Writing: A letter for the food project
设计说明 先查明学生对于信件书写了解多少,借此了解学情,这对接下来讲解如何写信,会有很好的帮助。学习课本中的信件,可以设置朗读、听录音、回答问题的形式,要求学生掌握信件的基本信息。接下来,设置写信的环节,给出信件的主要格式,让学生结合范例自己写一封信,锻炼学生的写作技能,并培养他们运用所学知识解决实际问题的能力,最终提高他们的学习效果。 教学目标 通过本课节的教学,让学生达成以下目标: 1.知识目标 学习信件的书写。 2.能力目标 能够读懂书信;能够独立给某个食品厂写一封信。 3.情感目标 培养学生积极主动的心态,提高解决问题的能力。 重点难点 重点:信件的书写。 难点:能够读懂书信;能够独立给某个食品厂写一封信。 教学准备 PPT课件;活动Read and write的录音。 授课时数 1课时 教学过程 Step 1 Warming up Find out what the students know about letter writing. Ask: How do you begin/end a letter?
Step 2 Reading and answering 1. Give the students time to read the letter on page 85. 2. Play the recording. Ask the students to follow in their books. 3. Select individual students to read a paragraph. 4. Ask them to answer the following questions about the letter. (1) Who is the letter to/from? (2)What’s the date on the letter? (3)What is Peter doing? (4)What would he like to do? 5. Allow them to check the answers in pairs. 6. Check the answers together. Answers: (1) The letter is to someone in Kingfisher Frozen Food Factory. The letter is from Peter Chen. (2) 25 March. (3) He is doing a school project about food. (4) He would like to interview someone at the factory.
Step 3 Writing 1. Let the students write a letter to the manager of the place he/she would like to visit for his/her food project. 2. First, let them think the following questions to help them make a framework of the writing. (1) What is your food project going to be about? (2) Which factory/company are you going to visit? (3) Who would you like to interview? 3. They can use the letter above as a guide.
4. Select one or two individual students to read out their letters. 5. One possible version:
Step 4 Language points What date will be convenient for me to visit your factory? 我什么时候去你们工厂参观方便呢? date〔名词〕日期 询问日期时,常用句型“What date is it...?”或“What’s the date...?” What date is it today?/What’s the date today?今天是几月几号?
Step 5 Homework 1. Improve your letter. 2. Preview “Reading: An interview at the frozen food factory”.
