探究点二：Language points

1. At first I was nervous, but finally I decided to introduce myself.

at first 起初，开始时

introduce作及物动词，意为“介绍”，后加名词或代词作宾语。

e.g.

They want to                      a new brand.

他们想介绍一个新品牌。

【拓展】

表示“给……介绍……”用句式introduce …to…。

e.g.

Can you introduce the new product                 us?

你能把新发明给我们介绍一下吗？

2. He said that he dreamed of visiting space when he was young.

he dreamed of visiting space when he was young 用在动词said之后，是宾语从句；宾语从句中的when he was young 又是时间状语从句。

e.g.

She said she would help me                                       .

她说她有空的时候会帮助我。

dream of doing sth. 表示“梦想做某事”，这里用动名词作介词宾语。

e.g.

Her sister dreams of                           a singer.

她姐姐梦想成为一名歌手。

3. To get ready, he studied hard in school.

to get ready 为做好准备

动词不定式短语作目的状语。

e.g.

                      maps properly, you need a special pen.

要正确地绘制地图，你需要一支特殊的笔。

4. I asked him for advice on how to become an astronaut.

ask sb. advice意为“向某人请教”；

后面的介词短语on how to become an astronaut 用在名词advice 后作定语，对advice 起修饰作用。

另句式give sb. advice 表示“给某人提出建议”。

e.g.

My teacher                     me some advice on my study.

老师在我的学习方面为我提出了一些建议。
