When Adam walked into Toby’s bedroom, he was surprised to see the room full of sculptures(雕刻)and paintings. Then suddenly Adam cried out, “I know 10 to do our project! Why not make a plant and cat sculpture with some lights?” Toby said it was perfect. So 11 of them couldn’t wait to get started.
When it was time to present, they placed their special sculptures on the table, Toby talked about plants and cats 12 . As he described the similarities, Adam made red lights shine in the right places in the sculpture. When Toby pointed out the differences, yellow lights shone. The presentation turned out to be a 13 . Cameroon (喀麦隆) is experimenting with Africa’s first mobile system to send a bean signal (信号) over a wireless network. The system will give much needed medical aid to heart patients in poor areas. Arthur Zang invented the device called the Cardiopad (触屏医疗平板电脑). He was just 24 years old when he invented it. The Cardiopad allows heart examinations to be performed. The results of the tests are sent wirelessly to experts in other pans of the country who can understand them.

Now pollution problems are hot topics. We know many things have led to the problems. Tons of plastic bottles, plastic straws(吸管)and metal cans are produced. These things are difficult to clear up. 51 However, more and more people have realized this problem and chosen to “green”. Both the customers and the companies are changing in some ways.
On the one hand, customers hope that the products they buy should be safe for the environment. 52 will this shower cream be bad for the environment? Can this metal box be reused? Can it only be used once? A recent study showed that two out of five adults now consider the environmental safety of a product before they buy it.
53 Only by doing this can the companies make sure that they are “green” and friendly to the environment. A few years ago, it was impossible to find green products in supermarkets, but now there are hundreds. 54 Some companies also made some ads which are good for the environment. The care for a safer and cleaner environment is making companies rethink how they do business.
In a word, people will no longer accept the old attitude to “Buy it, use it, throw it away, and forget it.” 55 I believe we will have a really greener future.
A.Before they buy a product, they ask questions about the environment.
B.Luckily, a number of students have taken action to fight against pollution.
