    1.(2022秋·山东青岛·高二山东省莱西市第一中学统考期中)阅读下面短文,根据所给情节进行续写,使之构成一个完整的故事。
My anger almost exploded when I was met the knowing looks that everyone gave me. Annoyance and embarrassment filled my heart. Why could Anne let out my secret? How could she do that to me? She lost all my trust and friendship.
Five years ago, Anne was new to our class. She was polite and shy, wearing a warm smile that attracted me towards her. She was the most friendly person I had ever met. We started as classmates but after a few months we were like best friends. We did homework together and hung out on weekends. We shared a lot of secrets and gave each other a lot of good advice. That was a sweet time.
However, I couldn’t expect such a big betrayal(背叛) from her. I didn’t know what made me tell Anne about my personal life. My dad lost his job, so I had to drop out of my favorite Ballet. A new pair of Ballet shoes was one of the things that we could not afford! Giving up the class made me sad, but I hoped it was just the secret between me and my best friend.
The next day when I walked by the next classroom, I felt several girls staring at me and talking in a low voice. My face turned red at their whisper like “Ballet” and “shoes”. Embarrassed and hurt, I ran away in tears.
I felt much regret to myself and avoiding Anne in and out of school. Soon afterwards, I was glad that our family moved to another town where Dad got a new job and no one would laugh at me. Anne called me many times but I didn’t answer. My heart was broken because the person whom I trusted most cheated me.
I started a new life, leaving all the bad memories behind since growing up naturally involved many stories, both bitter and sweet ones. Five years later, with the life going on, I made new friends and seldom thought about the past.

Then, I met Linda in the market my former classmate, who told me shocking news.
    _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
    Paragraph 2:
    I immediately called Anne.
    _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
【答案】Then, I met Linda in the market my former classmate, who told me shocking news. Linda said that after I left school the gossip soon disappeared. Everyone in our class missed me. Because I left without saying goodbye, Anne was sad for a long time. And to my amazement, she told me that Anne was not the one who brought my secret to light. It was Mary who had a big mouth and always wanted to put her nose in other people’s matters. She happened to overhear my conversation with Anne. I was all at sea, feeling that the floor had slipped away beneath my feet. Anxious and regretful, I asked Linda for any contact with Anne.
I immediately called Anne. After getting through, I sincerely apologized to her. She said softly: “Never mind. We are good friends.” I was in tears, guilt and joy. At that moment, I wished it had not happened. I wished time could go back and I could overcome my mistake. From that I got a lesson in life that we should learn to trust our loved ones, because a little mistake can lead us to ruin what we should value. Trust is the foundational principle that holds friendship. Trust is also the easiest thing in the world to lose. We need to be open and trust our friends.

    An Honest Mistake
Mary double-checked the words on her spelling test. If she got 100 percent today, she’d win her class’s First-Quarter Spelling Challenge and a brand-new dictionary that came with videos and other cool things.
Three more words to go. N-i-c-e-l-y. Q-u-i-c-k-l-y. H-o-n-e-s-t-y. Wait! She’d spelled honesty, not honestly! She erased the t-y and wrote l-y before handing in her paper.
After a break, Ms. Green announced the result, “Congratulations, Mary! You did it!” The whole class erupted! Ms. Green presented Mary with her prize. Mary smiled as she read the label on the box: To Mary Carter, for her perfect first-quarter score in spelling.
“Mom, everything’s PERFECT!” Mary shouted, showing her spelling test and prize when she got home.
Mom hugged her. “Put the test on the fridge so Dad and Kevin can see it when they get home.”
“And our cat, Kitty, too. Can you spell nicely, Kitty? And quickly and honesly, and...” Mary’s stomach tumbled (暴跌) to the floor. Honesly? H-O-N-E-S-L-Y!
“Mary, what’s the matter?” said Mom.
“I don’t feel so good,” Mary said, putting Kitty down and putting the test paper into her backpack quickly.
Mom prepared some tea for Mary. After drinking a few sips, Mary walked slowly to her room and fell onto her bed. How could she tell the class she hadn’t earned the prize after all?
Soon Mary heard her dad and Kevin come in. The smell of pizza floated in the air.
Mary thought back to the last time they’d picked up pizza, after Kevin’s school play. They had almost reached home when Mom realized the shop owner had given them too much change. On finding this, Mom turned back without hesitation.
The whole time they were driving back to the pizzeria, Kevin kept saying, “It’s not our fault. The shop owner should have been more careful.”
    Had Kevin been right?
Mary went into the kitchen. Dad laughed and asked her where she had put the test. After all, there need some proof if they were having the pizza to celebrate.

