    Unit 3 Language in use

    设计说明

    本单元是复习单元,通过对比中西方学生的一天进入课堂,激发学生的兴趣,以复习的形式进行教学,能很快帮助学生回忆起所学过的内容,巩固所学的知识。本课从指导学生朗读Language practice中的句子入手,紧跟单元所设习题进行针对性训练。旨在提升学生的语言运用能力。

    教学目标

    通过本单元的教学,让学生达成以下目标:

    1. 知识目标

    复习巩固本模块所学生词、短语和句型。

    2. 能力目标

    能够描述理想的校园生活。

    3. 情感目标

    通过复习,让同学们热爱校园生活。

    重点难点

    重点本模块的重点词汇、句型。

    难点能够表达在学校中一天的生活。

    教学过程

    Step 1 Warming up

    Discussion

    Talk about the differences between Chinese, English and American school days. Show some pictures to the students.

    e. g. We have classes at seven o’clock.

    They have classes at nine o’clock. They don’t have classes at about three o’clock in the afternoon.

    Schools in Britain:

    Most schools have a five-day week.

    There is a break of 15 or 20 minutes in the morning and sometimes also in the afternoon.

    Many students take a packed lunch (午餐盒)from home, and others have school meals for which parents must pay.

    Schools in the USA:

    Students must study a science, but they can choose whether (是否) to take chemistry, physics or biology. Many students go to school in a school bus. But many students learn to drive at 16. They go to school in their own car.           

    Step 3 Language practice

    1. Read through the example sentences in the box with the whole class.

    We have Chinese at eight o’clock.

    We don’t have maths.

    Do you like maths?

    Yes , I do.

    In the evening , I watch TV and have dinner with my family.

    2. Ask the students to repeat the sentences in the box.

    3. Grammar: The present simple

    行为动词的一般现在时

    1用法:

    (1) 表示经常性或习惯性的动作,常与表示频度的时间状语连用,如: always, usually, often, sometimes , every day/week/year等。

    I go to school at 7: 00 every morning.

    我每天早上7点去上学。

    (2) 表示客观真理、客观存在或科学事实。

    The earth moves around the sun.

    地球围绕太阳转。

    (3) 用于格言或警句。

    Practice makes perfect.

    熟能生巧。

    (4) 表示现在的特征或状态、能力、性格、爱好等。

    He does well in drawing.

    他擅长画画。

    2. 行为动词的一般现在时的句式结构

    行为动词的一般现在时分为主语是非第三人称单数和第三人称单数两种。本模块我们学习主语是非第三人称单数的一般现在时形式。

    肯定句结构:主语+动词原形+其他.

    They live far away from school.

    他们住得离学校很远。

    否定句结构:主语+ dont+动词原形+其他.

    They don’t live far away from school.

    他们住得离学校不远。

    一般疑问句结构:Do+主语+动词原形+其他?

    Do they live far away from school?

    他们住得离学校远吗?

    Yes, they do. /No, they don’t.

    是的,他们住得远。/不,他们住得不远。

    【注意】do除了作助动词之外,还可用作行为动词,意为“做”。

    They do their homework in the evening.

    他们晚上做作业。

    They dont do their homework in the evening.

    他们晚上不做作业。

    Do they do their homework in the evening?

    他们晚上做作业吗?

    Step 3 Practice

    1. Talk about the students activities in a week. Read through the phrases with the whole class and then ask them to talk about activities in a week.

    go to school

    go to the park

    play basketball

    read a book

    watch TV

    do my homework

    get up very late

    see my grandparents

    play games with friends

    e. g. I don’t go to school on Sunday. I go to the park on Sunday.

    2. Match the words in Column A with the words and expressions in Column B.

     d) a break

    3 go  e) an English lesson

     f) to bed

     g) home

    Check the answers with the whole class.

    Now talk about your school day.

    e. g. I go to school at half past seven in the morning.

    3. Complete the passage with the expressions from the box.

     

     

     

     

    On Friday I have a busy day. I (1) ________at half past six in the morning . Then I wash my hands and face , and (2) ____________at seven. At half past seven , I (3) __________, and (4) ___________at eight. There are four lessons in the morning. At twenty to ten, we (5) __________for twenty minutes. We go to the playground and I talk with my friends. We (6) ___________ in the school dining hall. In the afternoon, we have two lessons and go home at half past three. I don’t (7) __________on Friday evening. I do it on Saturday.

    Read through the passage with the whole class.

    Ask the students to complete the passage with the expressions from the box with a partner.

    Call back the answers from the whole class, and check the answers.

    4. Complete the sentences with at, in or on.

    1 We go to school ______ the morning.

    2 We don’t go to school ______ Sunday.

    3 We dont have a science lesson ______ Wednesday.

    4 I get up ______ seven oclock.

    5 We go home ______ the afternoon.

    6 We have dinner ______ half past six.

    Review the using of at, in and on.

    Ask the students to fill in the blanks individually, and then check with a partner.

    Call back the answers from the whole class, and check the answers.

    Read through the phrases with the whole class.

    Ask the students to complete the sentences with the words from the box with a partner.

    Step 4 Language points

    时间介词at , in , on的用法

    at常用在具体的时间点前。 

    She usually gets up at 5: 00 in the morning. 她通常早上5点起床。

    at还可以用在at night (在晚上)at weekends (在周末)at noon (在中午) 等固定短语中。

    on常用来表示在某天或星期几。另外,表示在某天的上、下午或晚上时,介词也用on

    on Sunday在星期天  

    on February 8th在二月八日

    on Monday morning在星期一上午

    on the afternoon of November 21st在十一月二十一日下午on a cold winter evening在一个寒冷冬天的夜晚

    in表示在某一段时间,如某年、某月、某个季节

    in 20202020

    in June

    in summer在夏天

    另外,在某一些固定短语中要用in

    in the morning/afternoon/evening在上午/下午/晚上

    Step 5 Around the world

    1. Ask the students to look at the picture and discuss what they can see.

    2. Read through the information with the whole class, and talk about something with the students.

    The school day in the UK

    In the UK, children have five lessons in the day and finish school at half past three in the afternoon. After school they go swimming, play football, have music lessons and play with their friends. They also do homework like you!

    Step 6 Module task

    1. Talk about your ideal school day. The following phrases are helpful.

    get up      have breakfast

    go to school     lessons start

    study Chinese / …  have lunch

    have … lesson      do sports

    finish school / leave school / go home

    have dinner / have supper

    do your homework    

    watch the news on TV go to bed

    2. Talk about your ideal school day.

    I go to school at half past seven in the morning.

    We start work at nine o’clock.

    At eleven o’clock, we have a break in the playground and I talk to my friends.

    Step 7 Homework

    Review the grammar we have learned today.
