一、教学目标
- 掌握本课重点词汇及短语:crazy, be crazy about, terrible, once, put in, mistake, make a mistake, fill, fill...with..., not only…but (also)..., advise, course, already, instead, attend
2. 掌握本课重点句型:
Now the living room has not only blue walls but also a blue ceiling and floor.
3. 通过读,获取有关Andrew的DIY工作以及引发的问题的信息。
4. 分析Andrew的性格,并能给出建议。

指导学生通过读,获取Andrew做的DIY的工作以及引发的问题的信息。
难点:引导学生深度思考,分析Andrew的性格,并能给出建议。
三、教学过程
Step1 Warming-up
1. Guide Ss to have a free talk.
(1) Are you crazy about DIY?
(2) What do you like to make by yourself?
【设计意图】通过自由讨论,导入本节课主题。
Step2 Pre-reading
Guide Ss to match the words with meanings.
【设计意图】通过词义匹配练习,帮助学生了解本节课重要词汇的含义,为接下来的阅读活动扫除词汇障碍。
Step 3 While-reading
1. Guide Ss to read the passage quickly and answer questions.
(1) What’s the article mainly about?
(2) Is Andrew good at doing DIY? Why?
【设计意图】引导学生快速阅读课文,通过问题聚焦文章核心内容。
2. Guide Ss to read Paragraph 2 carefully and fill in the table.
3. Guide Ss to read Paragraph 3 carefully and fill in the table.
4. Guide Ss to read Paragraph 4 carefully and fill in the table.
【设计意图】引导学生分段进行精读,并填写表格,帮助学生提取文章细节信息。
5. Guide Ss to read the whole passage and do the True or False questions.
【设计意图】通过再读,帮助学生再次梳理文章内容,通过判断正误,检测他们对文本的理解程度,同时,要求他们修改错误的信息,有理有据地进行判断。
6. Guide Ss to read through the article quickly, and put it into 3 parts and find the main idea of each part.
【设计意图】在获取文章的核心信息和细节信息之后,让学生分段并概括段落大意,培养学生根据细节总结概括的能力。
Step 4 Post-reading
1. Get Ss to discuss the following questions:
(1) What do you think of Andrew? Why?
(2) If you were Andrew, how would you do these DIY jobs?
(3) If you have a friend like Andrew, what would you do?
【设计意图】通过讨论活动,帮助学生分析Andrew的性格,进一步认识Andrew,同时,关联学生自身,帮助学生形成解决问题的能力。
2. Guide Ss to retell the passage.
【设计意图】 进一步考察学生对课文的内容的掌握情况,同时引导学生进一步思考课文内容,培养复述能力。
Step 5 Summary
Summarize what they’ve learnt in this class.
Step 6 Homework
1. Read the article fluently, and summarize the vocabulary, phrases and sentences.
2. Prepare your or your friend’s/family’s story about DIY.
【设计意图】朗读并积累语言,培养学生的学习习惯,同时巩固所学,准备自己或朋友、家人的DIY故事,为后边的学习做好准备。