Ms. Green was unlocking the classroom door when Mary got to school the next morning.
    _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
    【答案】One possible version
Mary went to her room and pulled out the test paper. If Kevin had been right about the shop owner, then it wasn’t Mary’s fault to win the prize. Shouldn’t Ms. Green have been more careful? If she put the missing t back in, no one would ever know. Mary picked up her pencil and was about to write it down, when her door was knocked. It was her parents. They noticed her abnormal reaction and decided to have a heart-to-heart talk with her.
Ms. Green was unlocking the classroom door when Mary got to school the next morning. Mary gave her teacher the dictionary and pointed out the misspelled word. “I see.” Ms. Green pushed open the door. “Come in and sit down, Mary.” For a moment, Ms. Green stood quietly reading the label on the dictionary. Then she picked up her pen. She crossed out the word perfect and wrote honest before handing the dictionary back. Mary got to keep this, for honesty.

Having studied for an hour, I went up to the roof for a break and saw about 50 people swimming in the natural rock pool below our house. It was a sunny day—a blue, cloudless sky over a calm sea. However, when I looked in the distance, I discovered three or four big waves were heading towards the shore. I’d seen these mini-tsunamis (海啸) so many times. They were heading quickly in the direction of the pool. Most people knew how to look out for them, but from the screams coming from the beach, I could tell someone was in trouble.
Without hesitation, I ran down into the street, holding my body board (俯伏冲浪板) on the way and shouted at a passer-by to go inside my house and call the coastguard. My neighbor Moises had heard the scream and was also outside with his body board, so together we rushed to the steps that led down to the sea.
Once closer, we discovered the waves had pulled a boy and a girl from the pool into the open sea. I knew that the nearest boat would take at least 30 minutes to reach us. Waiting for help wasn’t a good choice. I wasn’t used to this sort of emergency—I’d never been trained as a lifeguard—but I didn’t think twice about trying to save them. I supposed in a way I wanted to impress everyone: at 19, a deal like that can seem like a good opportunity to show off.
Moises and I dived into the water and it took us 10 minutes to get to them. When we finally reached them, they were almost lifeless with only their heads coming in and out of the water. We could tell they were still alive from their small breaths but it was clear they wouldn’t have been able to stay there much longer. I held the boy and pulled him over my board. Moises moved the girl onto his board. We discussed pushing them back to the shore, but we were too far out.

    【答案】One possible version:
We had to wait. We were eagerly hoping for the arrival of the saving boat. The wild wind blew and the freezing sea water clapped our bodies continuously. 30 minutes seemed much longer as we just helplessly floated on the sea. After a long time, a light spot appeared in the distance! We waved our hands and yelled out for help. The boat finally reached us and took all of us back to the shore. The two children were immediately sent to the nearest hospital.
That night, news came from the hospital that the two children were in good condition. Picturing what the merry scene would be, relief lay in my heart and happiness appeared on my face. The next morning, all the people I met smiled to me and could not stop praising me. It seemed like a good opportunity to show myself off, but I didn’t mean to. In fact, I was ashamed I had thought about it. It occurred to me that helping others was priceless.

It was commencement (毕业典礼) at our college. People were pouring into the hall as I entered it. Finding the choice seats in the center of the hall already taken, I pressed forward, looking to the right and left for a seat. Finally, I found one in the very front row.
Here a little girl moved along to make room for me, looking into my face with large gray eyes. Again and again I found my eyes turning to the rose-like face, and each time the gray eyes moved half-smiling to meet mine. Obviously , she was ready to make friends with me. And when, with a bright smile, she returned my dropped handkerchief, and I said “thank you”, we seemed good friends. “
Other persons now coming into the seats, crowded me quite close to the girl. Her face beamed with pleasure and pride as she said, “My brother is going to graduate. He’s going to deliver a speech. I’ ve brought these flowers to send to him”.
“That is my brother,” she went on, “that handsome one with brown wavy hair. There! He’s waving his hands now. You see him, don’t you?” “I see him,” I responded. “He’s a very good-looking brother.” She said with delight. “And he’s so good and studies so hard that he has an honor to speak.”
“His speech is a good one, and he says it beautifully. He has said it to me many times that I almost know it by heart,” the girl continued.
As the ceremony went on, my little friend became excited and restless. “Now, it’s his turn, “she said, turning to me with a face in which pride, delight and anxiety seemed equally mixed, She rose to her feet and tiptoed for a better view of her brother. By the way,her brother came up the steps and onto the stage, I also knew he was trembling. His face was pale and lips were blue as with a cold. I felt anxious that he might have been seized by stage fright. The little girl, too, seemed to realize things were not well with him.”

