Cell Phone Addiction (瘾)
Almost everyone today has a cell phone. However, many people cannot get rid of cell phones because phones have become part of daily life.
As the addiction to the smartphone has become a serious problem, it causes many effects in life. Most phone users look down at their phones for a long time. When hunching (弓背) or bending their neck, they put serious pressure on the neck and backbone. And this will cause a sore back or a neck ache. According to studies, as high as 45% of the young people from age 16 to 24 these days suffer back pain because of the heavy usage of smartphones. Also, trying to focus on and look at the screen of the phone for a long time will discomfort eyes and may cause loss of vision (视力). Besides, if someone brings the phone to sleep with, he or she will unconsciously (无意地) spend more time on the phone than sleep. It's true that phones make life more convenient, but that doesn't mean they can take control of life.
To get rid of phones, you can create a phone-free time. For example, turn off your phone or stop it from the Internet after 8:00 P.M. At that time, you can spend time on anything but phone so that you won't check on your phone. Just like smoking, phone addiction is habitual. You must replace the habit with another if you want to overcome it. So find a few things to do whenever you are not using your phone, such as reading a book or exercising.
Of course, it's not easy to get rid of a habit and the beginning is the most challenging. That's why having a strong idea really makes a big difference. Remember, do not let your phone become your ▲ and you become the bond servant.

While we often question our failures and agree them with luck or fate (命运), we proudly relate our success to hard work. For most people, we don't have a choice, as hard work is the only thing in our control. Therefore, we should keep working hard and give it a shot rather than complaining luck or fate.
However, life is not always fair. It does not give equal opportunities to everyone. Most of the families in our country struggle hard for a living. Most of these people work hard, but only a few of them become successful. So hard work cannot be a determining (决定性的) factor for success, though it's a necessary factor.
There is another way to look at luck or fate. Life throws opportunities at everyone, but not everyone catches them at the right time. People who grab these opportunities are the ones who succeed in fighting against difficulties. In fact, it is not because we have fewer opportunities but because we are unable to see these opportunities. Sometimes, we can see them by keeping an eye on them, but sometimes opportunities need to be created by hard work. Luck and fate cannot limit what a person can do; It can just facilitate (使……更容易) progress.
All in all, life is not fair. Not everyone has equal opportunities. But that should not stop us from working hard. We should keep fighting against the difficulties to achieve our dreams.

34. What would be the main idea of this passage?
A. Life is not always fair. B. Luck matters, but hard work is a necessity.
C. Keep an eye on opportunity. D. Work hard and fight against all odds.
35. Which suggestion is wrong when you worked hard in English learning for a period of time but failed in the last exam?
A. Ask your teacher or parents for help.
