(2021·江苏南京·南师附中新城初中校考二模)Have you ever felt you were being watched? Some new technologies might make you feel that way. Digital billboards (电子屏幕) are able to recognize certain human characteristics (特征). They have cameras pointed at the people on the street, and can recognize people’s age, a man or a woman. Then a computer inside the billboard uses this information to make ads (advertisements) for the people who are looking at the billboard. For example, if a man passes a billboard showing an ad about women clothes, the computer can change the ad to something such as men’s sporting shoes, to catch the man’s attention.
Although advertisers see this as a great chance to reach their customers, some people feel that this is an invasion (侵犯) of their privacy. However, advertisers say that the billboards will not be able to recognize their face or get any personal information about them.
In fact, this kind of “personal” advertising has already appeared on the Internet. Search engines (引擎) like Google and Bing can follow what we search for. When we have searched for some products and services, companies then pay search engines to use it in ads. So if you search for travel information, you may see ads for airlines and hotels. This kind of advertising has proved to work better than traditional advertising.
In today’s world, people see thousands of ads every day, but they don’t take much notice. Advertisers are trying to change that by personalizing the experience of seeing an ad. So pay attention the next time you see a billboard—it would be talking to you.
7.When you watch a billboard showing ads on the street, _______.
A.people will pay more attention to you B.it will change ads to catch your attention
C.cameras will record what you are wearing D.computers will steal your personal information
8.From the second paragraph, we can learn that _______.

C.each person has his own opinion D.private information is important
9.The underlined word “it” refers to _______.
A.the tool customers use B.the technology they develop
C.the information we search for D.the chance companies get
10.What is the best title for the passage?
A.The rise of a new advertising B.The advantage of billboards
C.The history of advertising D.The invention of billboards

Someone gives you one marshmallow (棉花糖). You can eat it right away or wait for 15 to 20 minutes and get two. Would you wait?
①________ This is the famous “marshmallow test” from the 1960s. It was used to see how much self-control children have. Surprisingly, a recent study shows that cuttlefish(乌贼) can pass this test too.
What’s the study?
Scientists at the University of Cambridge did the study. They set up two boxes of food for the cuttlefish. One had grass shrimp (藻虾) and the other had shore crab (食草蟹). Cuttlefish like to eat grass shrimp more than shore crab. They could eat the shore crab right away, but if they wanted to eat their favourite grass shrimp, the needed to wait.
②________ It turned out that the cuttlefish would wait 50 to 130 seconds for grass shrimp. “This is quite clever,” scientist Nicola Clayton said.
Why can they do this?

……
That evening Holmes again wore different clothes, and a large, black hat. But it was not just the clothes that were different. He changed his face, his hair—everything. He was a different man.
We walked together to Serpentine Avenue. Outside the house there were a lot of people who were smoking, laughing and talking. Holmes and I walked up and down in front of the house.
“You see,” said Holmes to me, “I don’t think she wants her new husband to see the photo. But where is it? At her bank? No. Such a woman likes to keep important things herself. I’m sure it’s in her house.”
“But the King’s men tried to find it!” I said.
“Yes. But they didn’t know where to look for it!” said Holmes. “But how will you know?” I asked. “She’ll show me. She’ll have to.”
Just then Irene’s taxi arrived. One of the men in the street ran to open the door and then another man pushed him. Other men were also pushing and shouting, and a fight began. Irene was in the middle of it, but Holmes ran to help her. Then suddenly he fell to the ground, with blood running down his face. Irene hurried to her front door, but she looked back. “How kind of him to help me! Is the poor man hurt?” she called.
“He’s dead,” cried some voices. “No, he’s only hurt,” cried others. “Bring him into the living room,” she said.
Some people carried Holmes into the house. I waited outside the window and watched. I saw how beautiful Irene was. Then Holmes put up his hand, and I threw the smoke-stick into the room. At once, the people in the street and in the house all began to shout “Fire!” very loudly. The house was full of smoke. I walked away, and ten minutes later Holmes came to meet me.
“Well done, Watson,” he said. “Have you got the photo?” I asked.
“I know where it is. She showed me,” he answered. “But why did she show you?”
“It’s easy,” he said, and laughed. “You saw all those people in the street? I paid them to help us. It wasn’t a real fight and the blood wasn’t real. When people shout ‘Fire!’ a woman runs to the most important thing in her house, her baby, her gold, or…a photo. Irene ran to find her photo which is in a cupboard in the living room. I saw it. But I did not take it. Tomorrow we will go to the palace and tell it to the King first. And then we will go to her house with the King. We’ll go very early, before she gets up. Imagine you are in Africa. Suddenly, a group of spots streaks past you. What was it? It may have been a cheetah, the fastest animal on land. It can run up to 70 miles per hour, which is faster than most cars moving on the highway!
In many ways, the cheetah is built for speed. Even though this animal is a cat, its paws are much more like a dog’s paws. The paws allow the cheetah to make quick turns. A cheetah also has long legs that help it take big steps. It can jump as far as 20 feet in one leap! Even the cheetah’s backbone helps it move quickly. The backbone acts as a spring (弹簧), moving the cheetah forward with sudden burst (迸发) of energy. Although the cheetah can run fast, it cannot run for long distance. It uses its energy quickly and becomes tired. If the cheetah cannot catch its dinner in a hurry, it will have to rest a while before trying again.
A cheetah is also made to be a great hunter. It has sharp eyesight. A cheetah can see other animals up to three miles away. Good eyesight helps the cheetah find its prey (猎物) so it can plan an attack. A cheetah’s coat is also very useful. The coat is light brown with black spots. It allows a cheetah to hide in the tall, brown grass in Africa. Other animals do not see it hiding, so a cheetah can get close to rabbits, birds, and other animals quietly.
Today the cheetah is in danger. Parts of Africa are being turned into farms. This change forces the cheetah and other animals to find new places to live, which is not always easy. Cheetahs are also being hunted by other animals such as lions and hyenas. However, zookeepers and wildlife experts are trying to save the cheetah. Maybe with their help, cheetahs will grow larger in number.

