一、教学目标
1. 掌握本课重点词汇和短语:especially, basic, education, right, spread, equal rights, pocket money等。
2. 掌握本课重点句型:
(1) I’m too weak to walk any further.

(3) It provides basic education for children in poor areas.
(4) It also works to prevent the spread of some serious diseases, like AIDS, among young people.

Step 2 Presentation
1. Look at the picture and guess what Eddie and Hobo are doing and where they are going.
【设计意图】训练学生听前预测的技能,减小听力压力。
2. Listen and answer the questions.
(1) What is needed for charity?
(2) What does Hobo want Eddie to do?
(3) Does Eddie want to go at once?
3. Listen and complete the passage.
【设计意图】通过不同形式的听力任务,帮助学生了解对话内容,为后面活动做准备。
Step 3 Practice
- Play the recording for the students to listen and repeat.
- Role-play the dialogue in pairs and try to use different facial expressions and body language.
【设计意图】通过听录音,为学生学习语音知识做好保障,逐渐培养学生听音、纠音和模仿的能力。在分角色表演中巩固所学语言和内容,检测学生的学习成果。

3. Read the dialogue in Part B in groups and make up a new one.