Then a puzzled, struggling look came upon his face, then a helpless look, and then he stood staring at the waiting audience like one person in a dream. “He’s forgotten it,” she said. Afterwards, the unhappy brother was already rushing off the stage. She ran towards her brother, slipped her hands into his, whispering if he knew his speech now, and he nodded.
Surprisingly, she came up to the president, asking, “Will you let my brother try again?” The president stared at her and then nodded. She went down and encouraged her brother. The audience all sat still, holding their breath. I noticed her eyes full of tears. When the speech ended, the audience broke into thunderous applause. The girl came on the stage proudly and presented the flowers to her brother. The brother put his arms around his sister and thanked her for helping to save the day.

Emily White came to the world 17 years ago, with so many birth problems in her body. Some of her organs, bones and muscles were out of shape. No one expected her to survive long. She did make it but with her strange body figure, everyone could recognize her, even from a distance.
In her hometown, a yearly outdoor performance was held in the school auditorium (礼堂). It had been performed for so many years and actually had become one of the most important events of the Christmas season for many of the town’s people.
Many people tried out each year for it, but so many were turned away. It can only include the most excellent people in the field.
Emily had a beautiful singing voice. Last year she went to Mrs. Owens-her music teacher-to ask to join in the performance. Without letting her sing, Mrs. Owens took a glance at Emily’s body and said, “Child, you are just not suitable. Everyone would stare at you and that would make you uncomfortable. It would make them uncomfortable, too.”
Without singing a single note, Emily was sent back through the door of the choral (合唱的) room. Hurt and upset, she decided never to try out again. But Mrs. Owens then retired.
This year, there came a new music teacher, Mr. Butler. He heard about Emily and suggested that she have a try.
Emily didn’t want to be rejected again, so she hesitated about it. As Emily struggled, the door was pushed open and Mr. Butler called, “Emily, you’re next.” Kind of nervous as she was, Emily did as Mr. Butler told her to. Mr. Butler sat by the piano to keep Emily company. When Emily finished her testing performance, she thanked Mr. Butler and knew the result would be posted on the door of the choral room the next day.
Emily couldn’t sleep that night. She tossed and turned in bed one thousand times.
She was suffering from the feelings that she didn’t fit and the great need to be accepted.
By the next morning, her stomach was even in pain due to stress.

    ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
【答案】 Emily hurried to school and anxiously glanced at the list on the door of the choral room. The fear of being rejected came to strike again. “Jeff Green, Rose Black.” she murmured as her eyes moved upward. “Wow!” Emily abruptly covered her wide-opened mouth, feeling as if her heart would jump out. There, at the top of the list was posted her name. The leading singer! However, whispers around her pulled her back to earth. Just then, she felt a pat on the shoulder. It was Mr. Butler. “We selected you for our faith in your abilities and voice.” Inspired, Emily worked even harder for the final performance.
Finally, the day for the performance came. Emily’s eyes danced with excitement as she stepped on to the stage. Standing still she heard noises among the crowd. Obviously not cheers! Emily felt nervous again and even her legs began trembling. At that moment, her eyes parked on Mr. Butler at the corner. He nodded and exchanged a determined glance with her, which timely put her heart back in place. With the music rising, Emily began her singing. Her sweet voice poured and the audience fell into an abrupt silence. When she finished, the auditorium erupted into a sea of cheers. Emily White in tears, with so many birth problems in her body, became the shiniest star!

