本单元的写作任务是描写一种动物，属于事物说明文；以具体事物为说明对象，将事物的“是什么”作为说明重点，对事物的状态、性质、类别，结构构造、用途功能、发展变化等特征，进行科学说明。写一篇好的说明文应解决好以下几个问题：
1.要抓住说明对象的特征；
2.要合理地安排说明顺序；
3.要采用恰当的说明方法；
4.要运用合理的说明结构；
5.语言要准确、简洁、通俗。
有关动物介绍的说明文，主要介绍动物的形态、习性、分布、品种、功用、饲养以及历史发展状况等。具体来说主要包括以下几个方面：
1.外貌；
2.栖息地；
3.迁徙情况；
4.食物；
5.其他信息。

假如你是李华，你的美国朋友Peter想了解大象。请你给他写封邮件，根据下面的提示介绍一下大象这种动物。
1.是陆地上最大的动物，出生时约有90千克重，一米高。
2.到12岁时，就不再生长了。毛是灰色的，有长鼻子和两只大耳朵，通常生活在河谷中，以草和树叶为食。每天喝大量的水。
3.经常群居，互相照顾；非洲大象每年迁徙。
4.大象现在是并且将来也会是最伟大的生物之一。
注意：
1.词数80左右；
2.可适当增加细节，以使行文连贯。
审题
写作要求是介绍大象这种动物，写作时应注意下面几点：
1.确定文体：这是一篇说明文。写作时注意说明文的写作特点。
2.主体时态：文章应以一般现在时为主。
3.主体人称：由于是介绍一种动物，所以人称应该以第三人称为主。

第一部分：开门见山，引入主题：介绍大象。
第二部分：具体介绍大象的情况。
第三部分：进行评论和总结。

3.请把句3和句4按下列要求合并成一句话。
(1)It usually lives in valleys and there are enough grass or leaves in these valleys.(用并列句合并句子)
(2)It usually lives in valleys where there are enough grass or leaves.(用where引导定语从句合并句子)
用适当的过渡词语，把以上词汇和句式，再加上联想内容，组成一篇80词左右的英语短文。
