    Listening and speaking: Planning a trip to Beijing

    设计说明

    结合图片,让学生以结对问答的形式熟悉句式表达“Have you been to/travelled/visited…?”“Yes, I have./No, I haven’t.”,并呈现生词,为后面的学习做好语言铺垫,由此引入新课。通过设置有关听力的几个任务活动,训练学生听取大意、听辨细节信息的能力,并让学生熟悉话题,为后面的活动做铺垫。通过结对练习对话以及在全班同学面前朗读,让学生敢于表达,乐于表现,积极参与。通过让学生看照片回答问题,训练他们提炼有效信息的能力,让他们积极参与运用英语的实践活动。通过让学生讨论李先生一家将如何去北京,训练他们运用所学知识积极思考、解决问题的能力。对重要的知识点进行讲解,增加学生的语言积累。结合当堂达标的练习,检测学生对本课节知识的掌握情况,提升语言运用能力。

    教学目标

    通过本课节的教学,让学生达成以下目标:

    1.知识目标

    掌握本课节新词汇:invite, expensive, talk to, brochure, agent, soon

    熟悉现在完成时的用法;

    学会用形容词进行比较。

    2.能力目标

    能听懂有关旅行计划的对话,能谈论旅行计划。

    3.情感目标

    培养学生的亲情意识,使学生感悟亲情,理解亲情。

    重点难点

    重点能听懂有关旅行计划的对话。

    难点能谈论旅行计划。

    教学准备

    PPT课件;活动Say and act的录音,活动Listen and say的录音。

    教学过程

    Step 1 Warming up

    1. Show some pictures. Let the students work in pairs. Ask and answer questions about places that they visited like this:

    A: Have you been to/travelled/visited…?

    B: Yes, I have./No, I haven’t.

      

    Qingdao                         Shenzhen

     

    Harbin                     Hong Kong

     

    Step 2 Presentation

    Present some new words: invite, expensive, agent, talk to, brochure.

    Step 3 Listen and say

    Task 1

    1. Play the recording.

    2. Ask the students to listen to the dialogue and answer the question: Which is cheaper, a plane ticket or a train ticket?

    3. Check the answer together.

    Answer: A train ticket.

    Task 2

    1. Ask the students to read the dialogue and answer the questions.

    (1) Who sent the letter to the Li’s?

    (2) When will they go to Beijing?

    (3) Has Ben seen his cousins before?

    (3) How old are Ben’s cousins?

    (4) Are plane tickets cheap?

    2. Check the answers in groups.

    Answers:

    (1) Uncle Weiming.

    (2) In August.

    (3) No, he hasn’t.

    (3) Simon is twelve and Lucy is ten.

    (4) No, they aren’t.

    Task 3

    1. Let the students read the dialogue again and complete the sentences according to the dialogue.

    (1) Mr Li has got a letter from U_______ Weiming.

    (2) He l_______ in B_______.

    (3) He i_______ Ben’s family to s_______ with his family in A_______.

    (4) And he has s_______ them a photograph.

    (5) Simon and Lucy are Ben’s c_______.

    Task 4:

    1. Get the students to practise the dialogue in pairs.

    2. Ask some pairs to read the dialogue in front of the class.

     

    Step 4 Look, read and answer

    1. Ben is telling Kitty something about the photograph.

    Ben: Here’s a photograph from Uncle Weiming. We’re going to visit his family soon.

    2. Kitty is asking some questions.

    (1) Where does Uncle Weiming live?

    (2) When are we going to visit him?

    (3) What are the names of our cousins?

    (4) How old are they?

    3. Read the dialogue again and help Ben answer Kittys questions.

    4. Check the answers.

    Answers:

    (1) He lives in Beijing.

    (2) We are going to visit him in August.

    (3) Their names are Simon and Lucy.

    (4) Simon is twelve and Lucy is ten.

     

    Step 5 Discussion

    Discuss and think about how they will go to Beijing. Let the students give their reasons.  

     

    Step 6 Language points

    1. He has invited us to stay with his family in August.

    他邀请我们八月份和他们一家人同住。

    invite 〔动词〕邀请

    invite sb. to do sth. 邀请某人做某事

    They invited me to visit their factory.他们邀请我参观他们的工厂。

    invite sb. to+地点名词  邀请某人去某地

    Let’s invite him to the birthday party.我们邀请他来生日聚会吧。

    【拓展】invitation〔名词〕请柬

    2. Are we going to travel to Beijing by plane?

    我们要乘飞机去北京旅行吗?

    by plane乘飞机

    by+交通工具名词”表示交通方式。

    Lucy goes to school by bus.露西乘公交车去上学。

    【注意】此时表示交通工具的名词,只能用单数,而且不能有代词或冠词修饰。

    【拓展】表示交通方式的其他形式:

    by+地理名词    by sea从海路

    in/on+a/the+交通工具名词  

    How about going there in a car?乘小汽车去那儿怎么样?

    We want to go to the zoo on a bike.我们想骑自行车去动物园。

    take+a/the+交通工具名词

    We’ll go to London by train, and then take a bus.

    我们将坐火车到伦敦,然后转乘公共汽车。

    walk to+某地/go to +某地+on foot步行去某地

    He often walks to school.他经常步行去上学。

    3. Perhaps, but plane tickets are every expensive.

    也许吧,但是飞机票非常昂贵。

    expensive形容词〕昂贵的

    其反义词是cheap“便宜的expensive的比较级是more expensive

    My father buys an expensive car.我爸爸买了一辆昂贵的小汽车。

    I don’t like this one. It’s more expensive.我不喜欢这一个。它更贵。

    【注意】物品分贵(expensive)贱(cheap);价格分高(high)低(low)。

    The price of the desk is high.这张桌子的价格很高。

    The desk is expensive.这张桌子很贵。

    4. Here’s a photograph from Uncle Weiming.

    这是卫明叔叔寄来的一张照片。

    倒装句:在以herethere等副词开头的句子中,如果主语是名词,主谓全部倒装。

    Here is a new dictionary for you.这是给你的一本新字典。

    There comes the bus.公交车来了。

    【拓展】如果主语是人称代词,主谓不倒装。

    There they come.他们来了。

    5. We’re going to visit his family soon.

    不久以后,我们将要去看望他一家人。

    soon 副词〕不久;很快;马上

    常与一般将来时连用。

    We will have a new school soon.不久我们将有一所新学校。

    6. How old are they?他们多大了?

    how old多大;几岁

    用于询问年龄,其答语为“主语+be+数字.”“主语+be+数字+year(s) old.或直接用数字回答。

    —How old is your brother?你弟弟几岁了?

    —He is five/ He is five years old/Five.他五岁了。

    【注意】一般不能直接询问陌生人的年龄,尤其不能询问女性的年龄。

     

    Step 7 Homework

    1. Read and remember the new words and the conversation.
