Step 1  Warming up

Step 2  Vocabulary

1. Teach the new words of this lesson.

1. Nobody else in my school comes from Greece！在我的学校里没有其他的人来自希腊！

nobody else 意为“没有其他人”，相当于no other people。else常用在不定代词、疑问词之后，else表示“另外；其他”。

Nobody else knows the secret.没有别人知道这个秘密。

2. I’ve been in Canada for seven and a half years.我在加拿大已有7年半了。

(1) have been in为现在完成时结构，强调某人已经在某地，并且目前还在那里。常与表示一段时间的状语连用。

Mr. Green has been in Shanghai for four months.

格林先生已经在上海待了四个月了。

【拓展】

That man can’t be Mr.Green. He has gone to the park.

那个人不可能是格林先生。他去公园了。

I have been to the Summer Palace. 我去过颐和园。

(2) seven and a half years 意为“七年半”，相当于seven years and a half。

表示几个半的方法是：

①基数词+and+a half+名词复数

②基数词+名词复数+and+a half (当基数词为one时，名词用单数 )

一年半：one and a half years/one year and a half

两个半小时：two and a half hours/ two hours and a half

3. But she sometimes returns to Greece to play for the Greek National Basketball Team.但有时她返回希腊为希腊国家篮球队打球。

return此处用作不及物动词，意为“回；返回” 。

“return to+地点”意为“返回某地”。

She has returned to Beijing from Jinan.她已经从济南回到北京。

【拓展】 return还可用作及物动词，意为“归还；送回”，相当于give…back。

return sb. sth.=return sth. to sb. 意为“把某物归还某人”。

She returned the bird to its cage.她把鸟放回笼子里。

4. My parents want me to study medicine, but I want to continue taking P.E.我父母想让我学医，但我想继续学习体育。

continue动词，意为“继续；延续”，后可跟doing sth.也可跟to do sth.

After a rest, he continued his reading.休息一会儿后，他继续读书。

After he finished reading a novel, he continued to play games with his friends.

他读完小说后跟朋友们继续玩游戏。
