教材分析

本板块旨在巩固Reading and Thinking语篇中的重点词汇，帮助学生进一步拓展本单元语篇词汇，让学生在语境中体会词义，丰富主题知识。本板块通过三个活动，以思维导图、语境填空、近义词辨析等不同形式让学生将本单元所学的重点词汇进行归纳和记忆。着重培养学生对词汇理解和应用的能力，以及使用词块表达意义的能力。学生在积累主题词汇的同时能进一步拓展航海知识，培养学生在逆境中战胜困难的勇气。

教学目标 

在本课学习结束时，学生能够：

1. 归纳记忆本单元重点动词和介词搭配的词组；

2. 使用恰当的词块将句子及语篇补充完整；

3. 在语境中正确使用话题词汇，总结阅读文章的大意。

教学重难点

在正确的语境中合理运用词汇。

教学过程

Step 1 Recalling

Brainstorm the reasons why the author kept a diary. The following questions may help you.

         How did Blackborow feel on the deserted island? Would writing a diary help him deal with his feelings?

         What could he do to kill time on the island? How do people keep track of date on a deserted island?

         What are some common reasons why people write a diary? Do you think he could still remember everything so clearly if he had not written a diary?

         If they had not been rescued in time, would people know about their stories?

         What kind of people would keep a diary? Would you have kept a diary if you were in the same situation?

设计意图：让学生开展“头脑风暴”活动，思考作者记日记的原因，对上节课的内容进行回顾，为本课学习热身和铺垫。

Step 2 Language points

Learn to analyze and remember the new words and phrases in the reading part.

设计意图：引导学生关注，理解并记忆本单元阅读部分的重点单词的拼写及用法。

Step 3 Practice

1. Find the suitable adjectives from the previous text to complete the sentences. The first letter of each word has been given.

设计意图：让学生根据语境及单词首字母填出对应的形容词，让学生在语境中体会词义，熟悉词形。

2. Choose the appropriate word to complete each sentence.

设计意图：选择学生容易混淆的几对近义词，让学生结合语境辨析和理解这些单词不同的语用功能，在对比中排除翻译思维对理解的干扰。

3. Complete the passage with the correct forms of the words in the box.

设计意图：通过对前面阅读部分的小结，复现话题词汇，总结内容大意，考察学生的语言运用能力，巩固词汇理解。

Step 4 Assignment

1. Finish Workbook exercises on Page 82.

2. Summarise the main idea of the passage of Reading and Thinking with the words we have learned in the class.

设计意图：完成课本基础练习，巩固所学知识；通过让学生用所学单词描述本单元话题，促进学生掌握单词的用法。