(2021·江苏南京·统考二模)Technology has made life easier in many ways. People can shop and learn online without ever leaving their homes. We use cameras, phones, Internet devices (设备) fitness tools, and more. While technology has influenced how people’s needs are met, it has also influenced how people make a living.
Many people have jobs that meet other people’s wants and needs. The things people need are goods or services. Human labour is required in order to provide goods and services to society. People who work make money, and then they spend their money on goods and services that other people provide. We spend money on things we need. But what happens to all the stores that sell items that people just don’t want any more?
There was a time when people had to go to a video store to hire movies. But today, such video stores are hard to find. People can watch movies on their electronic and wireless (无线的) devices. The number of bookstores has also decreased (减少) as many people download electronic books. It isn’t only the stores, books, and videos that are disappearing, it is also the jobs these stores provided.
There are some services that people depend on that cannot be sent from a distance. Painters, for example, must arrive at a place to paint the house, and a childcare provider must be with a child to make sure that the child is safe.
Technology provides chances for people to create new jobs. For example, new technology products need a labour force, as salesmen are needed to sell the technology to people and businesses. People need experts (专业人士) who can answer questions and repair technology products when there are problems. There are many jobs in the technology field. How to be a safe and smart searcher
Several keywords will help to find better results.
Use more than one keyword when you are doing a search. If you want to find out about seagulls, for example, search for “bird seagull” and not just “seagull” -- because seagull might also be the name of just about anything else, from a hotel to a documentary film.
Exact reference can help you find what you’re looking for.
If you are looking for an exact phrase or sentence, e.g. “seagulls are very clever”, type it between inverted commas (“”) and only exact matches will be shown. This is useful when you want to find something you’ve already seen but lost.
Avoid common words like “a” or “the” in a search. These aren’t always helpful and are usually unnecessary.
Remove unwanted results by adding a minus symbol (-). For example, “Seagull-hotel-film” would leave out all references to hotels and films.
Check your spelling.
Make sure that you spell every word in the search box correctly. The smallest typing mistakes can bring unwanted results -- especially when the mistyped word exists.
Have a filter.
It’s a good idea to filter(过滤) your online searchers, especially when you are searching for pictures. Ask an adult to help you add a filtering system. There are lots of filtering software options available.
Experiment with different search engines until you find the one that’s best for you. Some search engines personalize the results, so check out the option of using a search engine that doesn’t do this and you will get different results.
Reliability is very important when you search on the Internet.
Always ask yourself, “Is this reliable?” Don’t make the mistake of believing everything you see. Some websites are unreliable and some information is false. Check your information on other websites before accepting it.
49.Which of the following things should you do as a smart searcher?
a. Use only one keyword in a single search.
b. Avoid terms like “a” or “the” in a search.
c. Choose your search engine carefully.
d. Pay no attention to small spelling mistakes.
e. Compare information from different sites.
A.abc B.ace C.bcd D.bce
50.According to the passage, the minus symbol .
A.can make search results more exactly B.is equal to inverted commas in a search
C.is likely to give you a long list of results D.is usually considered unnecessary in a search
51.From the passage, we know that a filtering system .
A.is used to tick out false information on a website
B.is especially important while searching for pictures
C.personalizes your results when you are doing a search
D.is useful to find something you’ve already seen but lost

