一、教学目标

1. 掌握本课重点词汇及短语：mean, be born, beginning, in the beginning, sadly, face, live on,

2.   掌握本课重点句型：

(1) When Xi Wang was born, she weighed about 100 grams and looked like a white mouse.

三、教学过程
Step 1 Revision

Get Ss to have a revision of the basic information about giant pandas Xi Wang.

【设计意图】通过问题结合图片，帮助学生回忆大熊猫的基本信息。

Step 2 Pre-reading

Get Ss to talk about the problems and the solutions about giant pandas.

【设计意图】结合图片，引导学生讨论大熊猫的困境与解决方法。

Step 3 While-reading

1. Get Ss to read the passage and complete the dialogue.

2. Get Ss to answer the question according to the passage and learn the key words and phrases.

【设计意图】通过不同的阅读任务，帮助学生继续加深对语篇的理解，同时聚焦新语言。

Step 4 Post-reading

1. Get Ss to complete the passage with the words in the box.

【设计意图】通过练习帮助学生巩固目标语言的使用。

2. Get Ss to have an interview.

【设计意图】通过创设真实的情景，学生同伴之间的采访，在问与答中操练精选的七个重点短语，内化本节课的新语言点。

3. Get Ss to think about the questions and then guide them to focus on the conjunctive words.

4. Get Ss to fill in the blanks using the conjunctive words.

5. Get Ss to rewrite the sentences using the conjunctive words.

【设计意图】通过设置换角度改写课文与改写句子的任务，帮助学生聚焦语篇中连接词的使用，同时考量学生对语言输出中逻辑顺序的把握。

6. Get Ss to rewrite the story in the perspective of Xi Wang.

7. Show a sample to help Ss improve their writings, and then get Ss to share their writings.

【设计意图】经过前几个教学环节的铺垫，学生掌握了核心短语以及连接词的使用，通过

改写故事让学生将所学内容灵活运用，也可以在此环节评价学生对课文的掌握情况。

Step 5 Summary

Step 6 Homework

1. Perfect their rewritten stories.

2. Encourage people to care about giant pandas.
