情态动词must的用法

(一)must表示必须的时候， 多是指现在活着将来的情况， 用来强调说话这的主观语气。同时must也是表示有必要或有义务去做某事。对must表示比小时候的一般疑问句肯定回答是用must， 否定回答是don’t have to 或者needn’t. 如：

You must listen to teachers carefully in class. 上课时你必须认真听讲。

---Must I finish the work today?--- Yes, you must./No, you needn’t.

（二）must和have to的区别

　1) 表示主观上的必须、必要。You must come in time.

　mustn’t意思是“禁止， 不准”。 You mustn’t play football on the road.你不准在路上踢足球。

　　2) have to则强调客观需要。Must只有一般现在时， have to 有更多的时态形式。

如： I had to stay at home yesterday because my mother was ill.  我必须待在家里， 因为我母亲病了。
