根据 Lucha libre 中的“Don’t forget to bring some loose change: when viewers are impressed by a victorious wrestler, they throw money at them.”
根据 Lawnmower(割草机)racing 中的“The BLRA remains un-commercial and donates all profits to organizations that help people who are poor, sick, or in difficulties.”
根据四个竞技运动的介绍,它们中有 annual,every year, once in a year 等信息,说明这些竞技运动一年举办一次。故选 A。
B
根据第一段中“As a quiet and shy girl, I feared improvising in front
of strangers. However, I knew I wanted to work as a science communicator after finishing my Ph.D., so it seemed like a perfect opportunity to learn how to speak and communicate with others effectively. I signed up, knowing the experience would give me help.”
根据第三段中“I became better at listening, relating to my conversation partners, and communicating clearly in the moment.”
根据倒数第二段“The benefits of improvisation go beyond communication. Before attending the class, I would get stuck when my experiments produced unexpected data, thinking that I had made a mistake. But now, instead of getting discouraged, I will stay open to the possibility that the results are real, keep exploring the data and end up identifying a new type of cell—one that isn’t behaving as expected.( 即 兴交流的好处不仅仅体现在交流方面。
根据最后一段“I think all scientists can benefit from this lesson. If the data say rhinos are librarians, then it’s worth finding out whether rhinos are, in fact, librarians. As scientists, our job isn’t to challenge data that support a preconceived (先入为主的) story, but to say ‘yes, and.’”
The treeline is the edge of an ecosystem where trees are able to grow, and beyond the treeline environmental conditions become too tough to allow
tree growth. Meanwhile, snowlines are the boundaries on mountains that separate areas with permanent snow (where snow is present for the majority of the year) from areas with seasonal or no snow.(树木生长线是树木能够生长的生态系统的边缘,在树木生长线之外的环境条件过于艰难,无法让树木生长。 故选 A。
In the past 40 years,25% of all Himalayan ice has been lost due to global warming.(在过去的 40 年里,由于全球变暖,喜马拉雅的百分之二十五的冰都融化了)和The rate of glacier melting has doubled in this decade.(在这十年里,冰山融化速率翻了一倍)可知,气候变暖直接导致冰川融化加快。故选 B。
Plant Life Spreads in the Himalayas.(植物的生命在喜马拉雅山蔓延)最适合作本文标题。故选 D。
D
根据第一段中“Similar to their pork substitutes, the new products are said to offer a safe and alternative source of protein while tackling environmental concerns like overfishing and worsening of the seas.(与他们的猪肉替代品类似,这些新产品据说提供了一种安全的替代蛋白质来源,同时解决了过度捕捞和海洋恶化等环境问题)”可 知,植物性海鲜的亮点是环保。故选 C。
根据第二段“Omnifoods’ expansion comes at a time when the market for plant-based products is growing. According to Enterprise Singapore, local interest in sensible consumption doubled in 2021, and flexitarians — people who primarily eat a plant-based diet but occasionally consume meat or seafood — represent the fastest growth. The ocean is another reason cited as the need for plant-based seafood. The average person here consumed 22kg of seafood last year, surpassing the global average of 20kg. The World Wide Fund for Nature(WWF) also observed that three quarters of the seafood
served in Singapore is unsustainable. Besides, fish farming involves the use of chemicals to prevent disease and parasites and these chemicals then accumulate in fish tissues, which becomes a serious threat to people’s health.
根据最后一段中“Growthwell Group recently raised US $22 million to fund its attempt into shrimp, squid and crab made using chickpea protein. “Global demand for plant-based meats is also shooting up, with the value set to reach US $ 23.2 billion by 2024,” said market research company Euromonitor.(Growthwell 集团最近筹集了 2200 万美元,用于开发用鹰嘴豆蛋白制成的虾、鱿鱼和螃蟹。 故选 A。
根据第一段“Launched in Singapore last November, Hong Kong-based company Omnifoods has introduced a range of six plant-based seafood to stand in for tuna, crab and whitefish. Similar to their pork substitutes, the new products are said to offer a safe and alternative source of protein while tackling environmental concerns like overfishing and worsening of the seas.(去年 11 月,总部位于香港的 Omnifoods 公司在新加坡推出了 6 种植物性海鲜,取代了金枪鱼、螃蟹和白鱼。

39. D【解析】根据下句“A parent should teach their children early on how to moderate their volume and tone based on the situation. You can make it into a fun game for little ones, like seeing who can whisper the quietest at a cinema.”

1 is far more than 2 in the United States and Japan 是非限制性定语从句, 先行词是 485,000 yuan,在从句中做主语,指物,用关系代词 which。故填 which。
故填 that。

句子有时间状语 in the last few years, 所以谓语要用现在完成时。 故填 have caused。

4. a→ an;
5. hoping → hope;
6. 去掉 that;
7. meetings → meeting;

10. me 后加 to。

enjoyable 以元音因素开头,用冠词 an,故将 a 改为 an。
It is+adj.+for sb. to do sth. 故去掉 for 前的 that。
if so“如果是那样的话”;if not“如果不是”。
故将 my 改为 your。

M: So far, so good. You know, I have got a terrific amount of work to do but I have lots of fun as well. It’s just the weather that’s not so good.
W: Yeah. It’s not great! It’s a bit gray at the moment.
M: It’s a little bit gray, a little bit wet and a little bit cold for me. I’ve spent six days up in Scotland as well, which was even colder.
W: What’s it like in Australia?
M: At the moment we’re just going into summer so it’s starting to get warm. W: And how long are you going to stay here?
M: Probably just another few days. I kind of miss my family. W: Come on, have fun. Now that you’re traveling, be happy. M: Do you often keep in touch with your family?
W: I video chat with them every day. How about you? M: Well, I text or call.
W: Well, hope you have a great day.
Text 10
W: Two years ago, I moved to this area. During the two years’ living in this flat, I’ve always had difficulty in having a good sleep at night because my neighbors are always making great noises. I can’t stand this any longer and decide to move away. I have been looking for a new flat since the beginning of this year. Every week I go to the house agent’s office, but the man there always tells me the same words. He says that there may be some good flats by the end of the week. I have seen a few flats during my search but none of them satisfy me. One flat I saw had been empty for two years and it was next to a busy road on one side and a railway on the other! Last week I went to the house agent’s office again. He told me I could get a really quiet flat and that I wouldn’t have any noisy neighbors. I went to see it at once. I was angry because it was next to an area for dead people. Just imagine what a terrible thing it is to have dead people as neighbors.
