一、教学内容分析
本单元围绕“过生日”这一话题，通过询问生日的具体日期及谈论在生日里所做的事情展开对话。通过Su Hai和Mike这两位小朋友谈论“过生日”，让学生了解中西方文化中不同的生日风俗习惯。本单元话题贴近学生的生活实际，教师可以通过开展丰富多彩的教学活动，如“班级生日会”等形式，让学生在真实的情境中理解本单元的语言知识，达到学以致用的效果。

4. 能正确的理解并朗读课文，在教师的引导和帮助下尝试复述课文内容。

Step 1: Warm- up
1. Enjoy a song. (Happy birthday.)
2. Free talk
T: Today, we will talk about birthdays. (学习：birthday )
When’s your birthday?
S: My birthday is on ….
T: Do you know my birthday? How can you ask me?
T: My birthday is on the third of May.
(板书：When’s your birthday? My birthday is on the… of …. )
Let’s learn.
学习：the eleventh of May the eighth of April
T: What do you usually eat on your birthday?
学习：a birthday cake eat noodles
T: What do you usually do on your birthday?
学习：have a party play games
T: So, I think you always have a good time on your birthday.
Step 2 Story time
- Watch and answer
T: Where are they? What are they talking about? Please watch the cartoon carefully and try to find the answers.
T: Miss Li, Su Hai and Mike are in the classroom. They are talking about birthdays too.
T: Whose birthdays are they talking about?
They are talking about ________ 's birthdays.
3.Read and find
T: Read the story carefully and answer the questions:
(1) When’s Su Hai’s birthday?
(2) When’s Mike’s birthday?
(教师板书这两个问题。)
S: Su Hai’s birthday is on the 11th of May
S: Mike’s birthday is on the 8th of April
学习：eighth, eleventh.
4. Read and choose
T: Let’s read the story carefully. What do Su Yang and Su hai do on their birthdays?
学习：have a big dinner, eat some noodles, play with Kitty the cat
T: How do they feel?
S: They are....
T: Do they have a great time? 学习：have a great time
跟读第一部分对话。
T: What does Mike do on his birthday?
学习：have a party, buy a birthday cake, eat the birthday cake, play some games
T: How do they feel?
S: They are happy.
T: They have a lot of fun. 学习：have a lot of fun
跟读第二部分对话。
5.Let’s retell.
(1) 教师带领学生根据板书复述课文。
(2) 小组复述。可选择复述自己喜欢的人物。

T: Do you spend your birthday like Su Hai or Mike?
S1: Su Hai.
S2: Mike.
T: Su Hai is a Chinese girl. Mike is an English boy. They do different things on their birthdays.
But now most of the children blow out the candles, make a wish and eat the birthday cakes on their birthdays in China, too. (中国人过生日的文化已经吸收了很多西方元素，因此，中西方生日文化差异已经不是很明显了。)
