教学目标		1. Get the main idea by scanning; 2. Speak out the meaning of several important new words, such as represent, goal, basis, equipment, content, factor, death, etc； 3. Identify the writing style and find out the author's main arguments, as well as writing an essay ——the development of science 4. Understand the last sentence of the passage.
教学重点		1. Obtain the fact that football is popular and relevant reasons as well as examples; 2. Understand the meaning of several new words by reading the passage;
教学难点		1. Learn about the writing structure of the passage and writing an argumentative composition; 2. Realize football is much more than just a sport.

学情分析及学习方法		In this lesson, I will mainly use Task-based teaching method, communicative approach and cooperation-study method to guide Ss to use effective reading strategies to comprehend the text, solve difficulties and complete different tasks.

Ss predict what the most popular sports in the world ,Then the Ss answer how much they know about football.
