一﹑Warming up

1．Greeting.

2．Free talk.

二、Presentation

1．Presentation the purposes in this class.

（Read the purpose）

2．Study the new words in the sentences.

板书：these, small, long, tail, very

（1）These two rabbits are white.

（2）They have small red eyes, long ears and short tails.

（3）They are very cute.

3．Look at the pictures of the text, ask pupils to answer the following question: Are they your rabbits?

Pupils answer: Yes, they are. / No, they aren't.

Ask pupils: Whose rabbits are these? (They're my cousin's.)

4．Write the sentences on the blackboard, and read them together.

5．Learn the new words: mouse, mice, pig, horse.

三﹑Practice

1．Listen and match.

2．Play a game:

Do you have a pet?

What is it?

Is it a…?

…

3．After getting a few answers from pupils, change to: Do you have a pet?

What colour is it?

4．Talk briefly about the pictures with pupils in task 3 Look, read and write T (True) or F (False).

E.g.:

Is there a…?

Are there some…?

How many… are there?

What colour is/ are the…?

Are the ears/ tails long or short?

Explain the task. Give pupils time to do the reading and write in True or False.

5．Do the project: Pupils do a survey to find out about their classmates' pets.

四、Story time & Did you know?

1．Look at the picture and listen to the tape.

2．Read the story.

3．Act out the story.

4．To know many animals make good pets.

五、Consolidation

1．Read the words and the sentences.

2．Listen to the tape and read after the tape.

3．Sum up.
