    Lesson 35: Future Transportation

    设计说明

    设置Free talkThink about it环节,导入新课。利用图片和句子,教授新单词和短语,为课文学习扫清障碍。学生先快速阅读课文,完成Let’s Do It!2的相关练习;然后细读课文,回答5个问题,通过此环节的训练,学生不但能熟悉课文内容,而且能抓住课文关键信息。让学生找出课文中的重要短语,接着做Let’s Do It!13的相关练习。设置小组合作活动,学生完成活动4的表格,然后再完成本课的实践活动。讲解本课节的语言点,帮助学生解决课文中的疑惑和重难点。最后,通过当堂达标训练,检查学生对本课节的掌握情况。

    教学目标

    通过本课节的教学,学生达成以下目标:

    1.知识目标

    掌握单词:smooth,allow, form

    接触单词:hoverboard, float, transporter

    短语:travel at the speed of light, all the time

    2.能力目标

    (1)能够用英语谈论交通方式;

    (2)能够用英语谈论自己知道的一些发明。

    3.情感目标

    通过本节课的学习,激发学生的学习兴趣,培养他们的想像力和创造力。

    Step 1  Lead-in

    1. Free talk

    Show pictures to the students. Then ask and answer the questions.

    T: What is this?

    Ss: It’s a skateboard.

     

    T:Would you like to have one?

    Ss:

    T:Do you think skateboards are dangerous?

    Ss:

    2. Think about it

    Ask the students to think about the two questions.

      Have you ever used a skateboard?

    What type of transportation do you think is amazing?

    Step 2  Vocabulary

    1. Teach the new words and expressions of this lesson.

    This is a type of hoverboard. It is made in America. It can float in the space smoothly.

    hoverboard n. 飞翔器

    float v. 漂浮

    smooth adj. 平稳的;平坦的;光滑的

    smoothly adv.平稳地

    A transporter would allow you to travel at the speed of light.

    transporter n. 运输车;输送器 

    allow v. 允许     

    travel at the speed of light 以光速行驶

    People use new forms of transportation all the time.

    2.Ask the students to read the new words and expressions in groups.

    2. Check the answers in groups.

    2.Instruct the students to copy the table in the example into their notebooks and fill it in by answering the questions at the top of each column. Each person in the group should complete their own table.

    3.Hands-on Activity

    (1)Divide the class into groups to design a new kind of transportation. Students can build a model or draw a poster of it.

    (2)In their groups, students should discuss the following questions.

      Why did you choose that design?

    How does it work?

    Why is it a good kind of transportation?

    What similarities does it have to other types of transportation that exist today?

    (3)Ask the students to present their answers to those questions and their new kind of transportation in front of the class.

    Step 6  Language points

    1. It would go really fast, and the ride would be very smooth. 它跑得很快,并且乘坐起来很平稳。
