定义：在句子中起名字作用的句子，在句子中可以充当主语、表语、宾语、同位语成分。 分类

1.that，whether，if：在从句中不充当主成分。that 连接陈述句，本身无意义；whether、if 连接一般疑问句，意思为“是否”。 例 That he surrived the earthquake is a miracle. We dn’t knw if/weather he will believe us .一般而言，whether和if 在引导宾语从句时，可以互换。但以下情况只能用whether：whether和if都可以引导主语从句，但是，放在句首的主语从句只能用whether。 例 Whether she will cme n time is unknwn.
引导介词宾语从句时只能用whether。 例 I am curius as t whether she will cme n time. I am nt sure if/whether she will cme n time.引导表语从句只能用whether。 例 The questin is whether she will cme n time.引导同位语从句，只能用whether。 例 The prblem whether we shuld wait fr her has nt been slved.固定结构 nt. 例 I am nt sure whether she will cme n time r nt.固定结构：whether＋不定式，即 whether t d . 例 I dn’t knw whether t attend his wedding.
dubt 后接 that,whether/if 的句意区别：例 I dubt that he is guilty.我不信他有罪。 =I dn’t think he is guilty.I dubt whether/if he is guilty.我不知道他是否有罪。 =I am nt sure whether he is guilty r nt.I dn’t dubt that he is guilty. 我相信他是有罪的。 =I believe that he is guilty.I suspect that he is guilty. 我怀疑他有罪。 =I think that he is guilty.
2.连接代词wh，whm，whse， what， which， whatever，whichever，whever在名词性从句中充当主语、宾语、表语、定语等成分。例 Have yu decided which bk t read first.(which 引导宾语从句，同时在从句中充当bk的定语。) Wh will be invited has nt been decided.(wh 引导主语从句，同时在从句中充当主语。)what引导的名词性从句根据不同含义分为两种类型：疑问代词型名词从句、连接性代词型名词从句。疑问代词型名词从句 what意为“什么”、“哪些”、“怎样”等疑问语意的词，可以充当主语、宾语、表语、插入语等。
例 I have nt made up my mind what ptinal curses I will take next rerm.（作定语） 我还没决定下学期上哪些选修课。 He desn’t mind what peple think f him.(作宾补) 他不在意人们怎么看他。 What made him cnfused is what happened in the accident.(作主语) 令他困惑的是在那场事故中发生了什么。连接代词型名词性从句中，what相当于一个名词加一个定语从句，意为“所的东西”，在句子中作主语、宾语、表语、插入语等。 What is trubling me is that I dn’t have experience in this kind f wrk.（作主语） 使我感到麻烦的是，我没有多少这种工作的经验。

3.连接副词when,where,hw,why,在名词性从句中充当状语成分。例 We did nt knw why the meeting was pstpned. (why 引导宾语从句，why在从句中充当原因状语。)Can yu find ut hw t slve the prblems?(hw 引导介词宾语从句，hw在从句中充当方式状语。)I dn’t knw where I can find them.(where 引导宾语从句，where在从句中充当地点状语。)
4.wh/what/which/when/where/hw-ever的用法，表示不确定的泛指“任何、无论”。whever=n matter wh （anyne wh）无论谁 （任何人）whatever=n matter what (anything that) 无论什么 （任何事）whichever=n matter which (anything which) 无论哪一个 （任何一个）whenever=n matter when (anytime when) 无论什么时候wherever=n matter where (any place where) 无论哪里 无论什么地方hwever=n matter hw (any way in which) 无论如何 无论怎样例 Wh will be the new manager has nt been decided. 定义：主语从句是在复合句中做主语的从句。位置：一般出现在句首，谓语动词之前。多数情况下，为平衡句子结构，常用it代替主语从句，将主语从句后置，it充当形式主语。例When he will be back is still unknw.Whever cmes is welcme.What makes me angry is his attitude.Hw this happened is nt yet clearIt is nt imprtant wh will g.注意：由what，whatever，whever等引导的主语从句一般不能用it作形式主语。
