定语从句是指修饰某一名词或代词的从句。定语从句的引导词可分为关系代词(that，which， wh，whm，whse)和关系副词(where，when，why 等)。长沙中考主要考查关系代词。 长沙市近六年定语从句考频统计：
关系代词 wh，whm，whse，which，that 在定语从句中的作用见下表：
考点 1 ：wh
wh 指人，在定语从句中作主语。
【例如】：The by wh speaks English very well is frm America.
那个英语说得很好的男孩来自美国。
【注意】：当关系代词在从句中作主语时，从句的谓语动词要与先行词保持主谓一致。
【例如】：He is ne f the bys wh like playing basketball. 他是喜欢打篮球的男孩之一。
考点 2 ：whm
whm 指人，在定语从句中作宾语，常可省略。
【例如】：The lady(wh/whm)he is talking t is his girlfriend.
正在和他交谈的那位女士是他的女友。
考点 3 ：which
which 指物，在定语从句中作主语或宾语，作宾语时常省略。
【例如】：The building which is being built will be used as a hspital.

that 既可以指人，也可以指物。指人时，相当于 wh 或 whm；指物时，相当于 which。that
作宾语时常省略。
【例如】：Tmat is a vegetable that/which is gd fr health.
西红柿是一种对健康有益的蔬菜。(指物，作主语)

我在报纸上看到的那位女运动员刚刚获得了一枚金牌。(指人，作宾语)
考点 5 ：whse
whse 通常指人的，也可以指物的，在定语从句中作定语。
【例如】：Mr. Green lives in a huse whse rf is red.
格林先生住在一幢红色屋顶的房子里。(指物的)

考点 6：关系词只能用 that 的情况：
先行词被序数词或形容词最高级所修饰，或本身是序数词、基数词、形容词最高级时，只能用 that，而不用 which。
被修饰的先行词为all, any, much, many, little, few, everything, anything, nne, the ne 等不定代词时，只能用 that, 而不用 which.
先行词被 the nly, the very, the same, the last 等词修饰时，只能用 that, 而不用 which.
先行词里同时含有人或物时，只能用 that，而不用 which.
以 wh 或 which 引导的特殊疑问句，为避免重复，只能用 that.
