Lesson 25: Jenny’s Family
设计说明 首先,通过Free talk谈论学生的家庭成员,引入本课对家庭成员的学习;接着,利用图片,通过谈论王先生一家的成员来学习本课生词及短语;并通过介绍自己家人来练习新学词汇;再通过展示Jenny’s family members的图片导入课文第一部分的学习,并阅读回答问题;然后,通过听后匹配、读后回答问题、边听边找短语并翻译、根据图片复述课文等环节逐步深入地学习课文第二部分的内容;最后,处理本课剩余的练习题。整个课堂环节融入了听、说、读、写、译五种技能,全面培养学生的学习技能。 教学目标 通过本课节的教学,学生达成以下目标: 1.知识目标 掌握单词:member, son, daughter, drive, policeman, radio 短语和句型:the Smith family, talk on the police radio, walk to school, —What does she do? —She is a… 2.能力目标 (1) 掌握有关家庭成员的英语称呼; (2) 能用英语简单地介绍自己的家人。 3.情感目标 了解家人,关爱家人。 重点难点 1.重点:掌握本课节的重点单词、短语和句型。 2.难点:能用英语简单地介绍自己的家人。 教学准备 PPT 课件;家人的照片;与本课节相关的音频。 授课时数 1课时 教学过程 Step 1 Free talk. Have a talk with some of the students individually. T: XXX,how many people are there in your family? S1: …(数字)They’re my father, mother, sister, brother... T: What’s your father’s/mother’s/…name? S1: He’s/She’s.... T: What does your father/mother/… do? S1: He’s/ She’s… Step 2 Presentation 1. Teach the new words member, son, daughter, drive, policeman, radio and the phrase talk on the police radio by talking about the family tree. Teacher says: Look at the family tree. These are Mr. Wang’s family members. This is Mr. Wang, and this is Mrs. Wang. They have three children. Wang Hai is their son. He is a policeman. He has a radio. Now, he is talking on the police radio. Wang Ling and Wang Ning are their daughters. Wang Ling is a teacher. Wang Ning is a driver. Now she is driving a car. 2. Get the class to practice reading the new words and phrase aloud. 3. Get the class to introduce their own family members like this: These are my family members. I’m... I’m a student. This is my father— Mr. ..., and this is my mother—Mrs. ... I’m their... I have a brother/... His/Her name is... He’s a policeman/... And this is my sister/... Her/His name is... She is a driver/... I love my family. I have a happy family. Step 3 Looking and introducing Show the class Jenny’s family members, and get the class to practice introducing Jenny’s family members.
Step 4 Reading and answering Get the class to read Part 1 of the lesson and answer the question. Where does Jenny live? Answer: In Canada. Step 5 Listening and matching Teacher says: This is the Smith family. Listen and match. (Let’s Do It! No. 1)
Answers: (Above) Step 6 Reading and answering Get the class to read Part 2 of the lesson, and answer the following questions. (Let’s Do It! No. 2) 1. What is Mary Smith doing? 2. Step 7 Listening, finding and translating Play the recording for the class to listen and find the following expressions, and then translate them. 1. the Smith family_________________ 2. live in ____________ 3. Get the class to read the dialogue following the recording together. 2. Get the class to retell the passage in Part 2 according to the pictures.
Step 9 Exercises 1. Work in groups. Play Guess and Do. One student performs an action and the others guess what he or she is doing. Take turns acting and guessing. (Let’s Do It! No.3) For example: A: What is he/she doing? Group: He / She is… 2. Work in groups. Bring some photos of your family. Talk about them. Then write about one photo and present it to the class. Step 11 Language points 1. Jenny’s family members 詹妮的家庭成员 member n. 成员。多指团体、组织等的成员、会员。 a member of… ……的一员 I’m a member of a music club. 我是音乐俱乐部的一员。 2. We are the Smith family. 我们是史密斯一家。 夫妇二人”,作主语时,谓语动词用复数形式。 3. She is driving a bus. 她正在驾驶公共汽车。 ① vt. 驾驶;用车送…… Tom can drive a truck.汤姆能开卡车。 Let me drive you to school.让我开车送你去学校吧。 ② n. 驱车旅行 Let’s go for a drive.咱们去开车兜风吧。 【拓展】 driver n. 司机 a bus driver 一位公共汽车司机 4. My brother is a policeman. 我哥哥是一名警察。 policeman n. (男)警察 复数形式为policemen。 policewoman意为“女警察”,其复数形式为policewomen。 He is a policeman.他是一名警察。 Three policemen are in the street. 街道上有三名警察。 5.
