness  太空人很快就习惯了失重状态。
    I'm getting used t the cld weather. 我开始习惯寒冷的天气。 She gets used t driving a small car.她习惯开一辆小车。He will get used t getting up early.他将习惯于早起。
    WritingTable Manners in China
      Talking abut eating habit, unlike the West, where everyne has their wn plate f fd, in China the dishes are placed n the table and everybdy shares.
    Chinese are very prud f their culture f cuisine and will d their best t shw their hspitality.
    And smetimes the hst will serve sme dishes with his r her wn chpsticks t guests t shw his r her hspitality. This is a sign f pliteness. The apprpriate thing t d wuld be t eat the whatever-it-is and say hw yummy it is.
    If yu feel uncmfrtable with this, yu can just say a plite "thank yu" and leave the fd there. There sme ther rules that are suggested yu fllw t make yur stay in China happier, thugh yu will be frgiven if yu have n idea f what they are.
    1. Never stick yur chpsticks upright in the rice bwl, lay them n yur dish instead. Otherwise, it is deemed extremely implite t the hst and senirs present. The reasn fr this is that when smebdy dies, the shrine t them cntains a bwl f sand
    r rice with tw sticks f incense stuck upright in it. S if yu stick yur chpsticks in the rice bwl, it lks like the shrine and is equivalent t wishing death upn a persn at the table.
    2. Make sure the sput f the teapt is nt facing anyne. It is implite t set the teapt dwn where the sput is facing twards smebdy. The sput shuld always be directed t where nbdy is sitting, usually just utward frm the table.
    3. Dn't tap n yur bwl with yur chpsticks, since that will be deemed insult t the hst r the chef. Beggars tap n their bwls, and als, when the fd is cming t slw in a restaurant, peple will tap their bwls. If yu are in smene's hme, it is like insulting the hst r the ck.
    4. Never try t turn a fish ver and debne it yurself, since the separatin f the fish skeletn frm the lwer half f the flesh will usually be perfrmed by the hst r a waiter. Superstitius peple deem bad luck will ensue and a fishing bat will capsize if yu d s.
    This is especially true t sutherners in China (t be specific, such as Guangdng, Guangxi and Fujian prvinces, etc.), since, traditinally, sutherners are the fishing ppulatin.
