Dolphins(海豚) are one of the cleverest animals in the world. We may hear of many stories about how dolphins save people out of water.
Dolphins often eat fish and some other sea animals. A dolphin with a weight of 200kg to 250kg will eat 10kg to 25kg of fish every day. They like to swim with other dolphins and usually hunt(捕猎) in groups.
Dolphins have very good hearing. They use it to find things under the water. Many scientists
also believe dolphins can even talk to each other through a special whistle(哨声). People from different areas don’t speak the same language. Just like people, dolphins’ whistles have many kinds. One day we may understand dolphins’ whistles, and then they will be able to tell us about themselves.
Dolphins live in the sea, but they are not a kind of fish and they don’t lay eggs. They have babies in the same way as cows and cats do, and give their babies milk. A female dolphin has a baby every two to three years.
Dolphins are very friendly. Sadly, there are not many kinds of dolphins left. People killed them for many years for food and other things. Now it’s time to stop this and perhaps there will be more of them in the years to come.

Once a circle lost a piece of its own. The circle wanted to be whole, so it went around looking for its missing piece. But because it was incomplete(不完整的), it could only roll very slowly. It admired the flowers, chatted with snails(蜗牛) and enjoyed the sunshine along the way. It found lots of different pieces, but none of them fit. So it left them all by the side of the road and kept on looking for the missing piece.
Then one day the circle found a piece that fit perfectly. The circle put the missing piece into itself. It could be whole with nothing missing. It was so happy and began to roll. Now that it was a perfect circle, it could roll very fast, too fast to see flowers or talk to snails. It realized how different the world was when it rolled so quickly. It felt so sad that ▲ .
Sometimes we are more perfect when we lose something. A man who has everything is a
poor man in some ways. He will never have hope, dreams or something better. He will never know someone is loving him or someone is giving him something.
Life is not a spelling game. No matter how many words you got right, you fail if you make one mistake. Life is more like a basketball season. Even the best team loses and even the worst team has its good days. Our goal is to win more games than we lose. When we accept that imperfection is part of being humans, and when we can continue rolling t hrough life and enjoy it, we will have reached a wholeness.

Last week, my father and I went back to my hometown – Zibo in Shandong – to try Zibo barbecue. Recently, the local food has become so popular that people all over China travel there to taste it.
On the way to Zibo, my father told me a story. Last year during the COVID-19, thousands of college students were stuck in Zibo. The local government helped students to get through that period and offered a great barbecue dinner before they went back to their school. The government officers also invited the students to come back to Zibo again when spring came. I was moved when I heard this.
At 5 pm, we arrived at the restaurant. My father had booked a table two days earlier. If not, there wouldn’t be any seats for us. There are some differences between Zibo’s barbecue and the ones in other cities. People need to cook on the grill (烤架) by themselves. Also, when the food is ready, you put it onto a small pancake with scallions (葱) and sauce before eating.
People in the restaurant didn’t know each other before. But we just talked naturally about
daily life and sang together. The boss of the restaurant even danced. Some local people even put off their orders when they heard there weren’t enough seats. They wanted tourists from other places to have the chance to eat.
After eating the delicious food, I kept thinking about why Zibo became popular. Is it the promise between the government and the college students, or the special, tasty food, or the warm-hearted people?
