一、导入
Look at the picture in 2d and have a prediction about what the conversation will be about?
二、目标
- Learn some new words and expressions, such as Russian, pot, finally, add etc.
- Students can read the conversation and role-play;
- Students will improve listening and speaking abilities.
三、先学
- Students listen to the conversation and check their predictions.
2. Students listen again and answer the following questions:
(1) What does Anna want to make?
Russian soup.
(2) What does Anna need?
She needs some beef, one cabbage, four carrots, three
potatoes, five tomatoes, one onion, and some salt.
3.Students read the conversation and try to translate, underline the words or phrases they don’t understand.

- Translate the conversation and lead the students to read it for several times;
- Explain the important and difficult points to the class.
- Language point
(1) Next, put the beef, carrots and potatoes into a pot and add some water.
add /æd/ v. 增加;添加
add 常见用法:
① add to 使(数量)增加;使(规模)扩大
② add… to…把…… 添加到……
③ add up to 总共是; 总计为
(2) Then, add the cabbage, tomatoes and onion and cook for another 10 minutes.
another 10 minutes 再10 分钟;另10 分钟
“another+ 基数词+ 名词”表示“再……;另……”,相当于“基数词+more+ 名词”。
e.g. We need another ten men to finish the task.
= We need ten more men to finish the task.
我们还需要10 个人来完成这项任务。
(3) Finally, don’t forget to add some salt.
finally /'faɪnəli/ adv. 最后;最终
e.g. He finally passed the test. 他最终通过了考试。
finally 相当于in the end 或at last,表示顺序。可位于句首或句中, 位于句中时位于be动词、助动词或情态动词之后,行为动词之前。
e.g. And finally, I would like to thank you all for coming here today. 最后,我想感谢你们所有人今天的光临。
He studied hard, and passed the exam at last.
他努力学习,最后通过了考试。
The customer was happy in the end.
最后那位顾客高兴了。
