    Unit 1  Dont cross that rope!

    设计说明

    教师通过询问学生在家里父母对自己有什么要求或规定,很自然地导入新课;通过听说训练,帮助学生逐步理解和掌握if条件状语从句和表示“禁止做某事”的结构的用法;通过设置不同的阅读任务,培养学生在阅读中抓细节信息的能力;通过讲练结合,帮助学生掌握新的语言点或复习巩固已学知识;通过表演对话及谈论班规,提升学生的语言运用能力。

    教学目标

    通过本单元的教学,让学生达成以下目标:

    1. 知识目标

    学习本单元新单词及短语:upstairs, exhibition, rule, against the rules, in trouble, tail, rope, entry, no good, no wonder, missing, downstairs, punish

    2. 能力目标

    谈论规则

    3. 情感目标

    通过听说训练,培养遵守公共秩序和公共规则的习惯

    Step 1 Lead-in

    Ask and answer.

    T: Boys and girls, we have many rules at school. Do you have any rules in your home?

    Ss: Yes, we do.

    T: What are they?

    What rules do you have to follow when you are in a public place?

    Do you think they are necessary?

    Step 2  Warming up

    1. Match the signs with the rules.

    (1) Ask the students to match the signs with the rules on their own and then check answers in pairs.

    1  Don’t touch.   2  No smoking.

    3  No shouting.   4  No photos.

    (2) Ask the students to ask and answer questions about the signs in pairs. For example:

    What do you think this sign means?

    I think it means No touching.

    2. Listen and answer the questions.

    (1) Ask the students to listen to the recording and then write down the answers.

    1 Where did Lingling find the guide?

    2 How many people are going to the museum on Saturday?

    (2) Encourage some of them to answer the questions.

    Answers:

    1 She got it from the Internet.

    2 Three (Betty, Lingling and Daming).

    Betty: I am very excited about our visit to the museum on Saturday.

    Lingling: I’m looking forward to it too. If you want to know what to see, look at the guide. I got it from the Internet. They’ve got an interesting Animal Room, with lots of exhibitions.

    Betty: Great! I especially want to see that.

    Lingling: So do I. Our homework is to write about our favourite museum, and this one will be great for our report.

    Betty: Exactly!

    Lingling: Have you invited anyone else to come with us on Saturday?

    Betty: Yes, I have. Daming is coming.

    Step 3  Fast reading

    1. Ask the students to listen to the recording.

    2. Tell them to read the conversation.

    3. Ask them to check (√) the rules mentioned in the conversation.

    Step 4  Careful reading

    1. Ask the students to write down what they cannot do in the museum.

    Answers:

    No shouting. No photos. No entry.

    2. Ask the students to write down the answers to the questions in their notebooks and then check answers in groups.

    1 What are Betty, Lingling and Daming doing?

    2 Who is in trouble?

    3 What’s the matter with Lingling?

    4 What does the guard advise them to do?

    3. Encourage some students to answer the questions. Correct their errors.

    Answers:

    1 They are visiting a museum.

    2 Daming.

    3 She can’t find her mobile phone.

    4 The guard advises them to go downstairs to the lost and found office.

    4. Let the students find out the phrases in the conversation and translate them into Chinese.

    5. Ask the students to write down the phrases in their notebooks if necessary.

    6. Read the conversation.

    (1) Ask the students to follow the recording to read the conversation.

    (2) Tell them to read the conversation on their own.

    (3) Encourage some students to read the conversation in different roles.

    Step 5  Post-reading

    Ask the students to complete the passage with the words in the box.

    Step 6  Language points

    1. What a wonderful museum! 多么奇妙的一家博物馆啊!

    what引导感叹句时,后面接名词性短语。具体句型结构如下:

    (1) What a / an +形容词+单数名词(+主语+谓语)!

    What a tall building it is! 它是这么多高的建筑啊!

    (2) What +形容词+不可数名词(+主语+谓语)!

    What exciting news! 多么令人兴奋的消息啊!

    (3) What+形容词+复数名词(+主语+谓语)!

    What smart workers they are! 他们是多么聪明的工人啊!

    how引导的感叹句结构为:How +形容词/副词(+主语+谓语)!

    How hard they are training! 他们正训练得多刻苦啊!

    [注意]

    两种结构的感叹句有时是可以相互转换的。

    What a kind girl Lingling is!

    = How kind Lingling is!

    玲玲多么热心啊!

    [技巧]

    判断感叹句的引导词是what还是how时,首先要找到句子的主语,然后看它前面的部分,如果是名词性短语则用what引导,如果是形容词或副词,则用how引导。

    2. Me too. 我也是。

    Me too. 意为“我也是”,常用于口语中,表示对方所述的某一肯定的情况也适用于自己。相当于“So+连系动词be/助动词/情态动词+ I. ”

    I like natural wonders. 我喜欢自然奇观。

    Me too. 我也是。

    [拓展]

    Me neither. 意为“我也不”。

    I don’t like rock music. 我不喜欢摇滚乐。

    Me neither. 我也不喜欢。

    3. Daming is in trouble again. 大明又遇上麻烦了。

    in trouble意为“遇上麻烦;处于困境”,trouble作不可数名词,前面还可用great, deep等形容词修饰。

    Tony is in deep trouble. Let’s help him out. 托尼深陷困境,我们来帮帮他。

    My friends are always around me when I am in trouble.

    当我遇到麻烦时,我的朋友总是陪伴着我。

    [拓展]

    (1) have trouble with………(方面)遇到麻烦

    Jenny has great trouble with Chinese. 珍妮在汉语学习上遇到很大的麻烦。

    (2) have trouble (in) doing sth. 做某事有困难

    The girl was so shy that she had trouble communicating with others.

    这个女孩很害羞,她与其他人交流有困难。

    4. No wonder the place is empty! 难怪这个地方没有什么人呢!

    no wonder意为“难怪;不足为奇”,是“It’s on wonder + that从句 的缩略形式。it位于句子开头作形式主语,真正的主语是后面的从句that常省略。

    No wonder you are tiredyou have been working for hours.

    难怪你累了,你已经工作好几个小时了。

    Your father worked in the US for a few years. It’s no wonder that he speaks English so well. 你父亲在美国工作过几年,难怪他讲英语这么好。

    Step 7  Pronunciation and speaking

    1. Listen and underline the words the speaker stresses.

    1 No shouting, please! It’s against the rules.

    2 Because it’s closed.

    3 There certainly are a lot of rules in this museum.

    Answers:

    2 Because it’s closed.

    Now listen again and repeat.

    2. Work in pairs. Discuss the rules in your classroom.

    Must we keep quiet in the classroom?

    Yes. No shouting in the classroom.

    1. Read the conversation.

    2. Talk with your partner about rules at school and at your own homes.
