In some parts of China, people eat qingtuan when spring comes. Qingtuan is a green rice dumpling made with mugwort (艾草). Online sales platform(平台) got record-high daily sales of 13, 000 qingtuan on the first day when it came out in early March.
The seasonal snack, which stands for the cultural symbols of many areas in China, is becoming a popular snack in the country. If the charm of zongzi lies in bamboo leaves and packaging, the charm of qingtuan lies in its green appearance and rich filling.
Similar to moon cakes, the taste of qingtuan has broken traditional limits and is becoming a creative snack. Besides traditional sesame(芝麻) fillings, there are also strawberry, sweet potato, rose, rice, noodles and beef. The new tastes are created to meet the needs of young customers with different tastes.
There are different ways for people to sell qingtuan. Apart from restaurants, supermarkets and convenience stores, qingtuan makers are also exploring online methods to reach more young customers.
As the geographical characteristics of qingtuan are very strong and many customers outside the Yangtze River Delta area are not familiar with it. Enjoying the beauty of the sky at night is a rare thing for people in cities since light pollution ruins everything. However, photos taken by astrophotographers(天文摄影师) give people opportunities to admire the stars.
Being a full-time astrophotographer, Zhang Jingyi, 27, grew up being an astronomy enthusiast(爱好者). When being asked why she chose this career, Zhang said, “We all dream of what it is like to live on planets so far from us. Isn’t it cool?”
As a result of the fast development of China’s space industry, Zhang started to shoot(拍摄) rocket launching(发射) moments in recent years. “I basically followed the construction of the Tiangong space station with my camera.” She said, adding that every launch has given her a strong sense of achievement.
Zhang believes that her photos are artworks that money cannot buy. “Some photographers may sell their works —some photos even reach six digits(六位数),” Zhang said, “For me, I would be satisfied if people simply like my work.” As an influencer on Sina Weibo with more than 2.5 million followers, Zhang also shares videos that she’s filmed, giving her audience a more authentic(真实的) impression of her work.
Zhang said that an astrophotographer needs to be devoted to their career. For example, when taking photos of the stars, they have to film them on plateaus(高原) which are freezing at night. “These hardships are nothing if you truly love what you do,” Zhang said.

Connecting with Nature
How do you feel when you hear birds singing freely in the trees? What’s your feeling when you see butterflies dancing slowly and lightly in the wind? Whether you love researching the outdoors or watching far away, getting close to nature can keep your mind away from your worries and make you feel relaxed.
What is nature?
Nature means the world around us that is not man-made, including birds, mountains, trees, the sea and the stars. It’s a force and can control things like weather. We can find nature wherever we are and wherever we go—beaches, gardens, parks, rivers, and even unexpected places like cracks(裂缝) in the stones.
Why does nature make us feel good?
Spending time in nature makes our lives peaceful, joyful and wonderful. It takes us outdoors, gets us active and lets us care more about the environment. Even a little gift of nature can make us feel free and hopeful, such as breathing in fresh air, listening to the wind in the trees or standing at a mountain. Ralphie, who is 10, likes being close to nature on a bike with his family. He says, “It makes us feel happy and takes our mind off things because we have to pay attention. We are away from traffic and we hear more birdsong and see more wild animals.”
How can we feel closer to nature?
Feeling closer to nature is easy. We can build a connection with nature wherever we are using our senses. Try listening closely to birdsong, smelling flowers and feeling sand between our fingers. Paint a picture and take photos of the natural places that we like best. They may help us feel closer to the natural world. It’s important to try and connect with nature, notice its beauty and how it makes us feel.

I want to say thanks to my mom
There are lots of people around me in my daily life. But I would like to say thanks to my mother, not only for her love, but also for her help when I’m in trouble.
Once I failed my exam, and it made me so upset. When I arrived home, my mother comforted me patiently instead of punishing me. She told me it was common for students to fail in exams and she used to get poor grades, too. Hearing this, a feeling of being understood crowded in my heart. Then, she helped me find out the reasons why I failed the exam and gave me some suggestions which were useful to me. I followed the suggestions and got a good grade again finally.
In my opinion, my mother is so selfless that she has given me a lot but never asks for anything in return. It is my mother who fills my world with happiness and love. It is my mother who gives me courage to overcome unknown difficulties. I’m supposed to express my thanks to my mother.
