设计说明 本单元是复习单元,集中总结和练习过去进行时的基本用法,复习巩固本模块的重点单词、短语和句型。本课从指导学生朗读Language practice中的句子入手,引入语法的集中讲解,紧跟单元所设习题进行针对性训练。本单元还设置了词汇、阅读和听力的训练。另外,在本课的末尾还安排了基于自己的经历创作故事的实践性环节。所有这些环节的设置,旨在提升学生的语言运用能力。 教学目标 通过本单元的教学,让学生达成以下目标: 1. 知识目标 (1)复习巩固本模块所学生词、短语和句型; (2)练习巩固过去进行时的基本用法。 2. 能力目标 (1)掌握过去进行时的基本用法; (2)根据经历编写故事。 3. 情感目标 培养丰富的想象力,善于从平凡的生活中捕捉美丽的瞬间。 重点难点 重点:本模块的重点词汇、句型;过去进行时的基本用法。 难点:过去进行时在具体语境中的运用。 教学准备 PPT课件;活动7、8的录音 授课时数 1课时 教学过程 Step 1 Language practice 1. Present the key sentences to the class. Read them with the whole class.
Step 2 Grammar summary Sum up the grammar together with the whole class. 过去进行时 一、回顾复习:什么是现在进行时 现在进行时表示当前正在发生或进行的动作。谓语动词的构成为“am/is/ are+动词的现在分词”。 They are having a birthday party for their daughter. 他们正为女儿举办一个生日聚会。 Look! It’s raining so heavily. 看!雨下得多大。 二、新学新知:过去进行时 1. 含义:过去进行时表示过去某个时间或某一段时间正在进行的动作。 2. 构成:过去进行时谓语动词的构成为“was/were +动词的现在分词”。 I was having breakfast at 7:00 yesterday morning. 昨天早上7点我在吃早饭。 Alice was sitting by the river at that time. 那时爱丽丝正坐在河边。 They were having a tea party in the garden. 他们正在花园里举行茶会。 3. 句式变化 (1) 否定句:在was或were之后加not。was not = wasn’t; were not = weren’t。 They were not sleeping then. 他们那时没有在睡觉。 Linda wasn’t playing the piano from 8 to 9 last night. 昨天晚上8点到9点琳达没有在弹钢琴。 (2)一般疑问句:将was或were提到主语之前。回答时用was或were。 — Were you waiting for your friends then? 你那时在等你的朋友吗? — Yes, I was. / No, I wasn’t. 是的,我在等。/不,我没有在等。 (3) 特殊疑问句:通常由疑问词加一般疑问句构成,提问主语时例外。 What were you doing at 5 pm yesterday? 昨天下午5点钟你在做什么? Who were they playing with then? 那时他们在和谁一起玩? 三、辨别明确:一般过去时与过去进行时的区别 1. 一般过去时表示过去某个时间发生的动作或存在的状态;过去进行时表示过去某一时刻或某段时间正在进行的动作。 I read an interesting story last night. 昨天晚上我读了一个有趣的故事。 I was reading an interesting story at 8 last night. 昨天晚上8点我正在读一个有趣的故事。 2. 一般过去时的时间状语通常比较笼统,不具体,如yesterday, just now, last year, three days ago等;过去进行时的时间状语通常比较具体,如at that time, at 11 yesterday, between 8 and 10 last Saturday等。 They played basketball yesterday afternoon. 昨天下午他们打篮球了。 They were playing basketball at 5 pm yesterday afternoon. 昨天下午5点他们正在打篮球。 Step 3 Practice 1. Finish Activity 1. Underline the correct words. 1 Suddenly, all the lights in my house were going off/ went off. There was heavy rain outside. 2 — I called you up at seven o’clock last night, but nobody answered. — Really? I’m sorry, but I was teaching/taught a piano lesson at school. 3 — I was seeing/ saw you and Tom in the library just now. — Oh, we showed/ were showing several visitors around the school. (1) Ask the students to read the sentences and find out whether the action was finished or not in each sentence. (2) Tell them to underline the correct words. (3) Check the answers in pairs. Answers: 1 went off 2 was teaching 3 saw; were showing 2. Finish Activity 2. Write sentences about what you were doing. 1 At about seven o’clock last night, ____________________________. 2 This morning, on my way to school, __________________________. 3 This time last year, ________________________________________. 4 Last Saturday, from about 1 pm to 4 pm, _______________________. (1) Read through the first parts of the sentences with the students. (2) Ask the students to complete the sentences on their own. (3) Ask the students to check answers in pairs. (4) Encourage some students to read the sentences. Correct the grammar errors. (5) Ask more students for different answers. Possible answers: 1 I was doing my homework 2 I met my friend Daming 3 I was staying in Hangzhou 4 I was practising the piano 3. Finish Activity 3. Work in groups of four. Play a chain game. A: At eight o’clock last night I was watching TV. How about you, B? B: At eight o’clock last night I was sleeping. How about you, C? C: At eight o’clock last night I was having dinner. How about you, D? D: … (1) Read the conversation with the whole class. (2) Put the students in groups of four to play the game. Ask them to make notes about everyone’s action. (3) Encourage some groups to play the game. 4. Finish Activity 4. Write down what each member of your group was doing at eight o’clock last night. (1) Ask the students to write down what their partners was doing at eight last night. Tell them to use the notes made in Activity 3 to help them. (2) Check the answers in pairs. Possible answers: 1 Wang Ping was playing the piano at eight o’clock last night. 2 Liu Li was watching TV at eight o’clock last night. 3 Li Fei was doing her homework at eight o’clock last night. 4 I was playing with a toy at eight o’clock last night. Step 4 Vocabulary 1. Finish Activity 5. Complete the sentences with the correct form of the expressions in the box.

(1) Ask the students to read through the expressions in the box and make sure they know the meaning of them. (2) Ask the students to read the sentences and think about what’s missing. (3) Tell them to complete the sentences on their own and then check the answers in pairs. Answers: 1 running after 2 What, for 3 had nothing to do 4 thinking about 5 once or twice 2. Finish Activity 6. Complete the passage with the words in the box.

Play the recording for the students to listen. 3. Put the students into groups of four and ask them each to choose one of the four characters to read and act. 4. Choose some groups to act the play out. Make the other groups of students real audiences. Step 7 Around the world T: When I was a child, I liked listening to stories very much. Do you like stories? Ss: Yes, I do. T: Do you still remember the names of the stories you have read or listened to? S1: … S2: … … T: Let’s read the passage and learn how stories passed in the past.
