Whenever Jasmine had time, she went t check n Madeline and take care f her. Jasmine wuld massage Madeline’s ears, scratch her neck and pat her head befre feeding her sme fresh water and hay. Slwly but surely, the white hrse regained her appetite and strength. A week later, she was fully recvered frm the illness. Jasmine was mre than happy t see Madeline lking healthy again, but she was nt sure whether r nt Madeline culd participate in that race. There were nly three days left befre the race tk place. Jasmine asked Grace what she thught, and Grace encuraged her t g fr it. She and Madeline trained hard within the limited time.
On the day f the race, Jasmine headed t the race curse with Madeline. As the race began, she strked Madeline’s neck and the hrse gallped alng the curse. After a strng start, they were passed by several cmpetitrs and were sn way behind. Halfway thrugh the race, they sped up and narrwed the gap. In the final lap, they drew level with the leading pair and passed them right befre the finish line. What a narrw victry! Everything felt like a dream as Jasmine accepted the prize mney. She placed her arms arund Madeline’s neck and wept tears f jy. “We’ve made it!” she chked. “Nw we dn’t have t be apart anymre!”