One particularly cold Saturday in January, I was supposed to take our dog out for a walk, but it was so cold that I didn’t want to go outside. Instead, I just opened the door and let the dog out by himself. I kept an eye on him to make sure he would come back inside.
However, another neighborhood dog quickly ran past our house, and our dog sped after to catch him. I hurriedly went to grab my coat so I could follow my dog, and then I rushed outside. Unfortunately, I was already too late, and my dog was nowhere in sight. I walked a few blocks, but I was unable to find him.
Depressed, I returned home. My mother was standing at the door waiting, and she asked me what had happened. “I know I was supposed to walk our dog,” I admitted, “but I thought he would be able to go outside and come back by himself. Now he’s gone and I can’t find him anywhere.”
My mother was very angry with me; she said I should have been more responsible. She decided to help by making some signs. The signs read, “Lost: A big black dog. Please call us right away” and she printed our phone number on the bottom. “Okay, Darrell,” she said, as she handed over those signs, “now go post these on all the street posts.”

When I returned, my mother was waiting for me, smiling broadly.

【答案】I grabbed the signs and rushed out. I was incredibly sad and worried about our dog. Carrying the signs made by my mother, I was busy posting them along our street as well as along the surrounding streets. In the meantime, whenever there were people passing by, I would ask if they had met such a dog. Nobody claimed to have spotted our dog. Tears of regret welled up in my eyes. As the darkness fell, I decided to come back home to check if anybody had called.
When I returned, my mother was waiting for me, smiling broadly. There, behind my mother, was our lovely dog looking up at me eagerly. Upon seeing me, it raced towards me. I couldn’t hold my tears. “It just came back by itself,” my mother said gently. Hugging the dog with relief, I apologized to my mother sincerely. “I am sure you have learned your lesson today,” my mother replied in a comforting voice. It was on the day that I learned the value of responsibility.

    The Leap
Once a twelve-year-old boy was traveling around the world by sea. His father was the captain of the ship. Now, the ship was sailing home at last. It was a pleasant day. All the passengers were on the deck(甲板).
A monkey was making funny faces at the passengers. It became funnier as more passengers came closer, enjoying its tricks. Suddenly the monkey ran towards the captain’s son and took his hat. It then put the hat on its own head. Soon after that, it climbed up the tall pole with two crossbeams(横梁)that supported the sails(帆) on the ship.
Everyone laughed, but the boy was not sure whether to laugh or cry. It had come as a surprise. The monkey sat on the first crossbeam of the pole, took off the hat and began to tear it.
The hat was too important for the boy. So he shouted with extreme anger, “You terrible creature! Return my hat or you are going to pay for it.” He went after the monkey on the pole, which continued to climb higher.
“I am not going to forgive you,” the boy shouted, as he climbed higher and higher. After a while, the monkey stretched itself to its full length and hung what remained of the hat on the end of the second crossbeam. Then it climbed to the very tip of the pole and sat there, making fun of the boy.
The distance from the pole to the end of the crossbeam, where the hat was, was about two meters. To reach the hat, the boy had to let go of the pole. Everyone froze with fear when they saw the boy had stepped onto the crossbeam without support. One wrong step, and he would fall hard to the board of the ship, which would lead to death. The only solution was to jump into the water. However, the boy didn’t realize the danger, as his mind was focused only on getting the hat.

    【答案】One possible version:
Just then the captain came on deck. He was surprised at the sight of the huge crowd. Then he looked up, only to find his son likely to fall at any moment. A sudden wave of panic swept over him. But he managed to pretend to be calm. “Hey, Dad is here! Be brave and jump into the water!” Hearing the words, the boy hesitated before he stuttered, “But…” The captain added, “Trust me! I’ll get you out immediately.” Finally the boy agreed and jumped off. At the same time, the captain, along with some sailors, dashed into the water, rescued the boy and brought him back on board. They pressed his stomach and water came out of his mouth and nose. Then he began to breathe.
Seeing his son wet but alive, the captain breathed a sigh of relief. A burst of applause and cheers broke out from the crowd. Though he had an outward appearance of calm, his heart was pounding with nervousness. Never in his wildest dream did he imagine he was so close to losing his beloved son. At the same time, he was proud of his son for making a wise choice in face of danger. He kept his son company for a long while until his son felt better. The moment the boy stood up, he threw himself into his father’s arms, saying in a gentle voice “Thank you, Dad!” with tears of gratitude and happiness rolling down his cheeks.

