    Unit 1  Friends Integrated skills & Study skills

    设计说明

    利用自由谈话引导学生各抒己见,用英语表达自己的真实想法。通过对不同人的性格、爱好、能力和愿望等的描述让学生体会他们分别适合从事什么职业。在完成听力训练的同时,学习本课时出现的一些新短语,降低学习难度。让学生快速地回记单词,学习利用词汇树记忆单词。通过PPT向学生演示绘制词汇树的方法和过程。接下来让学生完成书上的练习。最后让学生绘制一棵词汇树,使绘制知识树能成为学生的一项学习技能,而不仅仅局限在记忆单词上面。

    教学目标

    通过本单元的教学,让学生达成以下目标:

    1.知识目标

    掌握词汇:plan, social, social worker, ponytail, shy

    2.能力目标

    (1)能从听力材料中获取信息,并将语篇补充完整。

    (2)能用所学语句描述朋友的外貌和个性。

    (3)能利用词汇树来记忆词汇。

    3.情感目标

    树立职业规划意识,激励学生树立积极的人生观。

    重点难点

    重点:利用词汇树记忆单词

    难点:描述朋友外貌和个性,把性格和职业联系起来,做未来计划

    PPT课件;相关图片;A1A3部分的听力录音;B部分的课文录音

    教学过程

    Step 1  Lead-in

    Ask the students to have a free talk to say something about their future plans.

    I would like to be... in the future.

    I want to be... when I grow up.

    I hope to become... when I grow up.

    I am... I have ...

    I like... I can ...

    Step 2  Listening  

    1.Nora is talking to Amy about the future plans. Listen to their conversation. Help Nora put a tick () in the correct boxes in the table below.

    2. Ask the students to read the phrases in A1.

    3. Nora is writing about her future plans in her diary. Look at the table in A1. Help Nora complete her diary entry.

    Dear Diary,

    Today Amy and I talked about our future plans.

    I would like to be a social worker when I grow up.

    I am always kind to people. I have many friends at school. I like to (1)_____a lot of people and make (2)______ with them. I can (3)_____to people carefully and help them with their(4)______. I will be happy if I can make other people(5)______.

    Answers: (1) meet (2) friends (3) listen (4) problems (5) happy

    4. Ask the students to learn some phrases.

    Present these phrases, explain their meanings and read them aloud.

    5.Sandy is writing about her future plans in her diary too. Listen to her conversation with Daniel. Help Sandy complete her diary entry.

    6.Introduce Xu Beihong and explain some phrases.

    Present these phrases, explain their meanings and read them aloud.

    Step 3  Presentation

    1.Ask the students to listen to the conversation and answer the two questions.

    (1) What is Peter like ?

    (2) What about Lucy?

    Answers: (1)He is the tallest in the class. He is clever and humorous.

    (2)She is a small girl with a ponytail. She is shy and quiet.

    2.Ask the students to read and practice in pairs, talking about their friends.

    A: Who is the boy ...?

    B: Oh, this is ... I think he looks ... 

    A: Yes, I agree.

    B: He is... in my class.

    A: What’s he like?

    B: He’s... He’d like to be... when he grows up.

    A: Who is the girl...?

    B: She’s...

    Step 4  Study skills

    Ask the students to remember words about fruits as many as possible.

    1.Ask 4 students to write words about fruits on the blackboard.

    2.Give the students one minute to remember the words on the blackboard. Then let the students try to say the words as many as possible.

    3. Present the vocabulary tree to help students remember words.

    Introduce a good method to remember the words quickly. Lead the students to put the words into different groups.

    4. Teach the students how to draw a vocabulary tree.

    The steps are:

    (1) Draw a big tree as you like;

    (2) On its branches, write the group names;

    (3) Put the words on the branches;

    (4) Draw a picture for each word to make it more interesting.

    5. Ask students to practice in pairs.

    Feelings : happy, bored, sad, angry, surprised

    Pictures :

    (1) Draw a big tree as you like;

    (2) On its branches, write the group names;

    (3) Put the words on the branches;

    (4) Draw a picture for each word to make it more interesting.

             

    They can draw the trees in different ways.

    6. Ask the students to complete the vocabulary tree in their books.

      Ask the students to do it by themselves first and then check the answers together.

    Step 5  Homework

    1. Finish the related exercises in the workbook.

    2. Preview Task on page 16-17.
