细节理解题常用 when , where ,who , how , why 进行提问。如:Which of the following is true?

Ben and Rosy were two big, strong horses. They had worked at Hill Farm for a long long time ever since Farmer West was a boy. However, Farmer West told his children, Jack and Susan, that Ben and Rosy were getting old and slow. “I think it is time that we made some changes at Hill Farm!”
Jack and Susan looked at each other. What did their dad mean?
One morning there came a loud “BEEP! BEEP!”
“Meet Toby, the tractor!” Mum said, “He can do all Ben and Rosy’s work.”
“But what about Ben and Rosy?” asked Susan.
“They can have a rest!” said Dad. “The tractor can do their work in half the time!”
“With no work for us to do, there is no need for the farmer to keep us here!” Rosy said to Ben. Ben was afraid that Rosy might be right.
It rained all night long. Early the next day, there came a loud cry from the yard outside.
“Come along, Toby!” cried Farmer West. “We have work to do! The rain has washed away so much soil and our new fence has fallen into the stream!”
The rain had made the ground dirty and wet. By the time Jack and Susan reached there, the tractor was already carefully lifting the pieces of fence out of the stream. Then, Farmer West got back into the driving seat and started up the engine. The tractor made a lot of noise as he tried to go forward again and again, but he could not move!
“Ben and Rosy!” cried Jack and Susan. “They can pull the tractor out of the stream!”
Ben and Rosy came. “Over to you, Ben and Rosy!” Farmer West said. “Pull!”

Things are always changing, like the clock, the weather, and even me. It seems nothing ever stays the same.
My life has been full of changes. Sometimes I don’t feel good about them, but then later it gets better.
Taffy, my kitty, ran away. We have looked for him all over, but we cannot find him anywhere. I miss Taffy a lot, and I am sad.
Dad says that we can get another kitty. That makes me feel better. I don’t know what I will name him, but I will always remember Taffy.
My best friend, Robin, just moved away.  The moving van took away everything, and the house is empty. I wish Robin were here to play with me.
The day I started the new school year, I was scared of all the new children in my class. I was afraid that they wouldn’t like me, and that I couldn’t run as fast as they do.
Now I am happy because I have made lots of new friends. I like Sarah and Ana, and Mary Lou, who makes me laugh. I love my class and my teacher.
Mom just took a new job at an office downtown. She’s not here when I come home from school. My Aunt Barbara is here to give me cookies and milk.
Then I wait and wait for Mom to come home. When the hands of the clock point straight up and down, she comes home, and that makes me happy.
Things are always changing, even with me. Yesterday I looked in the mirror. My face looked like a Halloween pumpkin because I lost my first tooth.

7.(2022春·广东广州·花都区七年级统考期末)I live in a flat with two large beds. I have clean water to cook my food and electricity to charge my phone. I enjoy my comfortable life. However, I often get bored with the routine and want something different. What life would be like without all these conveniences? In order to get an answer to that question, I made a special trip last summer.
My family has a little house at the top of a hill. There is no electricity or running water. And there are only two chairs and a wooden bed in the indoor living space. It needed patience to cook with a wood-burning stove. Wood needed to be chopped (砍)for the fire. Timing was everything. We had to cook and eat early so that we could have enough daylight to wash the dishes. But this life without computers, TVs or smartphones turned out to be great. There was plenty of time for talking, hiking and enjoying the natural beauty. At night, I saw something I didn’t see in years—a big sky full of stars. I also slept better there. In the morning, my mum cooked breakfast. I could wake up to the smell of cooking. And I could enjoy my breakfast with the morning light warming my face. It was a nice feeling I didn’t have for many years.
It’s hard to say which is better—a life with all the conveniences or one without. However, I think those of us living in the modern world should all take a holiday from convenience and routine.

Janie wanted Harley to go with her since Harley had just had her over to play last week. Jake asked his friend Charlie — they went everywhere together. When both friends had arrived, it was time to put the things into the car. The kids took some beach toys they might need. Mom packed towels, sunscreen(防晒霜), a chair and a cooler with sandwiches and drinks.
On the way to the beach, Jake and Charlie talked unhappily. They had forgotten their surfboards. Oh well! At least they could use the beach toys to build a huge sand house. Jake and Charlie loved to see how big they could make a sand house. They even liked to add roads and lots of other things.