Jonathan had been wandering on the streets for almost a whole day after angrily running away from his home in the morning. Thinking of his quarrel with his mother for his study, he still felt depressed and hopeless.
It was freezing and snowing at dusk on such a winter day. And the sky was dark. He was walking down an empty set where there were no passers-by, because people must have locked themselves at home for warmth. Jonathan was walking to a crossroad when suddenly he encountered a little boy stuck in the middle of the road alone like him.
Jonathan had meant to turn a blind eye to him at first. But the boy’s sad crying and the worry that he might be hit by cars made Jonathan just not walk away. He approached, saying, “Hey! What are you doing alone here? Where is your mother?”
“I want to go to mama and papa. Please take me home,” the boy replied, bursting into tears. Jonathan led him away from the crossroad. Then, he asked worriedly, “How did you come here? What’s your name?”
“I’m Leo. I was playing with my cat. He ran away, and I ran after him for a long distance. But when I turned back home, I lost my way,” cried the boy. Feeling pity for the boy, Jonathan decided that he couldn’t leave the little boy alone here. With no cellphone and considering the police station was far from here, Jonathan decided to help him first.
He took him to different neighborhoods, aiming to look for his home. But things didn’t go that smoothly as he had expected. It was getting darker, and Jonathan thought he had to find Leo’s home. He knocked on every door, noneffective. Exhausted and starving, he realized Leo must be as hungry as him. He offered him the chocolate he had bought with his rest money. It was snowing more heavily, and he removed his coat and put it around Leo.

    【答案】One possible version:
Suddenly, a police car was drawing, and Jonathan waved with excitement to it. To his relief, the police car pulled up and two policemen got off. Jonathan couldn’t wait to explain what had happened to Leo. Then, the policemen checked for any missing person’s report without any delay, but found none. Having no choice, they drove the two of them around the nearby to continue searching for Leo’s home. Finally, they made it to contact the boy’s parents. Jonathan was more than glad to witness Leo’s reunion with his parents.
Seeing Leo and his parents off, Jonathan was lost in thought. Recalling how anxious Leo’s parents were and how joyful the boy was to see his parents again just now, Jonathan was deeply touched. He thought his parents must be as worried as Leo’s. Or maybe they were anxiously searching the world for their son right now. He grew guilty for ignoring his parents’ love for him and for what he had done today. All his anger dying away in an instant, he rushed in the direction of his home.

Brodie and his father lived in a caravan (宿营拖车) ever since his mother died and they lost their house. Now they worked for Miss Martha in the garden.
Brodie’s father had been a famous violin player. Brodie loved to watch how his father made the bow dance and glide (滑动) across the strings. When he turned 12, his father taught him how to play the instrument properly. Brodie was a fast learner and soon he could play the violin almost as well as his dad.
One day, Miss Samson, Brodie’s teacher, asked if anyone could play the violin. A talent scout (星探) was coming to school. He was looking for someone to play in the musical Mr Spy.
Hollie Larson’s hand went up fast. “I can play the violin,” she said. “I play in competitions.” Brodie kept quiet, but his friend Cam said, “Brodie has a violin and he can play it too.”
Brodie slid down in his seat. There was no way he would be good enough to play for an audience. He wasn’t going to make a fool of himself. Hollie Larson was good at everything.
“Bring your instruments tomorrow for a trial run,” the teacher said. “And oh, if you are selected, the pay is good!”
Brodie’s father let him take the violin. “But do take good care of it, Brodie,” he said.
Hollie Larson offered to play first. She was good, really good. Brodie suddenly felt embarrassed. There was no way he could play after her. But Miss Samson’s voice was demanding. “Brodie,” she said. “Your turn!”
Brodie felt his face get hot as he pulled out the violin. But the minute the bow touched the strings, Brodie was transported to a different world. He was back in Martha’s garden listening to his father. The room, was silent as Brodie walked back to his seat. And then came the applause, everyone clapping, except Hollie Larson.
Since the talent scout would come the next morning, Brodie decided to put the violin case on a high shelf in the classroom that night. It was the safest place, he thought. But, he was wrong!

