设计说明 首先通过介绍自己的问题导入新课,同时呈现相关的生词,然后引入学生的问题,通过问他们一些问题,学习讨论学生问题,由此开展对话。通过Hobo和Eddie的对话,提出本单元所涉及的话题,让大家对本单元产生兴趣,最后通过练习来复习本课时的内容。 教学目标 通过本课时的教学,让学生达成以下目标: 1.知识目标 掌握单词和短语:teenage, mark, mad, exam, perhaps, drive sb. mad。 2.能力目标 (1)通过听说训练,学会描述青少年问题。 (2)通过听说训练,激起学生对本单元的兴趣,培养学生的听说能力。 3.情感目标 让学生了解青少年问题,并学会积极解决问题,培养良好的个人品质,健康成长。 重点难点 重点:掌握单词和短语,学会描述青少年问题。 难点:灵活使用生词和短语。 教学准备 PPT 课件;相关图片。 授课时数 1课时 教学过程 Step 1 Lead-in The teacher shows his/her own problem by saying “I didn’t sleep well. There was too much noise. The noise almost drove me mad.” Step 2 Presentation 1. Show students some pictures and present some new words. At the same time, present some teenage problems: (1)have too much homework to do, do not get enough sleep (2)have too many tests and exams, feel stressed and tired (3)eat too much, get fat, can’t do well in sports (4)do not listen to the teacher carefully, get low marks in exams (5)have no close friends, feel lonely (6)parents are too strict (7)parents work all day, have no time for children (8)do not get enough sleep, feel sleepy in class 2. Ask them to think about other problems they may have. Step 3 Welcome to the unit 1. A. Ask the students to talk about the students’ problems and fill in the blanks. 2. Discussion: What other problems do you have? 3. Ask them to offer some advice to the students who have such kind of problems. 4. Deal with B. (1)Listen to the tape and fill in the form. (2)Listen and practice the dialogue in pairs. (3)Make up similar dialogues in pairs. A: I’ve got a problem, and I feel angry/sad/worried/stressed… B: I’m sorry to hear that. Why? A: … B: I think…/Why don’t you…?/How about…? A: OK, I’ll try. Thanks for listening to my problem and giving me advice. B: My pleasure. Step 4 Comic strip 1. Ask students to listen to the tape about Hobo and Eddie. Answer the questions. (1)What problem does Eddie have? (2)Why does he have the problem? (3)What advice does Hobo give Eddie? (4)Does Hobo really want to help Eddie? Why or why not? Answers:(1)He is getting fat. (2)He eats too much. (3)He advises Eddie to eat less and exercise more. (4)No, he just wants to eat Eddie’s food. 2. Listen and read the dialogue in pairs. 3. Act it out. 4. Fill in the blanks according to the dialogue. Recently Eddie __________ a problem. His __________ looks bigger than before. He’s __________ fat because of ___________too much. Hobo advises him to eat__________ and __________ more. Eddie agrees with Hobo. Then Hobo plans to help him. He will ________ the food for Eddie. In fact, he doesn’t really want to help Eddie. He just wants to have the food. Of course, this makes Eddie very _________. You eat too much. 你吃得太多了。 too much太多,修饰不可数名词;too many 太多,修饰可数名词复数; much too 太……,修饰形容词或副词。 Don’t eat too much ice cream. 不要吃太多冰激凌。 There are too many books on the desk. 有很多书在桌子上。 Lily is much too fat. 莉莉太胖了。 2. The TV is always on at my home. 我家的电视一直开着。 on 副词,表示处于工作状态中,在进行着。 Hurry up. The film has been on for ten minutes. 快点儿, 电影已经放映十分钟了。 The light is on. Mr. Smith must be in the office. 灯还亮着, 史密斯先生肯定还在办公室里。 3. The noise almost drives me mad. 这个噪音几乎使我发疯。 mad形容词,意为“发疯的,生气的”。 drive sb. mad 使某人发疯 It has rained heavily for over a week and they have to stay at home. It nearly drives them mad. 大雨已下了一个多星期,他们不得不待在家里,他们几乎要发疯了。 4. I don’t have any close friends. 我没有亲密的朋友。 close adj. 亲密的 n. 结束v. 关;结束;使靠近 adv. 紧密地 closed adj. 关着的;不公开的 Mum sat close to me and kept her eyes closed.妈妈闭着眼睛坐在我的身边。 Step 6 Homework 1. Revise the content learnt in this period. 2. Preview Reading and finish the exercises on Page 38 and Page 39. 当堂达标 根据汉语提示完成句子。 1. We must pay attention to _________(青少年的)problems. 2.
