Look at the notes about Christmas in Britain. Match the notes with the headings. (1) Ask the students what they think Christmas is. Talk about the differences between Christmas and Spring Festival. (2) Put the headings“getting ready”“presents”and“traditional things on Christmas Day”on the board. You could do a word map with“Christmas”in the first circle and the others in circles attached to it. (3) Read the list of preparations and traditions and tell the students to decide which heading they belong under on their own.