    _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
    【答案】One possible version:
The next morning when he arrived, he found the case had fallen. Brodie could hardly believe his eyes. The neck of the violin was broken. That was when the talent scout came into the room. “Your teacher tells me there is real talent here,” he said, looking around. “I’m looking forward to hearing you.” Again, it was Hollie Larson who played first. Brodie listened but seemed to hear nothing. He saw that the talent scout smiled and whispered something to Miss Samson. When it was Brodie’s turn, Brodie lowered his head and explained his situation, overwhelmed by a wave of sadness.
Suddenly, Hollie Larson walked toward him, holding out her violin—“Use mine,” she said. Brodie was stunned. Hollie really longed to win, but now she was offering him a chance. He had thought it was she who damaged his violin! He shook his head, but she insisted. “If you can’t play, that’s not a real win.” Casting a grateful glance at her, Brodie took over the violin. While playing, he felt his inner world coming back to peace. The talent scout was on his feet, smiling and clapping. So Brodie won the selection and was to play the violin in Mr Spy. Hollie didn’t win, but she and Brodie became true friends.

Catherine was the coolest kid in her class. Wherever she went, she was in the spotlight, with a bunch of kids following her and doing everything she did.
Her deskmate, Landy, however, was not in the cool kids’ group. Being the tallest kid in her class, she was laughed at by her classmates, who were always chanting(唱起……歌) “Landy, Landy, long as spaghetti(意大利面)”.
Catherine didn’t really like it when the kids chanted “Landy, Landy, long as spaghetti”. But she never told them to stop either, and nor did she ever talk to her. She liked being popular.
One weekend, Catherine went over to visit her grandfather. Her grandfather lives on a farm, where he keeps chickens. While helping to feed the chickens, Catherine noticed a special one. Hidden in the corner, it looked smaller than the others and was almost half-bare!
“What’s the matter with it?” She asked her grandfather, with a puzzled frown on her face. Her grandfather told her how chickens could act. “They have a pecking(啄) order,” he explained, wrinkles of concern spreading around his forehead. “If one chicken is different, the others will push it away and keep pecking it. Sometimes they peck it so much that it dies.”
“Oh, what a poor little thing!” Catherine let out a sigh as she picked the frightened chicken up in her arms, whose heart was beating fast in the bony little body. Suddenly, she thought of Landy, the girl being “pecked” by her classmates. “I’m going to take it home and take good care of it,” she said with a determined look.
Back in school, Catherine told the cool kids about the chicken. “It’s looking healthy,” she said proudly. “It’s fatter and its feathers are growing. Even the cat likes it. She carries it around, and...” Everyone was entertained by Catherine’s story of her lovely chicken, laughter spreading around the classroom.

    1. 续写词数应为150左右;

Then Catherine spotted Landy seated alone in a corner.

But Catherine walked toward Landy, no matter what they said.
    ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
    【答案】possible version:
Then Catherine spotted Landy seated alone in a corner. She ducked her head with her eyes fixed on the floor as usual. It hit Catherine that the pecking order worked in school, too. Landy was just like the poor little chicken, being teased and ignored by her classmates, merely due to her special height. “It’s high time to do something for a change.” Catherine thought to herself. Having made up her mind, she urged the rest cool kids to make peace with Landy. Astonished at what she said, all the kids burst out screaming, “Talking to the long spaghetti? Are you crazy?”
But Catherine walked directly toward Landy, no matter what they said. “Landy, sorry about the spaghetti thing. I should have realized it earlier. Can you forgive us?” Catherine murmured an apology, her face reddening. She figured Landy might just walk away. But she lifted her misty eyes and nodded yes. Catherine wiped away her tears, giving her a warm hug. Moved by the scene, the other kids also came to offer their sincere apologies to Landy. From that day on, no one made up silly chants about Landy, and Catherine also learned that everyone should be treated equally no matter how special he or she was.
①由第一段首句内容“Then Catherine spotted Landy seated alone in a corner.(然后Catherine发现Landy独自坐在角落里。)”可知,第一段描写Catherine发现Landy被冷落的样子而产生的联想,Catherine准备道歉,引起其他同学的惊讶或不满。
②由第二段首句内容“But Catherine walked directly toward Landy, no matter what they said. (Catherine不顾他们说什么径直朝Landy走去。)”可知,第二段描写Catherine主动找Landy道歉,Landy和其他同学深受感动。
    2. 续写线索:Catherine看到孤独呆在角落里的Landy——Catherine想到了“受欺凌”的小鸡——Catherine想要改变——Catherine希望大家向Landy道歉——Catherine独自走向Landy并道歉——Landy原谅,彼此拥抱——大家和平相处
