An Unforgettable Experience

Last summer vacation, my friend Helen asked me to have a backpack trip with her to Yunnan. At first, I couldn’t make up my mind because of the fear of getting lost and possible danger. But she encouraged me and we started our first backpack trip.

Along the way, we had so much fun enjoying the wonderful scenery and the unique culture. In Lijiang, we lived in a small inn of the ancient town. To our surprise, the people next to our room were two foreigners. We were so excited that we kept chatting with them. At school, I always felt shy and worried about speaking English in a wrong way, but that time I just thought about sharing my ideas and experiences with the foreign friends. Now we still keep in touch with each other.

What an unforgettable experience! From that experience, I learn that if you want to do something, just go ahead and you will get unforgettable memories.

When the Spring Festival comes, no matter where people are, they’ll come back home and get together with their family. Before the festival, people are usually busy cleaning up their houses and putting up couplets on doors. On the eve of the festival, people always have a big dinner with their family, and then watch the Spring Festival Gala on TV. As for children, they enjoy letting off fireworks and getting red packets. The next few days is a good time for people to visit their relatives and friends.

I like the Spring Festival best, because I can visit my relatives and get many red packets.
