√To Be An Artist

·At the Snow Farm Summer, you are not a student. You’re an artist!

·It offers small-group studios (工作室) led by professional artists.

·You can have drawing/painting classes in the studios.

·For 8th-12th graders from July 15 to July 20.

√Enjoy the Power of Leadership (领导力)

·The National Teen Leadership Program includes leadership exercises and speech training. It will improve teens’ leadership skills.

·Open to 9th-12th graders. The program will be held at Chapman University, July 10 to July 12 and at Sacramento State University, July 31 to August 2.

√The Dream of Engineering

·Have you ever wanted to build a bridge? Program a robot? Join us at the Engineering Experience for hands-on (实际操作的), week-long introduction to the world of engineering.

·Students will use their design skills and the scientific methods they learned at the physics class to solve real engineering problem.

·It is open to 7th-9th graders and will start on July 10.

Welcome to Woodland School

Woodland International Summer SchoolOur International Summer School has designed to provide complete British experience. Here pupils not only learn English but also come face-to-face with history in some Europe’s oldest cultural centers. They can also enjoy exciting activities.

About the Course

This course is made for boys and girls from 10 to 16 years old and provide a wonderful chance to experience life in a traditional British boarding (寄宿) school.

English Lessons

This programme provides 24 hours of English teaching each week. Students study grammar, writing, speaking, listening, reading and comprehension. They can practise their new skills while interviewing visitors and local people in the town of Woodland and villages around.

Hike & Entertainment

Each week includes cultural and activity trips. In this way, our hike will be following.

Brooklyn Children’s MuseumBrooklyn Children’s Museum was the first museum created specially for children when it was built in 1899. It is the world’s oldest children’s museum, and it is in Brooklyn, New York.

The Center for Puppetry (木偶) ArtsThe Center for Puppetry Arts in Atlanta; Georgia was built 42 years ago. It is the nation’s largest organization only for the art form of puppetry. It mainly has three areas: performance, education and museum.

Chicago Children’s MuseumThe Chicago Children’s Museum is at Navy Pier (海军港) in Chicago. Illinois. It was built in 1982. It is the 4th largest children’s museum in the United States. The museum serves 500,000 people each year.

Children’s Museum of HoustonThe Children’s Museum of Houston in Texas was built in 1980 by a group of local Houston parents. Educators in science are encouraged to use the museum to cultivate (培养) interest about physics and life.

Novel Game

Prize: $1,000

Deadline: September 25, 2021

Fee(费用): FreeThe Novel Game was created for the next generation(代) of novel writers. Only one person can finally take home the final prize of $1,000. According to the rule, the writer must be 16 years old or younger, and hand in a novel or a series of short stories.

Ocean Protection Match

Prize: $500

Deadline: December 15, 2021

Fee: 50 yuan per personThe Ocean Protection Match aims to praise writers while calling on everyone to protect the ocean. You can submit(提交) films, music, poetry, or short videos. You can even submit as a club, class or group if you want.

Short Play Match

Prize: $100 to $500

Deadline: March 31,2022

Fee: FreeAnyone can hand in a 10-minute play to take part in the match. The play can be at most 10 pages and can be of any topic. Those plays will be judged(评判) by college professors. You can enter www.shortplay.com for an entry(参赛) form, the best short plays and the names of the former winners.

Story Match

Prize: $1,000

Deadline: 21st of each month

Fee: FreeIn this match, writers have to write a 36-word story. The story must be 36 words—no more and no less. Only stories are allowed, and each writer can only write one story.

Torch

The 2022 Winter Olympic and Paralympic torches look like two flying ribbons (丝带). While the Paralympic one shares the same design with small changes—golden inside instead of red, with the outside painted silver.

Flame Lantern

The lantern, which will be used to hold the Olympic flame on exhibition trips, symbolizes long-lasting warmth. The lantern shape is like a traditional Chinese scroll (卷轴), also a feature of the 2008 Games’ main cauldron (圣火盆).

Olympic Sports

More than 100 sports will be played in Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics and Paralympics, including snowboard, speed skating and so on.

I have set myself a goal to step on the top of the podium where winners played in Beijing 2022 Winter are at the Olympics ever since the first time I put on skis. Beijing 2022 means a lot to me.
