Teaching objectives:
- Students can be able to understand the article, summarize the main idea of the article and obtain detailed information through skimming and scanning.
- According to the time clues, retell the watching feelings of Hamlet and The Revenge of Prince Zidan in the first person and talk about their favourite art forms and TV programs.
- Identify and use appropriate English to express different art forms and TV programs. Enable the students to appreciate the artistic charm of Peking Opera so that can enhance their sense of identity and national pride of traditional Chinese culture, and stimulate the sense of mission of inheriting and carrying forward traditional Chinese culture.
Evaluation objectives:
- Enable students to master the writing method of using open-wired line and buried line, and use it in their own writing.
- Enable students to express their own opinions based on the content of the text and the reality of life.
Teaching key points:
- Master the English expressions of different art forms and TV Programs.
- Complete relevant reading tasks, obtain information from the text and integrate it, and retell The Revenge of Prince Zidan in the first person.
- Comprehend the artistic charm of Peking Opera based on the text and enhance the sense of identify and national pride of traditional Chinese culture.

Teaching procedures:
Step1:Pre-reading
Activity 1
The teacher presents the famous saying“To be or not to be, That’s a question”and ask the students two questions:
- Which opera is it from?--Hamlet.
- Do you know the Peking Opera version of Hamlet?
Activity2
The teacher asks a question: Do you prefer Peking Opera or Opera in the west?Then the teacher asks the students to finish Activity 1 on page 38.
Look at the pictures of two performances and talk about their differences and similarities.

having seen为非谓语动词作原因状语,see动作发生在be full of之前,故使用having seen,而不是用seeing。
