 Vincent van Gogh was born on March 30, 1853, in a small village in southern Holland. As a child, he was serious and sensitive. He loved to draw, and his work showed talent, but no one encouraged him to become an artist. Instead, his father thought he should take a job—something like a carpenter. As a young adult, he wandered from job to job with little success and very little money, becoming more depressed with each failure. In March 1880, however, just before his 27th birthday, something changed inside van Gogh. He realized he was meant to be a painter, and he began to study art in Brussels, receiving money from his brother Theo, which helped him to live.
    In 1886, van Gogh moved to Paris, hoping to learn more about color techniques being used by Impressionist (印象派的) artists there. Instead of grays and browns, his work began to use blue and red, and then yellow and orange. Soon he began to see life differently: Go slow. Stop thinking. Look around. You'll see something beautiful if you open yourself. These were the principles that guide his art. With his innovative (创新的) use of colors, van Gogh wanted to show his viewers how to better appreciate a flower, the night sky, or a person's face.

Right now, social media is flooded with photos of people with their celery(芹菜) juice. They say that the green drink cured them of headaches, skin conditions, and cleared poisons in their bodies, and left them with a feeling of pure joy.

If celery juice did, indeed, wash viruses（病毒） out of the body and cure headaches, wouldn't the world be free of headache medicine? And the medical explanations surrounding celery juice's powers just don't make sense—for instance, that drinking celery juice increases bile(胆汁) or that it "restores your central nervous system". Huh?
      There are also drawbacks（缺点） of juicing in general. It's quicker to drink juice than it is to eat fruits and vegetables, so it may feel less satisfying than eating whole food. You also lose the fiber when juicing. Celery juice is made by putting the stalks(茎秆) through a juicer or processing them in a regular fruit mixer and straining the mixture through cheesecloth or a nut-milk bag, leaving all the fiber behind. It's stated that removing the fiber from celery makes the healing powers stronger, but unlike celery juice, fiber is actually proven to be good for you. The benefits range from keeping you regular to lowering blood pressure.
