A long time ago, there were two kings who hated each other. Their names were Shah Ali and Shah Elvin. The villagers of their kingdoms we’re sure that there would be a war soon because the Shahs spent so much time threatening one another.
It went on like this for many years. Ali would feel slighted(藐视)by Elvin, or Elvin would feel mocked(蔑视)by Ali. The villagers were stuck in the middle of the argument. They were always afraid that war would come and destroy their homes. Finally, one day, Ali announced, "That's it!I declare(宣布)war on Elvin!"
Elvin had not been to war in a very long time. He hadn't worn his battle clothes in years. He even forgot where he had stored them. The day before the battle began, he asked his mother Sabine, to find his helmet.
Sabine returned without the helmet. "What happened to my helmet?"Elvin asked.
"I couldn't move it, "Sabine said gently. "A mother dove has made a nest in your helmet. She has three little babies. They are safe and sound in it. I see her coming and going from the nest all day long, bringing food to her babies. She tries so hard to take good care of them. Please, don't disturb them. Doves are the most peace-loving birds. They never harm anything. How could I destroy this happy little bird's home?"
Elvin understood. He smiled and nodded his head. "I don't need my helmet to do battle, Elvin said.
On the battlefield, Ali noticed that Elvin was not wearing his helmet.
"Where is your helmet?"Ali asked. A king at war without a helmet? This was unheard of!"My mother found a dove nesting in it, "Elvin admitted. "We didn't want to disturb the family. ”
Ali laughed and sent his wise men to visit Sabine and see the helmet for themselves. When the wise men returned, they all verified(核实) that there was indeed a dove nesting in Elvin's helmet. This shocked Ali. The most peaceful bird of all nesting in a war helmet. How amazing! Ali smiled.
"This is a sign, "Ali said. "The most peaceful bird decided to nest in a war helmet. This means that we must be like the dove and make peace. ”
“Really?”asked Elvin
“Yes, ”Ali said. “You and your mother didn't want to destroy a little bird family's home. How could we destroy the homes of thousands of families?"
And so,the two Shahs signed(签署)agreements to keep peace and friendship forever. Ali and Elvin became known for their wisdom. And, from then on, the dove became known as the symbol of peace.

Zhou Jiangtao passed away at only 17 years old. He got bone cancer when he was 13. Four days before the announcement of his death, he asked to donate his organs (器官). “I do know the pain of suffering from disease and the helplessness of having no cure (治愈方法) …I’ve seen so much sadness and regret and want to offer help.”
On the day he ‘‘left’’, two patients who had been waiting for cornea transplants (角膜移植) were told they would get donations. Zhou’s body was moved to Zhejieng University School of Medicine on the same day.
It has been 12 years since China started a national pilot (试点) programme for human organ donation. According to the China Organ Donation Administrative Center, about 300,000 people across China are waiting for life-sustaining (维持生命的) organ transplants, but only 20, 000 receive transplants each year.
In recent years, organ donation and transplantation have gotten more public support in China. As of April 2, more than 4. 62 million people had signed up (登记) for organ donation, said the center. As many as 75 people can benefit from a single donor (捐献者). There’s no age limit to donation, while people under 18 need a guardian’s consent (监护人同意).
In China, there are some deeply rooted traditions about the bodies of dead people. For example, many believe the body is a gift from one’s parents. So, they think dead bodies must be kept complete.
But many others have changed their beliefs. Donating organs is a way to help others and extend (延展) the meaning of one’s life. Increased willingness has been seen among young and
middle-aged people, noted People’s Daily. “Dedication (奉献) makes life more precious (宝贵的) than oneself,” Zhou once said.
76.What did Zhou Jiangtao decide to donate?

十三、阅读回答问题
请认真阅读下面短文,并根据短文内容回答问题。
Chinese people are angry. Since March, some Western companies, including H&M and Nike, have come under the spotlight(受到关注). They said they will stop using cotton from Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region.
They said they are following industry requirements set by the Better Cotton Initiative(BCL 良好棉花发展协会). It is a Switzerland-based cotton organization with 2,100 members worldwide, including famous brands like Nike, Adidas and Burberry. Recently, the BCI said forced labor(强迫劳动) might be used in Xinjiang.
This is a complete lie, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The so-called “Xinjiang Uygur question” is nothing but way for the US to weaken China from the inside, said Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying on March 26.
In fact, China is protecting human rights in the region. The government has been organizing job offerings for cotton field owners in Xinjiang, as well as improving local people’s lives. The region’s cotton and textile(纺织) industry has created jobs for more than 600,000 local people. In 2020, the per capita disposable income(人均可支配收入) for residents(居民) living in cities and towns of Xinjiang was 34,838 yuan, 2.41 times that of 2010.
China is the world’s second-largest cotton producer and Xinjiang accounts for nearly 90 percent of the country’s cotton production. However, the increases in China’s cotton production and the growing textile industry are making some in the US and the West nervous. Although the BCI sets the rules for the global cotton industry, its move was driven by pressure from these countries.
What are the results? The move of the BCI and the brands seriously hurt the feelings of the Chinese people. Chinese netizens(网民) called it “earning money from China but defaming(污名化) it on major issues”.
“I support Xinjiang cotton” has become a popular online activity on weibo. So far, most of China’s major e-commerce platforms, including Taobao and JD.com, have cleared all products and search results related to H&M. Chinese brand ambassadors(品牌大使) like Wang Yibo and Zhang Yixing for H&M, Nike and Adidas have also pulled out of their deals.
As a member of BCI, Anta announced that it is starting the process to get out of the organization. And it will continue to use cotton produced from Xinjiang.
76.Why does “Xinjiang Uygur question” break out according to Hua Chunying?
