    Lesson 13: Be Careful, Danny!

     

    设计说明

    首先,通过问答学生知道的事故,导入新课。通过让学生思考自己的经历,让学生逐渐意识到安全的重要性。接下来,呈现本课生词,借助图片及句子语境,让学生体会意思,激发学生的学习兴趣。再通过把单词与英文释义搭配,让学生巩固单词记忆。学习新课,通过听对话判断正误和听对话回答问题,让学生有针对性地听取关键信息。接下来进行精读,包括回答问题,完成故事概述等。完成Let’s Do It! No. 3有关重点单词的练习。再通过角色表演这个故事,让学生读出不同人物的特点,在读中培养语感,进而让英语课堂更加有趣。讲解课文中的重难点,巩固所学英语知识。最后,通过当堂达标检测,检验学生对本节课的掌握情况。

    教学目标

    通过本课节的教学,学生达成以下目标:

    1. 知识目标

    掌握单词:safety, careful, hang, lie, serious, necessary      

    接触单词:decorate, ceiling, ambulance

    短语:jump up

    句型:Im going to hang it from the ceiling over the desk.

    He sees Danny lying on the floor.

    I tried to catch you, but you landed on top of me.

    (1) 能够听懂有关事故的描述;

    (2) 能够读懂有关安全话题的对话,并能从中获取有效信息。

    注意安全,学会保护自己。

    教学过程

    Step 1  Lead-in

    Ask the students to list some serious accidents that they know. Present some pictures if necessary.

               fire                electricity

     

    traffic accident            drowning

    Step 2  Thinking about it

     Have you ever climbed onto a chair or a desk to reach something?

     Was it safe?

     What should you do if you see someone fall?

    Let some students share their experiences in front of the class.

    Step 3  Presentation 

    1. Show some pictures to teach the new words safety, ambulance, careful, decorate, hang, ceiling, lie, serious, and necessary.

    My leg is broken.

    For your safety, we should call an ambulance.

           n. 安全;平安        n. 救护车

    safe adj. 安全的;平安的

     

                  v. 装饰

    Spring Festival is coming. They are decorating the house. Look! They are hanging some lanterns from the ceiling.

    v. (hung/hung)悬挂;垂下     n. 天花板

      

     

    Its not serious. And its not necessary to take medicine.

    adj. 严重的;严肃的      adj. 必需的

    Step 4  Listening

    1. Let the students listen to the recording and write true (T) or false (F).

    2. Play the recording and ask the students to answer the following questions.

    (1) What are Danny, Jenny and Brian doing?

    (2) Does Mr. Jones come here?

    Answers: (1) They are decorating the art classroom.   (2) Yes, he does.

    Step 5  Reading

    1. Get the class to look through the following questions. Then ask the class to read the passage in order to find the answers.

    (1) What did Danny climb onto?

    (2) Did Brian need an ambulance?

    (3) Who is Jenny going to call?

    2. Ask them to work out the answers in groups.

    3. Elicit answers by asking individual students to read the sentences out.

    Answers: (1) Mr. Jones chair.

    (2) No, he didnt.

    (3) Brians mother.

    4. Let the students work in pairs and work out the facts about the accident.

    (1) Why did Danny climb onto the chair?

    (2) Was Danny careful?

    (3) Why didnt Danny use a ladder?

    (4) Did Danny hurt himself?

    (5) Why did Danny land on top of Brian?

    (6) Was Brian hurt?

    Answers: (1) Because he couldnt reach the ceiling.

    (2) No, he wasnt.

    (3) Because he thought he was tall enough.

    (4) Yes, he did. His tail hurt a little, but it was not serious.

    (5) Because Brian tried to catch him, but Danny landed on top of him.

    (6) Yes. His arm hurt.

    5. Let them read again and fill in the blanks.

    Beginning

    Fill in the blanks with the correct forms of the words in the box.

