Ⅰ Teaching aims:
1. Knowledge aims:
Ss can read, understand and use the new words and phrases. Such as gate, husband, honest, trust, value, the value of … ect.
2. Ability aims:
a. Ss can get some reading abilities. (such as scanning and reading the text quickly to get the main idea)
b. Ss can improve the reading comprehension to some degree. (such as getting message from what they read)
c. Ss can retell the text using their own words and tell a story.
3. Emotion aims:
Make the Ss know the value of honesty and be honest men.
Ⅱ Teaching important and difficult points:

a. Ss can understand and use the new words and phrases.
b. Ss can read the text and get the main idea and specific ideas.
c. Ss can tell a story about honesty.

a. How to use the language points learned in the text

(1)Tell the title of today’s lesson and learn new words and phrases according to some wonderful pictures. (2)Ask Ss to read the words and try to remember them. (3)Ask Ss to finish exercise 2 on page 73 and check the answers.
Introduce the background of the story and lead in the class.
(1) Listening
Q1: What does the shop most probably look like? (choose a picture) Q2: What did Rose do in the shop?
(2) Fast reading Ask Ss to read the last two paragraphs and answer three questions and check the answers. Q1: What’s Ms. Liu’s great idea? Q2: What’s the value of her idea? Q3: What quality is the most important to open such a shop?
(3) Careful reading
Phrases: go on a trip to sp., decide to do sth., raise money, learn from, the value of Object clause: She was surprised that the farmer trusted others.
(1) Ask Ss to try to retell the story with the help of the structure on the task learning paper. (2) Ask Ss to tell another story of honesty.
Ⅲ Homework Assignment Ask Ss to finish exercise 3 on page 73 and tell a story about honesty.