Mom knows me too well: pomegranate seeds are my favorite. They never appear on my food schedule though, as I lack the patience to peel them properly. Mom doesn’t have the patience either, except when it comes to feeding me.
Her hands moved gently and swiftly, while her eyes looked carefully at the small watery little seeds, attentively trying not to crush(压碎) them.
When I woke up the next day and opened the fridge. Sure enough, waiting for me was a clear jar of perfect smooth and shiny pomegranate seeds.
Ever since I left home to study in London ten years ago, food has been a big part of mom’s London visits.
With each trip, she would be sure to fill the entire fridge with hand-made dumplings, rice cakes, rice puddings, sesame filled sweet dumplings and many other sweets I struggle to find English translations for.
I love watching her turn the loose white flour into moon-shaped dumplings magically, and place them neatly into a tray.
Whenever it’s time to say goodbye, mom would never say that she misses me, or that she loves me. Instead, she’ll just say: “don’t starve yourself while I’m not with you”. That’s because she belongs to a generation where food is an expression of love. At that time, her favorite after-school activity was visiting an old granny, who would feed her rice mixed with sesame oil. “Mmm… that’s the best food we could hope for back then,” she would say.
In her generation, people would greet each other saying “Have you eaten?” We don’t do that in China anymore, but I still look forward to the tradition of my whole family gathering together to prepare food across a big kitchen table at special occasions, such as the Chinese New Year. Such sweet childhood memories have stayed with me.
It’s funny that living in the super health-conscious city of London has taught me to think about food in terms of calories and carb content. Well, mom’s home-made dumplings don’t have any food labels. No calorie calculation, no fat percentages, nothing on the package telling me to eat my “five a day”. Instead, every bite of mom’s food tastes of love, and of the feeling of home.

(2022·江苏南京·校联考二模)Have you ever thought about how much water you use in a day?
Starting February 1st, each person in Cape Town, South Africa received a daily supply of 13.2 gallons of water which is only enough for a 10-minute shower!
This restriction(限制) was introduced in preparation for April 22nd, also known as Day Zero, on which the city will turn off all municipal( 市 政 ) water taps because of the overuse of fresh water these years.
Over the past three years, Cape Town has suffered from a dangerous drought( 干旱). That, along with a growing population of four million people, has caused water-supply drop strongly. As of November 2017, the water level in their largest water reservoir( 水库) had dropped to 28% from 102.9% in 2014. That amount is expected to come down to 13.5% by April 22, 2018. What’s worse, the last 10% of the reservoir’s levels are not potable (safe to drink) because of the dirt at the bottom.
Firstly, researchers thought the cause of the drought was El Niño. Cape Town could become the first ever major city to run out of water. The government has called on people to conserve the little water they have left by way of prevention, including stopping car washing and filling up swimming pools. They are asking the public to cut showers to two minutes and reuse bathing water to flush the toilet.
When Cape Town reaches Day Zero, there will be 200 water stations scattered across the town for people to receive their daily supply of 6.6 gallons. Armed guards will stand by to make sure there is no violence or theft.
The water shortage has already influenced all parts of Cape Town. People’s lives are being affected, with those in the tourism industry and businesses like car washing, seeing no chance to make a living. The relationship between people also becomes worse as neighbors are encouraged to report each other for water waste and the government plans to collect a drought tax as they are losing tax money because of the low water use.

Dear Mrs. Fairweather,
I would like you to know how very sorry I am for my part in the accident at the Babingley cross-roads.

As a crowd was beginning to gather, I was advised to return to Sandringham House by a local Police Officer. I have since learned that you suffered a broken arm. I am deeply sorry about this injury.