    Step 7  Role-play

    Let the students work in groups of five. One of them can be the narrator. The others can be Danny, Brian, Mr. Jones and Jenny. Ask some groups to role play in front of the class.

    Step 8  Language points

    1. Be Careful, Danny! 丹尼,小心!

    careful形容词,意为“小心的,仔细的”,可作定语或表语。常用短语be careful“小心”。

    Li Hong is a careful girl. 李红是个认真的女孩。

    Please be careful when you cross the street. 当你过街道时请当心。

    【拓展】 (1) carefully副词,意为“小心;仔细”,作状语。

    She does everything carefully. 她做任何事情都很认真。

    (2) careless形容词,意为“粗心的,不小心的”,可作定语或表语。

    His father is a careless worker. 他的爸爸是一名粗心大意的工人。

    2. Im going to hang it from the ceiling over the desk. 我要把它挂到课桌上方的天花板上。

    hang 动词,意为“悬挂”。过去式为hung,过去分词为hung

    Hang your coat up on the hook. 把你的大衣挂在衣钩上。

    Look, Lindas bag is hanging there. 看,琳达的包正挂在那儿呢。

    【拓展】(1) hang动词,意为“绞死;吊死”。过去式、过去分词为hanged

    A hare was hanged by the hunter last night. 昨天晚上一只野兔被猎人吊死了。

    (2) hang out闲逛

    These kids often hang out at the mall. 这些孩子常在这家商场闲逛。

    3. I think Im tall enough. 我认为我足够高。

    enough形容词,意为“足够的,充足的”,修饰名词时,常放在名词前面,但time enough(足够的时间) 仍然常用。

    There are enough desks for the students. 学生们有足够的桌子。

    【拓展】 enough副词,意为“足够地”,修饰形容词或副词时,放在形容词或副词之后。

    (1) 辨析:see sb./sth. doing sth.see sb./sth. do sth.

    (2) lie动词,意为“平躺;躺”。过去式为lay,过去分词为lain,现在分词为lying

    He is lying under the tree. 他正躺在树下。

    My father was tired, so he lay down for a rest.

    我爸爸累了,所以他躺下来休息一下。

    【拓展】 (1) lie不及物动词,意为“说谎”。过去式为lied,过去分词为lied,现在分词为lying

    He wasnt telling the truth. He lied again. 他没说实话,他又撒谎了。

    (2) lie名词,意为“谎言”。常用短语为tell a lie/lies“说谎”。

    It is wrong to tell a lie. 撒谎是错误的。

    5. My tail hurts a little, but its not serious. 我的尾巴有点儿痛,但不严重。

    serious形容词,意为“严重的,严肃的”。常用短语be serious about“对……是认真的”。

    The boy has a serious illness. 这个男孩患有严重的疾病。

    My grandfather is not a very serious person. 我爷爷不是一个非常严肃的人。

    You are serious about this, aren't you? 你对这事是认真的,是吧?

    6. I dont think my arm is broken. 我认为我的胳膊没折。

    否定前移 否定前移是把某些动词后的宾语从句的否定词前移到主句上,即主句的谓语动词用否定式,而从句的谓语动词用肯定式。否定前移要满足以下几个条件:

    (1) 主句谓语动词think, believe, suppose, imagine等后跟有否定意义的宾语从句;

    (2) 主句主语为第一人称Iwe

    (3) 时态为一般现在时。

    I dont think you are at the museum. 我以为你不在博物馆。

    7. The school is concerned about the safety of the children.学校关心孩子们的安全。

    (1)be concerned about关心

    be worried aboutworry about表达的意思相近。

    People are concerned about the boys future.人们关心这个男孩的将来。

    (2) safety名词,意为“安全”。其反义词为danger “危险”。

    Children! Safety is the most important thing.孩子们,安全第一。

    【拓展】 safe形容词,意为“安全的;平安的”。其反义词为dangerous“危险的”。

    Its not safe to swim in the river. 在河里游泳不安全。
