When you are choosing a college,a lot of factors will probably influence your decision:the school's reputation, the classes offered and the professor in your major, to name a few. However, given the ever-increasing competitiveness of universities to attract more and more applicants, many schools now offer extra benefits to be enjoyed by all their students. Here are some of the fun“extras”offered by the schools.
Michigan Technological University
Taking advantage of the cold winter weather, Michigan Technological University sets itself apart with its on-campus ski resort, Mont Ripley, which is accessible and free for all students.Instead of hitting the campus gym, you'll be able to get your exercise outside on the slopes. When the pressure of school becomes too much, just head out for a day of free skiing and you'll be left feeling fully refreshed.
University of Missouri
At the University of Missouri, you can enjoy one of the best campus recreational centers in the country. It features an“indoor beach”complete with a waterfall and a lazy river, as well as an inexpensive full-service spa.Even if you don't enjoy working out, Missouri's recreational center will give you a good reason to go to the gym.
New York University
If you're a fan of museums,NYU is the perfect university for you.Not only will you be located in the heart of a city featuring some of the best museums in the world, but the university will provide you with access to many of them. You can take advantage of visiting museums anytime you want—which means you'll never be bored on weekends.
High Point University
If you see yourself quickly tired of dining-hall food—something that happens to almost all of us—High Point University has a great option:a private steakhouse for students.Besides the cheap steaks, the campus also offers ice cream from a campus ice-cream truck,a movie theater and a shopping center.

The lines to enter South Gate's South East High School and South East Middle School at 9 a.m.Monday were each about 200 students deep.
Kony Aguillon sat in the shade while her son, an eighth-grader, waited for his health check-in.She had done everything right on Sunday night, pre-checking the district's Daily Pass website so that it would be smooth going the next morning. But on Monday, the system wouldn't load. They arrived at school early, around 7:50 a.m., to check in, and an hour later, there they stood.“I imagined it was going to be crazy,”she said, but not as bad as it was.
Opening day at the nation's second-largest school district unfolded with a mix of emotions:frustration over long waits, anxiety over health protocols and concern for how things would go for children who had been learning online for a year and a half. But for many, the sense of joy and relief at being together again eased the worries.
In the early morning at John Marshall High School, lines of students waiting to enter extended two blocks.By 9 a.m., some students were still waiting, having missed part of the first class.
In anticipation of delays, Gary Garcia had already extended the first period of classes by about 18 minutes in hopes that all students could meet their teachers.
Teachers and parents also expressed optimism.
“It's exciting,”said Nohemi Sanchez-Heredia, who teaches first grade.Henriette Jeter was at the school with her daughters, who were starting kindergarten, second and fifth grades.Even though the pandemic worried her, she felt her kids needed to be back in a classroom.
The most common emotions were in the largest type: “nervous”and“excited”mixed with somewhat“stressed”“happy”“tired”and“scared”.
4.Which of the following can generally best describe emotions outside the school gates?_B__
A.Relaxed. B.Mixed.
C.Scared. D.Excited.
结合第三段中“with a mix of emotions...”以及最后一段内容“The most common emotions were in the largest type...”
5.What fact caused the check-in slow besides a bit too many students?_C__
A.No preparation.
B.Too many parents.
C.The poor loading system.
D.Extension of the first period.
结合第二段中“But on Monday, the system wouldn't load.”
6.What's the meaning of underlined word“protocols”in Paragraph 3?_B__
A.Benefits. B.Test reports.
C.Problems. D.Physical strengths.
结合画线词所在句中的关键部分“frustration over long waits, anxiety over health protocols and concern for...”
7.Who might be a principal(校长)?_A__
A.Gary Garcia.
B.Henriette Jeter.
C.Kony Aguillon.
D.Nohemi Sanchez-Heredia.
结合倒数第四段中的“Gary Garcia had already extended the first period of classes by about 18 minutes in hopes that all students could meet their teachers”可知,加里·加西亚已将第一节课延长了18分钟,希望所有学生都能见到他们的老师。 故选A。

When I was an incoming(即将入学的) student in the University of Oxford,I participated in FYSOP.Ever since then, whenever it comes up in conversation,I am met with the following question:“What is FYSOP?” 1.A
FYSOP stands for First-Year Student Outreach Project, which focuses around a week of service to the city of Oxford and its various neighborhoods. 2.C They volunteer for the Oxford community at local sites helping out schools, parks or non-profit organizations.
Students are divided into groups and led by student leaders. These leaders ensure that each place is prepared and that the students get there safely. 3.G In this way the incoming students are able to reflect on what it means to give back and to be a part of the community. These conversations are important for incoming students because of the change they experience starting out in college.
4.D Students obtain valuable volunteer experiences and meet new people. Also,FYSOP participants get to move in a week earlier than most other students. This means that you get to skip the hurried move in schedule and might even get a slightly cheaper flight than if you were moving in with the other 140,000 college students.
5.E Through my personal experience,I met some of my best friends, got a better understanding of the layout(布局) of Oxford, and really enjoyed volunteering at various non-profits.If you are not, maybe consider staffing FYSOP in the future.
A.Here's a brief introduction.
B.Here's why it has been established.
C.The participants are all incoming students.
D.There are so many bonuses being a part of FYSOP!
E.If you're an incoming student,FYSOP is worth looking into.
F.Both the community and the students benefit a lot from the project.
G.Leaders also open up conversations throughout the service experience.
故选A。
根据空后的In this way可知,设空处应描述FYSOP学生领导者的领导方式;再根据后文“These conversations are important for incoming students because of the change they experience starting out in college.”
根据后文的“obtain valuable volunteer experiences and meet new people”以及“get to skip the hurried move in schedule and might even get a slightly cheaper flight”可知,本段介绍的是学生参与FYSOP可获得的益处。
根据后文“Through my personal experience...” 符合语境,且与末句的“If you are not...”

In recent years, with the rapid development of China's economic and social construction, the development of education has reached a new level, but the regional education imbalance 1.has attracted/has been attracting (attract) people's attention ever since.
In my opinion, there are three reasons 2.for/behind this phenomenon. The first is the uneven investment. The investment in urban schools seems to be much more than 3.that in rural schools. The second is the inequality of educational facilities. Some schools have advanced facilities, 4.providing (provide) their students with a good learning environment. 5.However , some schools only have basic ones. Finally, imbalance is also reflected in the allocation(分配) of teachers. The teaching 6.ability (able) of teachers in developed areas is 7.generally (general)better, while most of the teachers in less developed areas are supporting teachers or substitute teachers.
So how to solve this problem?Firstly, 8.increase (increase) investment in education to narrow regional differences.Secondly, the allocation of resources should be reformed, and the compulsory education should be allocated as 9.a whole. Finally, experienced or highly 10.educated (educate) teachers should be encouraged to teach in remote areas.
故填has attracted/has been attracting。
reason常与介词for搭配, the reason for意为“…… 故填for/behind。
故填that。
故填However。
故填a。