(2021·江苏南京·统考二模)Most people who move to a foreign country may experience a period of time when they feel very homesick and have a lot of stress. This experience is often called “culture shock”. It is important to understand and learn how to deal with it if you want to adapt (适应) successfully to your new home’s culture.
Generally speaking, there are four stages you will experience if you move to a foreign country. The first stage is usually referred to as (被称为) the excitement stage. When arriving in a new environment, you’ll be interested in the new culture; everything will seem exciting and everyone will seem friendly.
But it isn’t long before the excitement stage moves into the second stage. The excitement you felt before changes to stress. It seems that everything is difficult; the language is hard to learn, friends are difficult to make, and even simple things like shopping are challenges. It is at this stage that you are likely to feel frustrated (沮丧) and homesick. This is the stage which is referred to as “culture shock”.
However, culture shock doesn’t last very long. If you are one of those who manage to overcome it, you’ll move into the “recovery” stage. At this stage, you start to understand and accept the way things are done and the way people behave in your new environment.
The last stage is the “home” stage. This is the stage when you start to feel at home in the new culture. You start to learn from your new home, and prefer certain aspects of the new culture to your own culture.

(2021·江苏南京·统考二模)A new school has opened recently. For an hour, pupils are taught how to use the mouse, the keyboard and the computer. Nothing unusual about that, you might think; except that these pupils are toddlers, ages just two or three.
We asked two experts their opinions on the growing phenomenon (现象) of “technology for toddlers”: Do you think we should teach computer skills to very young children?
•YES
Judy Clarke, director of technology, York College
At my college, we think that “ ________.” Although the usual age for the national school exams is 16, we put our best pupils forward for exams if we think they are ready. They might be just seven years old. Having had great success with these courses, we began to think about the “Technology for Toddlers” classes. They are aimed at giving the pre-school pupils a head start not only in technology skills, but also in writing, reading and communication using the computer. Apart from the actual lessons, we also encourage parents to get the children to practise their new skills at home. Parents say to me all the time, “Sarah can count up to 30 and is ahead of her peers” or “Jack has gained so much confidence from your classes.” Comments like these make it all worthwhile for me.
•NO
Alan Jackson, educational psychologist, Cardiff
I’ve worked as an educational psychologist (心理学家) for many years and I must say that I’m very worried about this trend for encouraging younger and younger children to use computers. The negative (负面的) aspects of staring at a screen for a long time at a young age are obvious. The lack of physical exercise, for example, can lead to obesity (肥胖) and the lack of interaction (互动) with real people can lead to problems with speech development. These are just two of the problems, but I could go on and on. I feel sorry for these children who clearly need to be running around and climbing trees with their friends.

74.What does Alan Jackson mean by saying “but I could go on and on”?

B.He still has much to do to deal with the serious problem.
C.He will keep studying the matter of teaching toddlers computer skills.
D.He thinks there are a lot more problems of young children using computers.

(2021·江苏南京·统考二模)Chinese scientist Yuan Longping, famous for developing first hybrid rice strain that pulled countless people out of hunger, passed away at 91 at about 1 p.m., May 22, 2021.
On China’s Twitter-like Sina Weibo, the news has been viewed 950 million times so far. “Three times a day, when we enjoy the fragrance of rice, you will be dearly remembered.” said a comment(评论)that has been liked more than 600,000 times.
Yuan once said he had two dreams — to “enjoy the cool under the rice crops taller than men” and that hybrid rice could be grown all over the world to help solve the global food scarcity.
Having spent over five decades in hybrid rice research, the academician with the Chinese Academy of Engineering has helped China work a great wonder — feeding nearly one-fifth of the world’s population with less than 9 percent of the world’s total land.
Since the 1980s, Yuan’s team has offered training courses in dozens of countries in Africa, the American and Asia — providing a robust food source in areas with a high risk of famine. Globally, more than 820 million people were hungry in 2018, according to a UN report. And if hybrid rice is planted in half of the world’s 147 million hectares of paddy fields, the additional yield alone can feed another 500 million people, said Yuan.
Now the focus of Yuan’s hybrid rice project has changed from increasing output to green and sustainable development. In September 2017, a strain of low-cadmium indica rice(低镉籼稻) developed by Yuan’s team and the Hunan provincial academy of agricultural sciences was able to reduce the average amount of cadmium in rice by more than 90 percent in areas suffering from heavy metal pollution.

