The Galapagos Islands are a group of 19 islands in the eastern Pacific Ocean. They lie on the equator*, 600 miles west of South America.
The equator goes through the Galapagos Islands so the place receives lots of heat. However, ocean water also passes the islands, bringing cool wind as well. The average temperature of the islands is about 25 degrees and as a result, they become habitats of various kinds of animals, including the Land Lguana which likes hot and dry weather, and the very special Galapagos Giant Tortoise that can only survive there.
Darwin first came to the Galapagos in 1835. After spending five weeks studying the native species*, he soon discovered that they fit themselves in the environment over time. His study of wildlife on the islands helped him understand evolution* and later published a book called On the Origin of Species, which changed the way people thought about the nature of species.
Nowadays, there are plenty of activities in the Galapagos for all interests. Visitors can practise adventure sports like diving under the sea. They can enjoy the beautiful fish under the sea and take photos with them. It is also a good idea to take a boat around the islands or just lie on the beach. If you love walking, enjoying yourselves in Galapagos National Park is quite relaxing. You can find volcanic rocks with different forms and shapes. But remember that you need to follow a nice guide who can share their experiences with you.

Eczema is a disease which influences children and teenagers much more often than adults.
The symptoms!* of eczema are different among people, including dry, itchy skin with redness, or sores. Eczema can happen on any part of the body, such as hands, feet, knees, face and neck. The condition can last for more than one year. Most children will not get eczema as they grow up. However, some people have eczema again when they get older. This means that they need a long-lasting treatment.
Why do people get eczema? Your genes?*. Doctors found that if both parents have eczema, their child is 3-5 times more likely to have one as well. Meanwhile, some doctors found that kids who live in cities may have the higher possibility of getting eczema than those who live in the country. Other causes of eczema include types of soap, dry wintertime air, and some clothes that make the skin uncomfortable.
Eczema can have a large effect on a person’s life. The itchy feeling of eczema can be so serious that it keeps many patients awake at night, which makes them more tired and nervous during the day. The itchiness can also make it hard to focus on work or school. Also, if viruses get under the skin, sometimes they can cause more serious diseases. So people with eczema are more likely to get ill than people with healthy skin. Finally, people may lose confidence because of looking different.
There are plenty of way to treat eczema or to stop it from getting worse. The most important is to make sure to use moisturizers often. They moisturize the skin and prevent it from getting dry. When moisturizer does not work, doctors may tell patients to take medicines to help with eczema. If those ways can’t help patients at all, doctors will suggest other treatments like light therapy*, which uses specific waves of light by machines. But if you do have eczema, avoid hot showers or baths to keep the skin from getting itchy. Remember to keep clear of some clothes like sweaters. Now you can help others learn about eczema too!

A.makes people’s skin wet B. needs a short-time treatment
C.influences people of all ages D.happens on certain parts of the body

One day, Wald went to the supermarket to buy some groceries* for his wife Layla. On the way home, he stopped at an art gallery where people were holding a pop-art exhibition.
Then, being so moved by what he saw, he left the bag of groceries on the floor and went home. When Wald rushed back to the gallery, the groceries had been awarded the first prize in the exhibition.
“We’ve been looking everywhere for you,” the gallery owner said. “Why didn’t you sign your name of art?”
“What? It’s not a work of art. It’s my dinner for tonight!” Wald replied.
The gallery was suddenly full of laughter. “He’s not only a great artist, but has humour as well.” A judge said. “You can see that in his work, another judge cheered, “How the bottle of tomato ketchup is leaning against the pork and beans! He is a genius*! Notice the way the bottle of peach is lying on its side! Even Artist Andy Warhol wouldn’t have thought of it!”
Did you notice the way that he pressed the cheesecake on the bottom of the bag? I think that’s why he can win the first prize. It makes Artist Picasso feel ashamed.” A lady said excitedly.
“Look,” Wald said. “I’m very thankful for all these praises, but my wife is waiting for these groceries, and I have to get it home.”
“Get it home?”The gallery owner said surprisingly, “I’ve just sold it to that couple over there for 1,500 dollars.”
“But the groceries cost me only 18 dollars.” Wald said.
“It isn’t a bag of groceries. It’s what you did with them. The thought you expressed in your art is even more meaningful than Artist Auguste Rodin showed through his “Thinker”! You have said what Artist Rembrandt tried to say in 1,000 paintings with this bag of groceries!” The gallery owner said, “Here is your money!”
With a burning face. Wald stood still and could not say a word. Finally, he accepted the money and that night he took his wife out for dinner.
The next day, he went to the supermarket and bought another bag of groceries, much more expensive. He immediately took the bag to the gallery. But the reviews were terrible to him.
