(1)like作动词,意为“喜欢,喜爱”,后可跟名词,代词,不定式或动名词作宾语,结构如下:
like sb./sth.:喜欢某物
like to do sth.=like doing sth.:喜欢做某事
like to do sth.和 like doing sth.一般情况下可以互换。但也有一定区别,其区别在于含义不同、用法不同、侧重点不同。like to do sth.表示偶尔一次喜欢做某事,或突然喜欢做某事,有一定的趋向性;like doing sth.表示长时间喜欢做某事,指兴趣爱好,时间观念不强。
例如:Most of children like junk food, but they don’t like vegetables.
The musician likes playing the guitar.
My friend likes cooking very much.
Tom likes to read the book about Chinese history these days.
The girl likes to listen music.
【拓展】like亦可作介词,意为“像”,常用结构“like+n./pron./动名词”。
例如:Like other students, Shelly goes to school every weekday.

(2)动词短语play games with sb.,意为“和某人一起玩游戏”。其中with作介词,可意为“与……(在)一起,带着;(表带有或拥有)有……的,持有,随身带着”。
例如:I want to play games with my brothers.
Come with me.
I have no money with me.
We go to the park with happiness.
2. We need you to help with sports for English-speaking students. 我们需要你在运动方面给讲英语的学生提供帮助。(P. 5)
(1)need意为“需要,必要”。可作实义动词,常用结构:“need sb./sth.:需要某人/某物;need (sb.) to do sth.:需要(某人)做某事。”亦可作情态动词,后跟动词原形,多用于否定句和疑问句中。
例如:I think you need your teacher’s help.
The baby is crying. He needs his mom.
Zhang wei can’t speak English well. He needs you to help him to study English.
Need I give you a call tonight?
You needn’t do your homework right now.
(2)动词短语help (sb.) with sth.意为“在某方面帮助(某人)”。
例句:He often helps me with my math.
The boy is good at English. And he likes to help others with spoken English.
3. Are you good with old people? 你善于应付老人吗? (P. 5)
短语be good with sb./sth.意为“善于应付……的;对……有办法”。注意be good后面还可以跟其他介词at、for和to,含义不同,注意区分:
be good for sb./sth.:对某人/某物有好处
be good at (doing) sth.:擅长(做)某事
be good to sb.:对某人友好
例句:She is good with the children.
Eating vegetables is good for our health.
The boy is good at playing the violin.

4. Can you play the piano or the violin? 你会弹钢琴还是拉小提琴? (P. 5)
play作动词,后跟乐器,意为“弹奏”。注意跟西洋乐器“piano钢琴,drum鼓,violin小提琴”时,要在乐器前加定冠词“the”。

(1)also作副词,意为“也,而且”。注意also在句子中位置:放在be动词和情态动词后面,实义动词前面。
【拓展】too作副词,意为“也,还,而且”。注意和also的区别,too用于肯定句句末,一般会用逗号和句子隔开。
例句:He likes playing chess. His brother also like playing chess.
He likes playing chess. His brother like playing chess, too.
The boy is a student and the girl is also a student.

(2)play soccer意为“踢足球”。注意play后跟球类,意为“踢(球),击打(球)”,球类运动前不加冠词。

(1)短语tell you stories意为“给你讲故事”。tell作及物动词,意为“讲述,告诉”,后可直接跟名词、代词作宾语,常用结构“tell sb.告诉某人;tell sth.讲述某事”;也可跟双宾语,常用结构“tell sb. sth.=tell sth. to sb.告诉某人某事”;亦可跟宾语+宾补,常用结构“tell sb. (not) to do sth.告诉某人(不要)做某事”。