(2021·江苏南京·统考二模)Every week, two converted blue buses packed with children’s books carefully drive along the streets of Kabul, avoiding areas where deadly explosions (爆炸) are common. These travelling libraries stop off at schools in different parts of the city, delivering a wealth of reading material directly to youngsters who have limited access to books.
“A lot of schools in our city don’t have access to something as basic as a library,” says Freshta Karim, a 27-year-old Oxford University graduate who was inspired to start Charmaghz, a non-profit (非盈利的) organization, in her home city having grown up without many books herself. “We were trying to understand what we could do to promote critical (批判的) thinking in our country.”
While for commuters, a bus or train journey presents a rare opportunity to get stuck into a book. In some cities public transport is being used as means of getting books to communities that need them most. Vehicles are being reimagined and upcycled (升级改造) not only to spread the joy of reading, but also to educate and improve lives.
Afghanistan, for example, has one of the world’s lowest literacy (读写能力) rates, with only three in 10 adults able to read, according to UNESCO. The majority of public schools in Kabul do not have libraries and the city’s libraries do not offer many children’s books.
For Karim, buses were a cost-effective, efficient way to get books to children. Charmarghz rents them from a state-owned bus company. “We go to nearby schools,” she says. “We try to stop inside communities rather than on the main streets where explosions often happen.”
The organization is funded by donations from local business and communities, and also rents a third bus that acts as a mobile cinema. Over 600 children visit the buses each day to read, socialize and play games. “They are often very excited,” she says. “Our biggest challenge is that so many children want to come inside the bus, but we can’t have all of them in one day.”

I had now the key to all languages, and I was eager to learn to use it. Children who hear acquire language without any particular effort, while the little deaf child like me must trap them by a slow and often painful process. But whatever the process, the result is wonderful.
At first, when my teacher told me about a new thing, I asked very few questions. My ideas were not clear, and my vocabulary was inadequate. But as my knowledge of things grew, I learned more and more words. Sometimes a new word revived an image that some earlier experience had engraved (雕刻) on my brain.
I remember the morning that I first asked the meaning of the word, “love.” This was before I knew many words. I had found a few early violets in the garden and brought them to my teacher, Miss Sullivan. She put her arm gently round me and spelled into my hand, “I love Helen.”
“What is love?” I asked.
She drew me closer to her and said, “It is here,” pointing to my heart, whose beats I was conscious of for the first time. Her words puzzled me very much because I did not then understand anything unless I touched it.
I smelt the violets in her hand and asked, half in words, half in signs, a question which meant, “Is love the sweetness of flowers?”
“No,” said my teacher.
Again I thought. The warm sun was shining on us.
“Is this not love?” I asked, pointing in the direction from which the heat came.
It seemed to me that there could be nothing more beautiful than the sun, whose warmth makes all things grow. But Miss Sullivan shook her head, and I was greatly puzzled. I thought it strange that my teacher could not show me love.
A day or two afterward I was stringing beads (串珠子) of different sizes in symmetrical groups. I had made many mistakes, and Miss Sullivan had pointed them out again and again with gentle patience. Finally, I noticed a very obvious mistake in the sequence and for an instant I concentrated my attention on the lesson and tried to think how I should have arranged the beads. Miss Sullivan touched my forehead and spelled with decided emphasis, “Think.” In a flash I knew that the word was the name of the process that was going on in my head. This was my first conscious understanding of an abstract (抽象的) idea.
For a long time I was still trying to find a meaning for “love” in the light of this new idea. The sun had been under a cloud all day, and there had been brief showers, but suddenly the sun broke forth in all its southern splendor (光辉).
Again I asked my teacher, “Is this not love?”
“Love is something like the clouds that were in the sky before the sun came out,” she replied. The she explained in simpler words. You cannot touch the clouds, you know, but you feel the rain and know how glad the flowers and the thirsty earth are to have it after a hot day. “You cannot touch love either, but you feel the sweetness that it pours into everything. Without love you would not be happy or want to play.” The beautiful truth burst upon my mind — I felt that there were invisible lines stretched between my spirit and the spirits of others.
87.Why did Helen have trouble understanding what love is?
A.Because she was deaf. B.Because she was little.
C.Because she had no teacher. D.Because she made no effort.
88.In this passage, Miss Sullivan compares love to ________.
A.the warm sun B.the beating heart
C.the sweetness of flowers D.the clouds before the sun came out
89.What was Helen’s first conscious understanding of an abstract idea?
A.Love. B.Think. C.Find. D.Touch.
90.What is the best title for this passage?
A.Learn about love B.Language is fun

One fine day, Monkey watched a woman walking along the road from high in his treetop. Suddenly, she fell down over a stone and dropped her pot! It broke into many pieces and white cakes inside scattered (撒) on the road.
"Oh, have I ever got trouble now! I have so much trouble!" cried out the lady. She tried to gather the cakes in her skirt, but failed. Soon she gave up and left.
Monkey hurried down the tree trunk to the ground. "These are trouble?" he said to himself. "I will taste this trouble, for it looks quite delicious." The cakes were coconut cakes and indeed delicious. Monkey ate every one of them.

