    2. As China is becoming more and more powerful, it has the ability to help more other countries in more aspects . Here is an example of China aid.Show the picture of open page.

    Some young people in Africa are enjoying water at a new well which was dug by China.

    3.Draws out the topic: In order to build a shared future with mankind, It is everyone’s responsibility to help the needy.

    What does “the needy”  mean  ?

    It means people who do not have enough moneyfood, education, and all the things that are necessary for people to live a happy and comfortable life.

    Here is another example to help the needy. A young Australian, Jo, worked for two years as a volunteer teacher in Papua New Guinea.

    1. How much do you know about Papua New Guinea?

    It is located just to the north of Australia. It is a developing country, 40% of the population is self-sustaining and have little money or no experience of having money, getting a salary, or buying things in shops. Many communities don’t have school.Many schools have volunteer groups helping them.

    2.What can you see in the photos?

    A typical classroom in a Papua New Guinea village. It is open-air. Though it has a grass roof, it has no walls.

    3.What challenges do you think Jo might have faced?

    It would be hard to get used to living without a Tv, computer, or other modern conveniences. The food and overall lifestyle might also be a challenge, as it is so different from her country. As a teacher, getting good teaching materials and supplies would also be hard.

    We goto a school that has all the conveniences of modern society so there is no comparison at all.We have plenty of equipment and suppliescomfortable chairs air-conditioningcomputersetc.

    3. Would you like to become a volunteer teacher like Jo? Why or why not?

     I think it would be interesting to do that for a while.It would be a good opportunity to make a difference to someone else’s life, and also to learn about a new culture.