Monkey needed water! Under the tree those three fierce dogs were barking at him. He had to wait until they grew bored and left. Then Monkey quickly returned to the ground and ran to stream. He drank lots of cool water. After a while his burnt mouth felt better.

The island had always been her home to Kiki, and she loved it. She had been just about a year old when the ship she and her family had been on was caught in a great storm. She didn't remember their home in England, where she had been born She certainly didn't remember how her family had arrived on the island in lifeboats or even how they had built houses and made new lives.
The Martin family and the others who had survived in the shipwreck (沉船) had worked hard to make the island livable. In the weeks following the wreck, boxes of seeds, tools and food were washed up on the beach. These boxes gave the survivors a chance to build a new life on the island. Now, after ten years' hard work, everyone had a comfortable home and there was plenty of food.
Kiki and the other children explored the island every day. One day, the children had climbed up the highest mountain on the island to study the sea birds that nested (筑巢) on the cliffs. There, Kiki saw four great ships sailing toward the island.
By the time Kiki and her friends climbed down the mountain, the ships had reached the island and the captain and his sailors were surprised to find other English settlers (定居者) there. They had known about the shipwreck, of course, but they had no idea there were survivors. The ships were sailing to Australia, and the survivors were welcomed to join them.
That, however, was the problem. Almost all the survivors didn't want to leave the island, especially the children like Kiki who had spent most of their lives there or the twelve children who had been born there. For them, the island was their world, and they couldn't imagine leaving it.

(2022·江苏南京·统考二模)Bacteria Cafeteria
Every day, people use teeth to cut, tear, and chew food. They eat most of the food. But bits of food stick to their teeth. People's mouths are filled with bacteria (细菌). They eat the bits of food. The bacteria increase and build up on the teeth. And they can quickly form a coating called plaque (牙斑).
The bacteria in the plaque produce acid (酸). More acid is created when someone eats food which has sugar or starch. Candy and cookie are sugary foods. Potato chips have starch. The acid from the bacteria goes to work on the teeth. Each tooth has a protective covering called enamel (釉质). It's the hardest material in the body. But the acid is strong enough to eat through the enamel. This creates tooth decay (蛀蚀).
Next, the acid can work its way inside the tooth. Under the enamel is softer material called dentine. Acid quickly eats through the dentine, creating a hole called a cavity. Then the acid can reach the pulp (髓) inside the dentine. The pulp has blood vessels (血管) that feed the tooth. It also has nerves (神经). When the nerves get hurt, a person may feel a toothache.
A dentist should fix tooth decay. Bodies can repair broken bones but not decayed teeth. That's because enamel and dentine aren't living things. Dentists clean out the decay and fill the space with strong material.
But tooth decay should be prevented in the first place. People should visit the dentist twice a year. Dentists clean and examine the teeth. They can treat any tooth problems early. People should also take care of their own teeth. To remove bits of food, bacteria, and acid, people should clean them between their teeth at least once a day. They should also brush their teeth at least twice a day—even when they don't feel like it!
101.What is the purpose of the article?
A.To explain how bacteria work. B.To give a talk on tooth health.
C.To advertise for a dentist hospital. D.To remind people to care about tooth health.
102.What does acid do?
A.It makes teeth stronger. B.It eats through tooth enamel.
C.It produces bacteria in the mouth. D.It cleans the teeth and protects them.
103.What is a cavity in Paragraph 3?
A.A hole in the tooth. B.A protective covering.
C.A vessel in the pulp. D.A nerve inside the tooth.
104.Why can't your body repair decayed teeth?
A.The nerves are badly hurt. B.Cavities are too hard to fix.
C.Enamel and dentine aren't living things. D.The acid eats through the dentine.
105.What does the title "Bacteria Cafeteria" mean?
A.Bacteria and cafeteria rhyme with each other.
B.A cafeteria serves food, and you eat food there.
